Never Stays the Same-Part 4

Howdy and Hello! Thank you for reading and reviewing! I have added something to the 3rd chapter, just one paragraph. It explains why Meowth drank, b/c someone asked.

Sometimes, I refer to the techniques as powers.

Another thing; You are probably thinking, "Why were Jessie and James so quick to throw out Meowth? All they have been through." Trust me. I have a reason, that is said in this chapter. I whole-heartedly agree with you, that that one time they had tried to get a new Mascot, I was yelling at them. Trust me...and read!

Misty shifted uncomfortably as she sat in the waiting room chairs in the local Pokemon Center. Ash shuffled his feet, as Brock talked to Nurse Joy.

Misty was deep in thought. Whenever Misty would fight Team Rocket, she had no mercy for the three. She hated them, and thought the world would be better without them.

But now, that she had seen Meowth abandoned and beaten, she had had a stab of pity. There was something about the way that he had been curled up in the rain, beaten. Like all hope was lost, taken away, and gone.

A Chansey wobbled through the room, her tail swooshing as the egg in her sack bounced. Nurse Joy watched as the Chansey hobbled into another room, to check on another patient.

After a few minutes, a squealing could be heard in the room Chansey had entered. She wobbled out, waving her short pink arms enthusiastically, to Nurse Joy. "What is it?" Nurse Joy went to inspect the patient, and came out a second later, bustling toward the table.

"What is it?" Brock asked. "We've found another. And we think we may know what attacked your Meowth with such drastic effects!" Nurse Joy waved for them to come into the mysterious Pokemon's room.

It was darkly lit, except for a light illuminating the patient on the bed. It was a Raticate, but looked altered, or mutated. It's tail had armor plates, that stuck out more than usual. It's teeth stuck out on it's lip. It's whiskers were almost lost within the wild growth of hair, much longer than a usual Raticate. It's eyes were blue, and large. It's ears had grown long and thin, instead of fat and short. It's paws had turned into claws, and it's feet were hardly visible underneath the fur.

It sensed other visitors, and squeaked. Instantly, a brown bubble popped up around it. It jumped up, easily ripping the restraints it had on it's arms. It narrowed it's large eyes, that sent a wave of hot water toward them. It went straight through the mysterious bubble, and headed straight for them. The Chansey closed it's eyes, and a version of it's light screen appeared in front of it, Nurse Joy, Ash, Misty, and Brock.

The scolding water bounced off of the screen, and evaporated into the floor. Ash, Misty, and Brock stood gaping at it. They were sure that no Raticate could do that. What was all this sudden changes within normal Pokemon!

Chansey rushed forward, looking like a stern mother scolding her child, and made the Raticate lay back down, although she didn't put the straps back down. (PS. My Chansey, a character I have made, is a girl. She gets explained later.)

The trio went back outside, and waited in shock for any explanation. Nurse Joy saw their expressions, and gave a sad laugh. "I'm guessing you want to know what all that is about." She said, as she offered them a seat in her office behind the counter desk.

"So, what's with all the new freaky techniques Pokemon are having now days, and why do they look different then they are originally supposed to look like!" Ash asked.

Nurse Joy nodded, then pointed to Chansey, who's egg was turning a violent shade of purple.

"Chansey was there at the time, so that's how I know what happened. Did you here about the 'freak storm' in Margilter Village, near by?" Ash shook his head, but Brock spoke up. "Yes, I heard about that. There was a weird storm that did strange things. Uprooted trees, hurt everyone living there, even destroyed one of the solid built houses."

Nurse Joy nodded. "Did you here about what happened to the Pokemon living there?" She asked, and nodded again as Brock shook his head.

"All of the humans were knocked out when the weird things happened to the Pokemon. When the humans woke up, every single Pokemon from their village was gone. It was a tiny little village, with very few Pokemon and trainers."

"We have a machine that can tell us vaguely what Chaney remembers. So, this and the power of clues and deduction, is what we can tell what happened." Nurse Joy said as if a sleuth, about to reveal 'who did it'.

"The storm had poisonous gas, we believe, that knocked out the humans, but took longer to knock out the Pokemon. The gas mutated the Pokemon, especially the Pokemon living in the one house that was completely destroyed."

"The gas mutated the Pokemons mind's, making them forget their previous owners, and made them just leave. The gas mutated the Pokemon's mind's, techniques, and even their appearances. These mutated Pokemon can remember more than the average 4 techniques. They have better mutated powers, and can remember every single one."

Nurse Joy shuttered, then continued. "There are only a few out there, because like I said, it was a small town. The gas has started to concern us, though. Chansey here is doing powers very unlike what she can do. She can throw fire, water, electricity, etc. Beside these alarming new powers, the more pressing power they have is...psychic. They are controlling Pokemons' and humans' minds. Making them do what they want, at the mere sound from them. They can also make the opponent see horribleness... It can make it's opponent remember horrible thoughts, then the person/Pokemon is so caught up in the memory, that they can not stop it, or defend itself."

"Chansey has told us vaguely the Pokemon we are trying to find, so we can cure them. On our list, there is a Meowth. This Meowth didn't happen to attack your Meowth, did it!" Nurse Joy asked Misty.

Misty nodded, thinking of the strange Meowth, and how it had done extraordinary things.

Nurse Joy nodded. "We will try and find this new one. One more thing; the 'powers' can affect the Pokemon to the extent of death, so we need all of the affected Pokemon right away."

Brock frowned, then leaned toward Nurse Joy, his crush momentarily forgotten. "But Nurse Joy, Pokemon can't die!" Nurse Joy nodded, her hair bouncing. "Yes, I know. But these powers can mess up the Pokemon's brain. It spreads, and without treatment..." She trailed off.

"You can go in and see your Pokemon, now." She added. Misty and Ash headed for the next room, that had their awaiting Pokemon.

Meowth was sitting up in his hospital bed, and Pikachu bounded up once it heard Ash come through the door. "Hey!" He said, and patted Pikachu on the head.

"Hey, Meowth!" Misty smiled at him, that surprised him. "What am I doing here!" He said, looking up at Misty. "Do you remember anything!" Misty asked. Meowth chewed on his lip, then said, "Up to when Rawrhiss attacked me, and...she stole all of your Pokemon!" Meowth sat up in alarm.

"No, it's alright." Misty quickly explained to Meowth what Nurse Joy had told them. Meowth had a sudden realization on his face. "Ow! Rawrhiss kept hissing at James and Jessie! She was probably telepathically telling them what to do! I knew they kicked me out a little too quickly!"

Misty frowned. "Well, we have to get that Meowth to Nurse Joy. She can cure it, and it will be back to normal."

Meowth hopped out of bed, as did Pikachu. "Well, then! Let's go do it!"

I'm so devastated and sad and angry right now, I dunno what I will do. I was typing the explaining bit, and it was really good. Then, I accidentally kept pressing the 'undo' button. (My cat was on my lap, and his paw kept pressing down on it.) Before I knew it, he had erased most of the 'explaining work' I had done. I had to re-write it, and I don't think it was as good as the original. But alas, it is forever gone, because I didn't save.

I hope you got that Rawrhiss was controlling Jessie and James. Sad, but let's just say...it will be a happy ending!
