(Author Note READ PLEASE )Hi readers! Again. If you remember me, well I came back with another story. "The Adventure For A Lifetime" will continue (hopefully). To tell you the truth, this is actually a remake of that story, just kind of edited up and put it more in depth. So I hope you guys like it, please not a huge amount of flames. I can take criticism. Just NOT a lot. Oh and also to point out, I didn't beat any of the recent Sonic games and I really don't know what happen at the end of any of them (yeah I suck, I know). So what that means is my imagination will be all up in this. Nothing is really falling from off the games, in SOME parts it is but most of this is from my imagination. So please don't follow this from the story line on the games. I wouldn't want you guys to be all confused. This is simply my imagination! Also this story is kind of long(which means it will have a few chapters)and that's because I typed this all out before and I kept re-reading it, to make sure it sound right and I didn't see any errors. Which I may need to hire someone to read over my stories and see if they can point out my errors and grammer. Anyhow with closing my words, I am not the Novelist kind of person either, I'm more "Script" form and I write much better in that. But since these rules don't allow it, I have to improvise with "Novel", so if it's a bit confusing to read, just tell me and I will try to edit it up.

Oh and on minor note, forgive me for sudden "BOOM" effects I keep adding on here, its a habit, you will come in encounter with a lot of those, later on in this story. Enjoy!

The years have passed in the city of Station Square. The Sonic Heroes had gotten older and more powerful. Sonic the hedgehog was no longer the mere 15 year old anymore. He now was 17 years old, still standing and keeping his word about letting the city be in world-peace. Tails the fox a.k.a Miles Prower, which is the mechanics "brain" of the team, was now at the age of 11. He was no longer the pip-squeak of the team, he matured and now was almost standing as tall as Sonic. Knuckles the last member of the team, was now at the age of 18 holding strong and still keeping his promise of protecting the master emerald. The whole team still served and protect to stop danger from coming in the world.

Mystic Ruins, Tail's Workshop Garage (4:05PM)

Tails was now in his garage, looking carefully at the Tornado 3. He would almost be finish with it soon, if he could just find out what was missing. There had to be some kind of issue in the engine.

"I just don't get it."

Sonic was also in the area, but he was looking at a magazine not really caring about the situation. Tails looked in his direction, and noticed it immediately.

"Sonic...uh, tell me again why your over here?"

Tails said, that in a sarcastic tone. Sonic obviously didn't get it, because there was no reaction from him. He was too attached to whatever he was looking at in the magazine.

"Uh...Son-"

Sonic then gets out of his stare gaze, cutting off Tails.

"Whoa! I must definitely be a known idol, to a whole bunch of people. They have me all on these pages in this magazine..."

Tails just rolls his eyes. Seem like the older Sonic got, the more egotistical he got. But he continued to ramble on, as if it wasn't bothering Tails.

"I flip through every page, there it says on the titles, 'I'm the courageous hero faster then a rocket.' 'I'm the world's fastest hero.' 'I could destroy Eggman in one sec!' 'I have-"

Tails had heard enough, so he shuts him up.

"Alright enough. I get the point...Sonic."

Sonic could see the annoyance in Tails face, so he stopped.

"Sorry lil bro. These kinds of things just make me feel more happy of being a hero..."

"Yeah, I see. But you don't have to keep rubbing it in."

Tails said, getting even more annoyed. He was a bit bummed that the whole world would only really acknowledge Sonic and not anyone else. But he knew Sonic was the main hero that everyone looked up to, so that pretty much explains the whole or-deal. Sonic just shrugs it off, getting the point. And he puts the magazine down on a nearby shelf, he noticed that Tails was looking very interested in the Tornado 3.

"So did you get the Tornado 3 to work?"

Tails just shakes his head, indicating "no".

"I really don't get it, I mean made sure all the wires were in place and everything. But something still won't get the engine moving."

Tails said, in despair. Sonic sort of looks on with him, to see if he could be some assistance. It was silent for a second, until Tails broke it.

"Say Sonic why don't you see if you can start it, while I find out what wire it is?"

"Alright. But are you sure thats gonna work Tails?"

"Well it has to be one of these wires, at least ONE that is out of place. I won't know if it starts until I test one of the wires. And while I'm doing that, you can see if the engine starts."

Sonic just nods his head like he understands. He goes over by the Tornado 3, while Tails gets under it, and begins fooling around with the wires. He started to call up to Sonic from under it, making his voice a bit muffled.

"Okay Sonic, try it."

Sonic cranks up the engine, it made a little sputter noise and then quickly died off. Sonic just shakes his head.

"That wasn't it Tails. Try another one."

Tails continued his process of finding the right wire. While Sonic looked on lazily bored, he started to daydream off in his mind. But couldn't because Tails yelled out again.

"Sonic try it now!"

Sonic wasn't sure what Tails said, cause it sounded a bit too muffled.

"Did you say start it?"

"Yeah...w-wait...a min... no don't!"

Sonic still couldn't hear him too good, but he figured he wanted him to crank it again.

"Okay I'm starting it.."

Tails then yells out.

"Wait!"

But it was too late, because Sonic started the engine and all that came out was a puff of black smoke, smothering them both.

Outside of Tail's Workshop

Amy Rose was seen outside of Tails workshop, about to knock on the door. She now was at the age of 14 and matured greatly. She still had a bit of her crazed spells when it came to Sonic, but you could tell she was slowly getting over the obsession.

"Gee I wonder is Tails home?"

Amy said, to no one in particular. She then walks up to the door and knocks on it.

Knock! Knock!

Inside the workshop, Tails and Sonic were both filled with black soot all over them. They look like they both came down a dusty chimney. Tails was coughing, and then looked up at Sonic with a smirk. Sonic was looking like he didn't know what was going on.

"Hey, why you looking at me like that?"

"Sonic I told you to not start it."

Sonic then shrugs, like it wasn't his fault.

"Well thats not what I heard. The word I heard was start it."

Tails sighs annoyed.

"Yeah I did, but I changed my mind."

He takes look at his orange fur all covered in blackness.

"Oh great, I'm seriously gonna have to take a bath now."

Tails said. All of sudden he heard noise coming from the front door. Sonic must of heard it too, because he begin to listen out.

"Is someone at the door?"

Tails just nods his head, assuming it was. He walks up to the front door and unlocks it to see...

"Hey Amy."

"Hi! Tails...uh...wha-"

Amy paused in her sentence, when she saw that the orange fox was now all black. Tails could see the confusion in Amy's face, so he explains.

"Uh, I know I'm all covered in blackness. It's nothing but soot."

Amy begins to giggle.

"Whoa, what happen?"

Tails gets annoyed look, and points back to Sonic who was now coming in the area.

"Ask your hero."

Amy sees Sonic, looking similar to Tails come stepping up.

"Sonic?"

She said that in sort of a confused tone. When Sonic seen Amy he thought of the worst. Maybe that she was gonna squeeze him too death or better yet jump all over him.

"Oh no! Amy plea-"

Amy cuts him off, already knowing what he was thinking.

"Stop jumping to conclusions Sonic. I'm not gonna hug you too death...well not today."

Sonic gets a bit relieved as Amy said that. Tails opens the door wider to let her in.

"Is there a problem or something Amy?"

"Oh no Tails, it just that I wanted to tell you guys and I know you both are probably going to be a little bit annoyed by it...Well then again you may not...hehe."

Sonic starts to get impatient.

"Well what is it? Get to the point Amy."

Amy instead of doing what she use to do when Sonic said something rude to her, she would just pout. But not this time, she now would glare at him.

"I AM. Anyway, I have a friend I just met the other day at the mall, who is way cool by the way. And she wants to meet you guys."

Tails, suddenly shows this confused face and begins to assume things.

"Meet us? Is she a fan?"

"Well yeah, actually she is. And she wants to really meet all the Sonic Hero Team members."

Amy said, going in more detail. Tails and Sonic didn't say anything and just looked on at Amy letting her explain more about it.

"And I told her that I would help her, cause I knew you guys. But I wasn't too sure if you all would approve it...Since you guys get swarmed by fans everyday.."

Sonic was still looking on with Tails. He wasn't too sure who this girl was, he wanted more information. Well actually, before they took their time to meet her. Sonic knew he was a hero, but sometimes the fan publicity gets tiring, in his eyes.

"Uh Amy, who exactly is she?"

"Oh her name is Vicky, she's not from Station Square. She told me she came from a city in that country named the United States."

Amy said, to them. Vicky Wilson is her full name she was someone who had became good friends with Amy. They share a true friendship bond that only the two of them can understand. Vicky is a brown-furred skin hedgehog, who is at the age of 18 and is actually considered to be from the U.S.A. She looked like she could sort of go for Amy's older sister.

"Cool, not much people in Station Square are from there."

Tails said, now in a interested tone.

"Yeah, I said the same thing. This makes it even better, that she could tell me all about it! I always wanted to know what it was like to live there!"

Sonic looks to Amy in a curious way, as she said that.

"Ames you wanted to live there?"

"Yeah I was actually thinking of one day, moving over there. It would be so cool to see all the different kinds of people and cities."

Tails then looks to Amy also curiously.

"Moving Amy? When?"

Amy could tell that Tails, had a bit of concern in his voice.

"I-I don't know really. I heard Vicky tell me she was going back to just visit her parents in the next two weeks. I'm not sure, it maybe soon though."

Tails looks in another direction, kind of glum. Amy noticed it, so she tried to reassure him.

"Listen Tails, I'll never forget about you, even if I did move a thousands miles away from Station Square...And I do mean that."

Tails perks up a little smile. But he was still kind of down about it.

"But it just won't be the same without you Amy, even if you did decide to go."

Amy gets kind of quiet as Tails said that, not sure of how to respond. But after a second pass, she answered.

"Well I'm still on the sort of "I'm not sure side", so while I'm here, you won't have to think about that."

Tails smiles a bit more, as she said that. He meant every word he said about her leaving. He grown on to Amy ever since he was 8 years old, they altogether been through so much adventures. It just wouldn't be the same without her.

"Okay, I think I can live with that."

"Good. Hehe."

Amy said, smiling at him. She looked over at Sonic who was sort of quiet through the whole issue. He didn't say anything to her about it, he was just looking in another direction of the area with a un-readable expression on his face. Amy decided not to say anything on his actions toward the situation, so she continued on the situation with Vicky.

"So...are you guys going to let her meet you?"

"Sure, it's no problem with me. What about you Sonic?"

Tails looked over to Sonic for answer, which drawn Amy to do so as well.

"Eh...sure whatever."

Sonic said, in a not caring way. Amy smiles happily.

"Great! How about we meet over in City Square mall tomorrow? Is that cool with you guys?

"Cool with me."

Tails said, agreeing. Sonic just nods his head, indicating cool with him.

"Excellent. Well I'll see you guys tomorrow then. I have to call her today and tell her the news."

Amy was about to give them her farewell hug, until she noticed they still had that soot on them. So she had backed away.

"Uh, you guys might want to take a bath. Hehe. See ya!"

Tails and Sonic both looked at themselves once more. Amy then walked out the door that was still wide open, humming along from her cheery mood.

"Bye Amy!"

On the other hand, Sonic still stayed quiet the whole time. Something was bothering him now, what was it? Time will tell.

Okay that was Chapter 1. I hope you guys weren't to bored or better yet hopefully you all understood it. Like stated before, if its hard for you to read just tell me. Also I hope they don't delete this. If they do, don't worry I will post it up again, because I heard they don't delete it the second time. I don't know really, but I would like you all opinions on this, should I continue this or just stop altogether? You choose, thanks for reading atleast. A beginning author like myself is just trying to get better:)
