Stupid Ribbons
She hated those damn ribbons. Except she kind of didn't.
I do not own the characters or universe depicted.

She hated those damn ribbons.

Rory and Sookie could attest to that. They'd claim it in under a tenth of a second.

It wasn't really so much the ribbons, she realized every time she reasoned with herself. It was the affiliation the ribbons had.

She really hated being broken up. She always had.

Of course, for some reason, this time was different. Of course. Everyone had always told her she and Luke were meant to be.

And for a little while, they were. They were LukeAndLorelai. One person, one body, one entity.

Stupid ribbons.

Stupid Taylor.

Stupid Emily.

Stupid Christopher.

Stupid Lorelai.

She hated those damn ribbons and Taylor for handing them out. She hated her mother for inviting Christopher. She hated Christopher for coming.

She hated herself for letting him get away.

Stupid Kirk, too, and his stupid blue-and-pink tied together ribbon of hope.

Stupid town.

She ate her cereal, hours ago, and wondered about the intelligence level of a person who'd be stupid enough to leave an open gallon of milk sitting out.

For a full ten seconds, she hated Rory.

Then she stopped.

Mainly she just hated herself… and Christopher. She really, really hated Christopher.

And Sherry, for leaving. And Straub, for dying. And her parents, for renewing their vows.

She really hated Gigi, mostly for the fact that if it weren't for Gigi, she'd probably be ignorantly happy with Christopher and wouldn't be caring about Luke.

Of course, she'd probably still hate Christopher.

And she'd definitely still care about Luke.

But ignorance is bliss.

She silently sat in bed; hand in the pocket of her jeans, stroking the blue ribbon.

She hated those damn ribbons.

Except she kind of didn't.
