"Mistress of Pemberly"

He was the last man on earth

I had passionately vowed.

When anger and ignorance clouded my view.

The best man on earth

His subordinates praise.

Those below him, who he so harshly criticized

are now his finest dinner guests.

How could my judgments be so wrong?

Everyone had seen the arrogance and pride.

Where is that man now?

He gives me a smile

Of nervousness and joy.

He trusts me with his secrets.

As I return the expression

I begin to ponder,

how it would be to become mistress of Pemberly.

AND! Just for you my wonderful readers! A BONUS! a recipe-poem, an idea of my teacher.
