“Farewell, my friends.”

How I wish I didn't have to say those words.

If I could but take the three of you with me.

But I cannot stay, for my heart will not let me.

Over the wave and the edge of the world I go.

What awaits me in Aslan's country?

What will I do there?

More importantly, what will I do when I see Him?

Will I greet Him as an old friend?

No, He is far too superior.

Shall I dance and rejoice?

Or will I even be able to move in His presence?

What shall I say?

Shall I shout?

Shall I sing?

Will I even be able to speak?

Here at last on the shore of His land.

There. There He is.

“Welcome, Reepicheep, my friend and faithful servant.”

I come as close as I dare and kneel.

I am trembling, as I never have before.

I can feel His breath upon me.

“Welcome home.”

“Aslan...”
