Epilogue
One Year Later
Cordelia collapsed on the couch after the last guest left. Their parents decided to throw them an anniversary party. They've officially been together for one year, but it wasn't all peaches and cream. Willow threw a shit fit when she found out that Cordelia was moving to California with Buffy. It finally got the point across that Buffy would never be hers. She finally came around at her wedding to Tara and now with a baby on the way it changed her mind quickly.
Eventually they got through their issues and everything worked out for the best. They bought a house with a huge back yard, six bedrooms, and four in a half baths, an attic, and a basement. It was quite quaint actually; Cordelia still didn't understand why her girlfriend needed all those rooms. A smile broke out on her face when Buffy came into the room in nothing but a silk kimono. She knew that there was nothing underneath it. Buffy sat down on her lap and gave her a passionate kiss. It's a year later and they are still going strong.
"I am so glad that this is over." Buffy sighed.
"Tell me about it. What were our parents thinking? Throwing us an anniversary party."
It wasn't that she didn't like it. All she wanted to do was spend a quiet romantic evening with her girlfriend.
Buffy gave her a small smile, "Oh please, you were enjoying yourself." She chided.
"I'll never tell." She laughed out.
Buffy hit her lightly on the arm. Cordelia smiled evilly and began tickling her girlfriend. It was her way of retaliation and boy did she love it. Buffy broke out in a fit of giggles and almost fell off of Cordelia's lap.
"Do you give?" She asked still tickling Buffy.
Buffy was totally red in the face and laughing, "Yes, I give I'm sorry." She kept laughing. She finally let up on her tickle assault and kissed her girlfriend soundly on the lips.
"I have something for you. Let me up." Cordelia told her.
Buffy let out a sigh and watch her lover go into their bedroom. Using this moment to her advantage she pulled open her kimono to reveal a very nice piece of barely there lingerie. She situated herself on the couch and waited for her lady love to return. Buffy had given Cordelia her anniversary gifts this morning, it was a pink Harry Winston princess cut diamond ring. She wouldn't call it an engagement ring, but a promise ring of a future to come. Cordelia gasping brought her out of her thoughts.
Buffy looked up at her with doe eyes, "You like?" She gave her a secretive smile.
She made her way over to the couch and sat on the floor. "Oh yeah mama likes." She gave her a predatory grin.
"I will ravish you later, but now I have to give you your present. Do not interrupt me or you will not get it."
Buffy pouted, but then relented.
"I won't interrupt." She put her finger to her lips.
"Buffy this past year has been the best of my life. I could have never asked for a better girlfriend or lover better than you. You are my heart, my soul, my reason for being. I know we have had our ups and downs, our on again and off again. We over came that and everything else that was thrown our way. I've never been more happier than what I am now, I want to keep that happiness as long as I can."
Cordelia reached behind her back and pulled out a small ring box. Buffy let out an inaudible sigh. Not paying attention to her girlfriends reaction, she flipped open the box to reveal a yellow diamond ring, that look reminiscent to the engagement ring she was admiring in Tiffany's.
"What I am trying to say is I want to spend forever with you. I love you Elizabeth Anne Summers. Will you marry me?"
She waited a beat for Buffy's answer. The tears were coming down both of their faces, it didn't take Buffy long to come up with her answer.
"Yes, I will marry you. Forever that's the whole point" Cordelia reached for her hand and slid the ring on her finger.
Buffy wrapped her hands around her fiancée's neck and gave her a kiss. Wanting more than that Cordelia broke away and stood up. Buffy took her hand and followed her out of the living room. Let's just say the celebrating went on for the rest of the night.
I could have ended this story with "And they all lived happily ever after." That would've been a little clichéd. Thanks for reading!
