Blond Compliments Blond

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones”

A/N: This is my absolute first Harry Potter fanfic….I got hooked on to Luna/Draco a couple of days ago. Hope you all like this little ficlet!

“I just want you to cut it,” Pansy insisted as she and Draco walked up the dingy dungeon stairs to the Great Hall.

Draco rolled his eyes at her nagging voice as he ran his hand through the long silver blond hair, “How many times to I have to tell you? I like my hair long like this. Just leave me be,” he said and made his way to up the Grand staircase.

“Where are you going?” she asked as he deviated from his original route.

“I lost my appetite,” he called as he continued to walk up the stairs. Honestly is not that long, he thought. It just grew a couple of inches…she’s such a pain.

He made his way to the library, but was held back by a dreamy voice calling to him, “Draco,” he heard and he turned to see Luna Loony Lovegood approach him. Her blond hair was tied up in a messy ponytail and her new crescent moon earrings swung back and forth as she walked towards him.

“Lovegood,” he stated in a cold voice, “What do you want?”

Luna caught up with him and gave him a small smile, “How’s your morning?”

Draco always thought her odd and saw that the best way to get her out of the way would be to play along, “Oh, I don’t know, I think someone declared today to be ‘Bother Draco Malfoy’ Day.”

Draco jumped suddenly as Luna shrieked a high pitch laugh. He looked around to see if her laugh had drawn any attention. He turned back to her and gave her a confused look. She stopped and wiped a cheerful tear from her cheek.

“Are you okay?” he asked in a bewildered tone.

“Yes, yes of course,” she sniffed and composed herself, “I heard Pansy nagging you, is that why you are in a bad mood?”

“There are other factors,” he said looking at her threateningly, “Well I’d best be off to the library,” he stated trying to end this awkward conversation.

“Well I’ll see you around then,” she said disappointedly. Draco began to walk away before he heard his name again, “Draco.”

He turned around reluctantly, “Yes?”

Luna came closer, lifted her hand and grabbed a lock of his hair, “I like your hair long. Don’t cut it,” she simply said. She let go of the strand and walked away in a dreamily manner, skipping every other step.

Draco stood rooted to the floor and a small smile crept upon his face. Maybe this day wasn’t so bothersome after all.

Fin.
