(This Conversation Takes place right after the first time Johnny enters JJ’s room and the nurse says sorry family only, this is why she never says it again)

JOHNNY: What’s with the family only crap?

SARAH: Oh you know, no one knows the truth about little Johnny’s paternity.

JOHNNY: But Sarah, this is the hospital where he was born, I know that we all agree JJ doesn’t have to know the truth about who I am but he was born here.

WALT: Sarah thought it would be for the best that my name was on the birth certificate you know so if JJ found it before we could explain everything to him.

JOHNNY: Oh yea and I’m guessing you expect to believe that if I wouldn’t have awakened you wouldn’t even consider telling him, hey are you even considering telling him.

SARAH: Johnny maybe we could talk about this later, (she glances at an unconscious JJ)

WALT: He’s fine Sarah, but I don’t think we should discuss this he could wake up at any moment. Now Johnny I understand where you’re coming from but this is not the right time.

JOHNNY: You understand, how’s that Walt. You tuck him in at night, read him stories, he looks at you and see a superhero and he looks at me and sees some, he sees some freak a guy who does parlor tricks.

SARAH: Johnny that’s not true, he’s warming up to you, I mean you two just finished working on the science fair together and it looks like he would have won if this wouldn’t have happened. He looks up to you.

JOHNNY: No he doesn’t, I agree that he likes me which is a lot compared to how it use to be, but he doesn’t look up to me like, life a father.

WALT: I’m his dad! (moves in a places his hand on Johnny’s chest)

JOHNNY: I know that Walt! (moving in closer to Walt) You think I don’t know that you’re his dad, but I’m his father! I gave him life. When I woke up I had nothing, NOTHING! My dad was gone before the accident, my mom was gone, and Sarah, you were gone but I do have one thing and that’s JJ! He’s lying in that bed right now and when I think about there being a chance that he may never wake up ( breaks in conversation to fight back tears)

SARAH: Oh Johnny (placing hand on Johnny and giving Walt a look, triggers vision)

In the vision they are at wake. As Johnny looks around the room he sees Sarah and Walt sitting at a table while people walk up to them saying how sorry they are for their loss. Just then someone walks up to Johnny.

WOMAN: You knew them well right?

JOHNNY: Yea Sarah and I were friends before my accident, and after she, Walt and JJ have been like my family.

WOMAN: Then I guess it hurts you to see that you couldn’t save their son Little Johnny was turning out to be quite the caring young man. He cared for others and would help out anyway that he could. He was looking more and more like his dad everyday.

JOHNNY: Walt!

WOMAN: Yea he was turning into Walter Bannerman, they were so proud.

JOHNNY: Lady, I’m JJ’s dad, you hear that, I’m his father!

BRUCE: (coming from across the foyer) Johnny come on it’s time we left

JOHNNY: (screaming insanely and enraged) I was his father, you hear that town Psychic Johnny Smith was the father of Sarah Bannerman’s love child! I mean come on people JJ. You can only call your kid JJ if he’s a junior. Johnny Bannerman my ass! There lies the body of John Smith Jr.! You hear me Johnny Smith Jr.! That’s my son! He was mine.

JOHNNY: (exiting vision) That’s my son!

SARAH: Johnny please don’t do this, there’s to much happening now, we need to be focused on that and worry about this later.

JOHNNY: I am focused, every time Johnny comes in here for anything they check the history of you and they check the history of Walt, god forbid he makes it through this and then something genetic threatens his life and they need family histories. They can’t have correct family histories if I’m not listed. People in this town thinks it’s strange enough that I follow you around like a sad puppy, I’m not asking for the whole world to know I’m just asking for the people here to know. All I want is that when he’s sick and we come in the room they don’t say family only and then you have to make up an excuse for me. That’s all I want is for someone to know that Johnny Smith has something more important out there to him then visions and saving everyone. That’s he’s actually has someone that is his, something that belongs to him.

(nurse enters room)

NURSE: I’m sorry due to the nature of this boy’s illness we ask that family only are in the rooms

SARAH: I’m sorry maybe you don’t know this but this is Johnny Smith and JJ would want him to here and we won’t him here.

NURSE: I don’t care if he’s Emmett Smith family only I’m sorry sir.

WALT (noticing pure hurt in Johnny’s eyes) Nurse Mr. Smith can stay he’s JJ’s father.

NURSE: Oh my god, Mr. Smith I had no idea

WALT: (cutting nurse off) JJ doesn’t know and we hope that it can stay here in this room, when it comes to fatherhood I am JJ’s dad, I’m the only one who he knows as a father, but when it comes down to DNA John Smith is his father.

JOHNNY: Thanks Walt

WALT: Understand I’m not doing this for you, I’m doing this for the boy.

JONNY: I understand
