The ironclad ship was without a doubt a Fire Navy ship, and on board was a young woman of fifteen. Like all Firebenders, she was muscular and very agile; she had feline grace and speed, yet also the fiery passion of Fire itself. Her skin was ivory, her hair, like all firebenders was black, and she had it in a long braid. She wore red trimmed armour, and she looked like any firebender in the army. Yet, she was different, from the soldiers, not only because she was a girl, but also because she was their princess.
She, like her older brother, father, mother, and uncle, had golden eyes, and like her family, she was a firebender. Around her neck was a necklace, the satin was wine red, and the charm was the symbol of fire. It was once her mother’s, and the girl hardly knew her mother, for her mother died in an ambush, trying to protect her daughter while the girl’s father protected her brother. The tragic thing was, her mother’s death was only a few days after the girl’s birth.
“Ma’am, we await your orders?” said a soldier, the girl turned to look at the man. Unlike her brother, she didn’t have an elder family member with her, partly because she wasn’t banished, and partly because her uncle never married. Though she did have her teacher, Master Shyro, with her.
“What are you currently doing?” she asked, and the man looked out of place.
“Heading for Admiral Zhao’s port, milady,” he said quickly, and the girl’s eyes narrowed.
“Good, keep it that way,” she snarled at him and turned away, her braid slapping her shoulders as she moved.
Yes, she was very different that her banished, traitorous, backstabbing, disloyal, betraying, dishonorable, good-for-nothing, elder brother of hers! She was honorable, loyal, and she was not a traitor or backstabbing, nor betraying and she wasn’t good-for-nothing. Yes, she was very different from her brother, who was nothing but a weak coward! She wasn’t a weak coward, she was a strong and courageous warrior! She was the daughter of Fire Lord Ozai, niece of General Iroh, and even though she hated the fact, but she was also Prince Zuko’s little sister. Her name was Tailin, and she was the Fire Princess.
“Slow down Prince Zuko, you’ll pull a muscle,” said a very annoying voice. The boy only firebended faster and with greater fury! “Why don’t you sit down and drink some tea with me, Prince Zuko?” asked Uncle Iroh. The boy didn’t stop his rapid firebending, instead, he only did it faster. “You know, I hear that Tailin as been granted permission to go to Admiral Zhao’s port. I hear your sister has much better temper control, not that I didn’t already guessed that, Tailin does seem to take after your mother and you take after your father,” Iroh said. The boy cried out in rage.
“I don’t care what my silly sister is up to! All I care about is capturing the Avatar! Then, I can rub it in both of their arrogant faces! And same with Zhao!” Zuko yelled at his uncle. Iroh, calmly sipped his tea.
“Temper, Zuko, temper. Your sister would make a better leader right now, she can keep her temper under control,” Iroh said. Zuko hoped his uncle wasn’t doing this to get him so made and force him to rein in his fiery temper. Growling as he brought his hands down with a display of fire, Zuko marched to his room. “Maybe we need to search for the Avatar a lot harder, half the time we need the Water Tribe girl to cool you down,” Iroh said and chuckled.
“Not funny Uncle,” Zuko snarled back at his uncle, but this did soften his temper a bit, mentioning of the Water Tribe girl, always did, ever since that incident with the Lotus tile and the stupid waterbending scroll. Whenever he was really upset, and meditating didn’t help, he would look at the necklace and he would be calmer. Strangely enough, the necklace also reminded Zuko of the necklace his sister, Tailin, wore, but instead of water, it was fire. He could personally careless about his sister right now, half of him wanted to find the Avatar and bring him back to the Fire Nation and the other half wanted to find the Avatar just to see the Water Tribe girl again. Zuko entered his room and began to meditate, just at the same time his sister Tailin did.
