A/N: Ok. I feel that I should explain this collection of drabbles. I hope this Author's note makes it clearer - and you can all thank Daffodil for it.

These first three drabbles- Knowledge, Early and Flight -were written for the all aliasdot com Drabble Contest. The Contest was: Choose a word andwrite a 100-500 word storyon it. The word could be featuredin the dialogue, or just be the inspiration for the story.

Title: Knowledge

Timeline: Pre-series.
Characters: Julian Sark, Andrian Lazarey, and Sark's mother.
Word Count: 100 words.

“Filth,” he spat. With a last contemptuous glare, he stalked out of the tiny apartment and slammed the door.

A muffled whimper cut across the sudden silence. A small boy with white blond hair crept out from behind the couch, careful to avoid the glass scattered over the carpet. His mother was lying like a corpse in front of him.

“Mama!” She was still - so still!

She stirred at the sound and opened her blackened eyes. “Julian… one day you will know why he does this…”

He was crying.

“One day you will know what your father really is…”
