A/N: If you haven’t finished HBP than you might not want to read this, this includes information that you won’t read until the last few chapters. But, you’ve probably already finished it so enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don’t really know what this word means but everyone uses it to say that the characters aren’t theirs. So here we are: I own nothing, really- nothing. Not a single person or place. Oh, I do own the plot. This is turning into my A/N too. Yes, I own the plot that I’m hoping brings a happy ending to those of you Harry/Ginny shippers. I was a little disappointed when they broke up but eh, that’s why I’m not making money and I’m writing fan fiction in me room here at 11:30 at night.

No One’s Ever Alone

She walked through the streets of London without really being there. Her body was there of course, but her mind was wandering. It seemed she let her mind slip away a lot, slip away just like she had.

She entered the well known pub, well known to the wizard community that is. Seeming invisible to the Muggle passers-by.

She sat alone at the Leaky Cauldron; having left Hogwarts a year before. She finished quite well with several OWLS and a handful of NEWTS. She had planned to join the Order when she got out of school- they needed all the help they could get when Dumbledore died.

But they didn’t need her; Harry had defeated Voldemort two years ago, at the end of her 6th year.

Harry- she had finally gone out with him in her 5th year, if only for a short while. But he pulled another heroic deed and ended their relationship.

She understood, but she had hoped he would come back for her when he completed the prophecy. But as it turned out Ginny Weasley wasn’t one to be remembered. She was the little sister and she had been forgotten.

She waited for a months for Harry to come back for her, but he didn’t return to the Burrow. Not during the holidays of her 7th year, not afterwards when she graduated. So she left, she moved out.

Ginny was determined to get over him once and for all. And so far, after a year and a half, she was failing miserably. Literally, she was completely unhappy.

She hadn’t gone back to see her family in the time she had left, she hadn’t talked to anyone. No one had come to see her, more proof that it seemed that Ginny Weasley, the little sister, had been forgotten.

The door to the Leaky Cauldron opened; she didn’t look up as the light of the Muggle world filled the pub momentarily. She stared into the bottom of her mug of Butterbeer. In the past she had looked up- hoping in vain that someone she knew would come through that door. But she had long since given up on that. She had no idea why she had seen no one, no one from her family- none of her close friends.

But that is how it was; Ginny was alone and had accepted it. She poured herself into her work. She didn’t work for the ministry, she had lost faith in that too after it failed to provide adequate help in the Final Battle. She wouldn’t reduce herself to work there.

She was self-employed. Doing little things here and there, anonymously helping out the wizarding community. She wasn’t paid well, but it was enough.

In fact she was here waiting for a client; he was looking for someone who he used to know quite well. He hadn’t talked to her in years but wanted to find her. Ginny agreed to meet with him despite the fact that he refused to give her his name.

She understood that, most of her clients didn’t want to give out personal information.

She heard footsteps behind her, and someone sat down in the seat opposite her. This was her usual meeting table so she expected to see the face of her newest client. Not someone she had known for 8 years. Ginny looked up into the face of none other than Harry Potter.

She gasped and pushed her chair away. Harry smiled tentatively and walked over to kneel in front of her chair. He was almost a foot taller than her so they were now at eye level. She was at a loss for words and simply stared. Harry took her hands in his.

“Ginny,” he said a strange emotion filling his voice, one she hadn’t heard since she’d left. “Why did you leave?” he asked “Why did you run away?”

She looked away, tears stinging her eyes. “I waited” she choked out, “I waited for months, but you never came.”

Harry sighed. “Didn’t anyone tell you?” She looked at him sharply for a moment, then looked away again.

“Tell me what?” She asked almost coldly.

“For a year after I… you know. I was chasing Death Eaters around the country, the continent! I was cleaning up Voldemorts’ mess if you will.” He paused.

“Why didn’t you come back after I finished Hogwarts?” she asked in barely a whisper.

“Well, I planned to.” He replied, “And then I realized how many people I had killed and, well I couldn’t face anyone for a while.” He paused. “I pulled myself together in December and decided to go to The Burrow for Christmas. I was so looking forward to seeing you again.” He paused again before continuing. “But when I got there, they said you’d left. No one knew where you were. So I’ve spent the rest of my time trying to find you again.”

“Now, why did you run away?” he asked quietly.

Ginny continued to stare out the window beside her. A strong hand slipped under her chin, turning her head to face Harry.

“Why?” he asked again.

“Oh, Harry!” she cried quietly, tears now streaming down her face. “I waited; I waited all summer for you. Then I waited until November and you never came! I figured you’d forgotten about me, that if I was going to be alone I should leave.”

She looked away again. “So I left.” She finished quietly.

This time both his hands turned her to face him. He held her face for a moment. Then, Ginny’s waiting was over.

He kissed her, warmth flooding her body as his lips brushed against hers. Her tears stopped as he broke away and whispered. “No one’s ever alone.”

Her face broke into a huge grin as she threw her arms around his neck. He stood up, picking her up with him and kissed her again. This one lasting longer than the other. His lips pressed gently against hers, he moved them, slowly rubbing them against hers. She was filled with the same warmth she had forgotten months ago, andthis time, kissed back.

“Now what do you say we go home?” he asked, pulling away slightly but keeping his arms wrapped around her waist, hers around his neck. Ginny looked up into his eyes and nodded without a word.

She rested her head against his shoulder, his armstill resting protectivly around her waistas they walked out of the pub. Ginny had come and gone countless times, but it had always been alone. It felt good to be walking out with someone; she could feel that she was already returning to the Ginny that everyone had known.

Not the Ginny that cried alone at night, not the Ginny that ran away. Not the Ginny that hid. But the one that made people laugh, the one that stood up and fought, the one who she liked. The only one there was now, Ginny Weasley, the little sister who hadn’t been forgotten.

A/N

There you have it, cheesiness and a dabble of fluff. But hey, I’m a hormonal teenager. Now be a dear and write me a review. Just an “I read it, it sucks.” would be appreciated, though I do hope it doesn’t suck.

Anyhoo, this almost definitely (I'm 99.99999999 sure)will stay a one-shot. I’m considering a sequel- a proposal perhaps. But we’ll see. I’m not one for doing things in a timely fashion so don’t hold your breath.
