J2: The Deception
Somehow, Drago was able to drag himself to Jade's back door and began to pound on it. Inside, Jade heard her back door being pounded on, so she hurried over to it completely alarmed.
"O..O-open the d-mn door! H-hurry! Errgghhh!" Drago groaned in pain. Jade opened the door and was shocked. How he got so injured she couldn't guess at first. He nearly collapsed as he tried to get into her house on his feet, so she helped him to her couch.
"Drago! What happened to you? Did Marlone's goons do this to you? Did you try to take them on without me?" she asked, fussing over him like crazy. Drago shook his head, having a hard time to verbally reply.
"N-no! It was that idiot co-worker of yours... Jim." Drago wasn't sure how he even made it to Jade's house without totally passing out all the way. His head hurt so badly that he wished he wasn't immortal now. Death would end this suffering instantly, but then Jim would win. He had to tough it out as usual.
"Jim! What do you mean?" she asked, shocked. She thought Jim took the girls back to Section 13 with Carl. He disobeyed her just so he could fight with Drago. The thought made her very angry.
Drago slowly explained her the best he could in short detail what happened and how Carl was the one who shot him. Jade was so angry, she wasn't sure if she could stand it.
How dare they hurt her beloved Drago? This sort of thing would make him go back to his old evil ways again. And after all this time she was trying to make him 'human', they had to go and screw it up!
Jade knew Drago didn't trust people easily and she valued any trust she earned from him highly. If only two people harmed him, he would get revenge on all humans.
At least, that's what she understood about how demons thought, Shendu really thought like that all the time. There probably was no doubt he burned that kind of thinking into Drago.
She hoped she could get him not to go crazy and kill, kill, kill like before. That would ruin her plans in making him normal. The teen was shaking so much that Jade didn't know what she could do other than try a healing spell on him.
She did so, but it didn't seem to help enough. Drago kept on complaining that his head hurt like crazy and that he felt unbearably cold. She brought him some headache medicine and helped him take them.
It would take time to see if they would ease his headache. She hoped so. She wasn't sure if they would work on nephilims, but he still was half human so it should kind of work.
Jade covered him with a heavy blanket as he suffered on her couch, constantly groaning and cursing. He looked like he was freezing cold while his muscles sparked with raw energy as they twitched over and over on their own. He tried to summon fire from his hands, but he couldn't.
"What's wrong?" Jade asked, worried as she saw his distressed expression. Drago shook his head, very upset. "No! I knew it! My fire is out! I can't call out my fire power! Ugh!" He squeezed his eyes shut in disgust and humiliation. He wasn't weak, but he feared Jade might think he was then. It bothered him immensely. What was a dragon without his fire?
"Wait, I think I know of a way to ignite it." Jade said as she got an idea and went to her fireplace. She quickly started a fire there and brought out a portable air mattress.
She set it up close to the fireplace and helped Drago lay down on the air mattress. "Maybe laying near the fire will make you feel less cold, Drago." she said, getting another thick blanket for him.
He held the quilts close up to his horned chin as he continued to shake with icy shivers. Drago felt so much like an invalid, he couldn't stand it.
Jade went away to get some hot drinks for them. While she was in the kitchen, Drago wondered about things. Should he keep on staying with Jade and give up his plans of world conquest or just go back to his old ways of killing and eating the innocent, then take over the world?
He couldn't decide. His father had trained him to be the ultimate evil warrior, to kill and hurt all humans and to rule over them like an evil dictator.
He was sure that was what he wanted to do and that was his destiny. To hurt and kill while taking over the world. But now, he wasn't so sure anymore.
He was captivated by his first slave...girlfriend, Jade, with emotions he first thought he was immune to. She was human and so was he, well halfway he was.
His mother had begged him many times to be kind and human, not an evil monster like his father. The humans cared about him more than his demon father did.
Should he be loyal to the humans instead? They were his kind too, but then again, so were the demons...
"What should I do...?" he mumbled out loud, staring at the ceiling. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I just don't know anymore..." he said softly, hating the uncertainty within himself. This was not like him. He usually always knew what he wanted to do. But now, he didn't.
Drago turned his gaze to the fire in the fireplace. The flames danced beautifully, soothing his mind. He was close enough to reach into the fireplace and let the flames flow over his left claw.
It felt wonderful, the searing heat melted away the icy cold in his hand and slowly the heat moved up his arm. He pulled his claw out, clutching the flames fondly.
He opened his claw and watched the flames float away. He tried summoning his fire power once more. A slight sparking appeared, giving him some relief. Maybe once he was warmed up enough, he would be able to call upon his fire again.
He took a slow careful breath then and blew out cautiously. A small weak stream of fire flew out, but it all died out quickly. He narrowed his eyes. Those idiot humans, Jim and Carl, would pay dearly for this!
Jade came back then, carrying two cups of hot Jasmine tea, a teapot, and plenty of food, thick beef sandwiches. She handed him a cup and helped him drink it since he was still shaking. He finished the whole steaming cup in one gulp without stopping, surprising her.
"Wow, you must have been thirsty!" she exclaimed, patting his shoulder. She got up to refill his cup. Drago scowled, throwing a blanket over his shoulders and clutching the ends to his chin.
"Ergh! No, I'm thirsty for heat. I hate being cold like this!" he growled, rocking back and forth. He closed his eyes tightly as his body convulsed again. The hot tea wasn't hot enough. He needed more fiery heat.
Jade handed him a hot meaty sandwich. "Try this, I put in plenty of jalapeƱo peppers. They should help." He devoured it in less than a minute. She gave him the rest of the sandwiches, knowing how much he could eat.
"Have any raw bloody meat?" he asked, stuffing the food down his throat sloppily. She made a disgusted face. "Sorry, the last butchered cow I had has already been eaten by you. And besides I try not to buy the bloodiest meat at the store when I go grocery shopping."
Since the air mattress was large enough for two, she sat close to him with her cup of tea. "I'm sorry that you got attacked like you did, Drago. I never authorized the science team to enhance that electric ice water weapon. Jim probably did though."
The scaly teen stared at the wall in front of them hatefully. "Really? I would have never guessed." he answered sarcastically. He was very moody and testy now after being attacked by a weapon that actually could put his fire out faster and longer than just regular water.
The electrical shocks caused him much distress, blinding him with pain and confusion while the ice water destroyed his heat, making his fire power disappear temporarily.
He was very disgusted by how long it was taking him to recover. He usually could recover from most attacks within seconds to minutes, but this time it was taking him hours.
He couldn't use his own magic to heal himself since his brain hurt too much for him to even concentrate on any spells, let alone cast them.
This was all very bad for him and he had to find a way to destroy that weapon, including any information that created it in the first place. Hopefully the science team wasn't advanced enough to rebuild it and make more weapons like it fast enough again.
"I'm so sorry, Drago. I'll make it illegal for anyone else to use that weapon anymore." she said, looking at him. He gave her an upset, irritated glare.
"I want that weapon destroyed and the plans on how to make it gone. If you won't do that for me, then I will myself. I prefer to do it anyway." he growled, turning his head to look at the fireplace again. Since she didn't reply right away, he grew even more upset.
"Do you want me to die?" he asked bitterly, not telling her that he had the Immortality Talisman and he couldn't die anyway. He wondered why she didn't ask for the three Talismen he had taken.
He figured she probably forgot about them since she had too much on her mind already. He wanted it to stay that way.
If she asked for them back, he would say no, of course. They were his afterall, kind of an inheritance. They were his father's and if anyone else was to have them, it should be Drago only.
He was planning on taking the other Talismen eventually, but he wanted to do that after he got Jade to accept a very important proposal he was working up to ask her.
Jade shook her head as she grabbed his left arm, trying to get him to look at her. "No! Of course not! I'll get those weapons locked up in a vault and then I'll let you come to destroy them without letting anyone know you're at Section 13. I'll delete all the information and shred the blueprints. I don't want you to get hurt again. I love you."
Drago turned his eyes back on her, an approving half smirk appearing on his face. "And I love you back. I'm starting to feel a little better, thanks."
Jade looked relieved and gave him a fond smile. "I'm glad my big sweet gecko is getting better." she teased, hugging him then moved away with a flirting smile. The dragon teen scoffed playfully.
"So I'm still a gecko to you? Don't think I'm a dragon, huh?" he challenged, impishly. She gave him a coy sly look, teasing him more. "No way! You're a butt-ugly gecko, not a dragon." He moved his tail around her waist and pulled her closer to him. She happily laughed as she leaned against him.
"Then I'll have show you what a real dragon can do to a non-believer like yourself..." he purred sexily, before kissing her affectionately. She kissed back fondly, being so happy that he was alright again.
She explored his mouth with her tongue when he withdrew his. She realized not all his teeth were sharp like she always assumed they were.
What he had were almost like normal human flat molars, except his canine fangs were wickedly sharp and his front teeth were a bit on the sharp side. She never had a chance to really find out since he usually was stuffing his tongue into her mouth whenever they kissed.
Jade soon found herself on top of her lover and under the blanket with him. She felt him pressed up against her groin with his as she laid upon him, resting her head on the pillow built into the air mattress.
She dabbed loving kisses against his neck while he hugged her tightly to himself. She shifted to get more comfortable, making Drago moan in strong lust since her groin had inadvertently rubbed against his swollen member protruding upward within his pants.
"Don't tease me, Jade...! Give me my 'pay' now, quick! Ohh!" he cried, removing his belt sash in a hurry. Jade helped him get undressed and pulled off her own clothes soon after.
She positioned herself over him while he propped himself up against the nearby couch. He took hold of her sides with both claws and sat her down upon himself. Instantly the two started a love rhythm, first pumping slowly then bucking briskly.
Jade closed her eyes and let Drago move her up and down over his stiff manhood. It felt so good, she was soon losing herself in the erotic ecstasy. Her lover was hard at work, thrusting wildly.
She didn't hold back her ecstatic moans of lust while she bounced crazily. She grabbed her breasts in her hands and fondled them sexily. Eventually, she felt that warm excited feeling between her legs as she experienced a good orgasm coming on. She pumped harder until at last she released all over him, thrilling him into climaxing sooner than he wanted to.
Taking a short break, Drago felt well enough to get on top of her like he always did. He caressed her breasts with his fingers and tongue, exciting her rigid nipples easily. She begged him to penetrate her again. He stopped himself to say something.
"I dunno. Butt-ugly geckos can't give wicked hot sex, you know..." he teased, pinching and pulling her nipples with both his claws at the same time then. Jade groaned lecherously, bucking her hips hard.
"Ahh! Uhh! Ok, ok! Ohh! Mmm! You're a dragon! A hot wild sexy dragon!" she moaned, reaching her hands over his arms trying to get him to stop pulling her teats.
He let go of her sensitive nipples and placed his palms over her firm mounds, massaging them like if they were pieces of moist dough. He slipped into her, enjoying her slippery wet tight entrance. He pushed himself in and out, teetering on the edge of a fresh new orgasm.
Jade had since released twice, but he pumped on. He wanted the second climax to be better than the first one, which came too soon for him.
Sweat glistened off Jade's curvy body, her breasts looking more and more appetizing to her lover. He sucked and tasted them thoroughly, loving her enchanted lustful squealing and moaning.
A third orgasm exploded from Jade, but still Drago thrusted. He would stop and start over and over, reliving that salacious journey to a sweet climax again and again.
He wanted his to be nerve-wracking, like his first one was the day before. He felt Jade orgasm a fourth time, then a fifth. Her juices were coming out less and less, he could tell she was nearly empty like he was yesterday.
Jade laid on the mattress, her sexual drive nearly all used up by now. She just closed her eyes and let Drago pump her like a doll. Half asleep, she faintly felt herself orgasm a sixth time when she thought heard strange constant low growling from her lover.
Suddenly, Drago climaxed viciously, his semen exploding into her and flowing down from her buttocks onto the mattress in heavy wide streams. He roared his lascivious hot pleasure loudly then, growling and groaning at the same time in lust that almost sounded like he was in agony.
More semen flowed out of him in thicker chunks of white matter. He carefully began to remove himself then, white thick semen spurting out still. Jade whimpered sexily again like she did the day before. She couldn't help it, it always felt so good, yet was somewhat painful whenever he pulled his swollen long manhood out of her after a long intercourse session.
"Ohhh, I love how you whimper like that, Jade... Love it..." he purred lewdly, stretching hard then. Jade smiled fondly at him. "And I love how thick and long and hard you are." she purred back, jiggling her groin to feel the last bits of sexual gratification. She closed her eyes and groaned happily.
"I told you I'd show you what a real dragon can do..." he said seductively. Jade was already falling asleep then, her fingers still at her juicy vaginal region. "Mm-hm..." she mumbled, drifting into a strong sleep.
Drago reached for her hand and licked her fingers dry. He stroked her slopping wet vagina gently with his claws, scooping up her sex nectar and licking his fingers clean. He continued to caress her, loving the slick wet feeling between her flesh wings, pushing three clawed digits into her to touch her inside. Her sexual scent smelled like roses to him, she was just so delicious.
Slowly, his thoughts wandered off to a more darker side. How delicious was her meat anyway? Was she sweeter than his other victims he devoured before he met Jade?
His demonic side urged him to just tear open her groin and feast upon her sexual organs and intestines. The taste of blood was what he wanted... Yes... Her blood would be the most tasty...
Eat her now! Do it! Take her soul, hurry, you fool! His demon blood screamed at him endlessly, but he couldn't eat Jade. He might have way back when he first met her, but he had enjoyed way too much good sex with her to just throw it all away now. She helped him when he was hurt and felt ill. Besides all that, he truly loved her.
'No... I can't eat her... I won't! I love her...' he thought. Immediately, his demon side made him feel guilty, foolish, and weak. Love? What kind of nonsense is that? Nephilims do NOT love, period!
'Well, I do...' Drago argued back to himself. And with that thought, he laid down next to Jade and let sleep take him.
"Hey, hey!" he cried out as she ran over him, rushing to get ready for work. "What's wrong with you walking all over me like that?" Jade ran off to her room saying, "I'm late for work, again!"
Drago rolled his eyes and fell back against the pillow. "Oh no." he said sarcastically. He luxuriously stretched like a cat and yawned, emitting a dragon-like noise. He curled up to sleep more.
Jade reappeared moments later with her Section 13 uniform on. "Ok, Drago. I have to go to work now. Are you going to stay here today?" He looked up at her, yawning again. He turned over, facing away from her.
"I don't know. Maybe..." he mumbled, obviously not in the mood to talk. He wanted to sleep more. "Ok, well, just be around when I need you when I take down the SS operation. Alright?" she said, making sure. Last thing she needed was to have him forget to come and help out.
"Yeah, yeah..." he replied, motioning weakly with his claw laying on his hip. Jade checked her watch and rushed off then. "Ok, I gotta go! Don't eat all my food, Drago!"
She worried the entire time as she went to work. She knew Jim would chew her out for seeing Drago. He had seen them together, well Drago had said Jim was spying on them.
Besides feeling nervous and guilty, she felt angry. She had given him an assignment and he didn't do it. Instead he invaded her privacy by following and spying on her. Grrr!
Preparing herself for a big confrontation with Jim, she boldly went into her office and went about her usual duties. After an hour went by, Jade wondered why Jim hadn't come in her office. At some point, Melissa the nurse came in and asked her where she was.
"Where have you been, Jade? Didn't you know your second-in-command is in the infirmaries?" she asked, making Jade jump out of her chair. Ever since Jade kicked Drake aka Drago out of Section 13, Jim got his old job back.
"Jim? He's hurt? What do you mean? What happened, Missy?" she asked, going over to Melissa. She looked surprised as Jade was.
"He was brought in by Carl last night. Carl said that Drago attacked Jim and broke his leg. He lost a lot of blood and almost died. We have him stabilized now. I thought you knew, but since you weren't checking up on him, I had to find out why. Are you alright?" Melissa asked, concerned.
Jade shook with strong emotions. "I'm fine, Missy." she said in a stiff voice. Drago never told her that he broke Jim's leg or that he almost killed him! Why was he making more trouble for himself? In a way, it made Jade feel like it was her fault since she didn't 'train' Drago well enough to behave.
And in another way, it was her fault since they were fighting over her and she didn't tell Jim right away that she had picked Drago to be her lover. Jim should give up on her once he knew that Jade was taken, though he probably wouldn't accept it too well.
She hurried over to the infirmaries in a flash then. Even though she was angry at Jim for disobeying her orders, spying on her, and getting Drago hurt badly, he was still her friend and he was wounded too. After confirming his condition was improving with the doctor on site, she was let in to see Jim.
His first happy looks turned to bitter glares of resentment as he saw her. He turned away from her as she walked closer to his sick bed. She saw his leg covered in a cast and propped up. He had bandages in various places, probably where he had been scratched and clawed by Drago.
He also had so many bruises it looked like a little kid had colored him with magic markers all over. But these were real injuries, bad ones. Similar to ones Jade suffered herself when she first took on Drago when she met him for the first time. Jade bit her lip and shook her head. This was her fault!
"Jim..." she began, feeling terrible and guilty. "I-I...I'm sorry this happened..." Jim looked at her sharply, his eyes narrowed hatefully.
"I heard you were late again today..." he said in a upset tone, hinting something.
"I had another bad headache again, that's all." she lied, knowing he wouldn't buy it this time around. But what could she say? That she had enjoyed wild sex with Drago the night before and slept in due to it?
Jim could immediately tell that Jade had been with Drago all night, he knew it the moment he found out she was late today. Drago's evil stink was all over her and it irritated Jim. A lot. She never had any headaches, she was with Drago the entire time she left Jim's side! That thought made him angry and jealous to death.
"I don't know why you're lying to me, Jade."
"Huh?"
She stopped to look at him. The hurt angry expression on his face struck her like lightning. She knew that he knew she had been with Drago the two days before. He had seen them together. It was pretty obvious, there was no hiding it now. She felt guilty and couldn't conceal it.
"You didn't have a headache this morning OR the morning before... You were with him... I can tell. I KNOW! I can sense his evil wretched stink all over you now!" Jim said hatefully, his jealousy growing stronger. He waited to see if Jade would try to lie more or tell the truth to him.
Jade said nothing, knowing anything she said would only make him more mad. Her silence made him angry as well, so he continued on.
"I know I'm right. I saw what I saw... And you're not denying it either..."
"Jim, please... Understand... I...I care about him... A lot. But I care about you too." Jade said, looking at him, but he turned away from her. How could he believe she cared about him too when she was fooling around with a monster like Drago? Jim just couldn't understand that.
Since Jim didn't say anything for almost two minutes, Jade closed her eyes and hung her head. "I don't know if you understand, but I've got work to do. I'm sorry. I still want to be your friend, ok?"
Those words stabbed him hard, enraging him with fresh fury. Friends? She dared to insult him like that when she frolicked around with Drago giving him her love when it was only Jim who deserved to have her? She was his and only his!
"No, Jade. I want you and I to be more than just friends..." he growled the last word hatefully. "I love you! But you don't give a d-mn! You think you love some murderous monster off the street when you should be loving me! I'm human, he's NOT! Why can't you understand you're aiding the enemy? You can't change him! He's a monster!"
"He is NOT a monster!" Jade cried, her guilt disappearing into strong anger. She was working hard to make sure Drago wasn't a heartless beast anymore. She wasn't about to let anyone tell her that her love couldn't change someone for the better. Absolutely not!
"And I'm not aiding the enemy!" She continued on. "Haven't you noticed how there isn't any activity from Drago lately? No more attacks, assaults, killings? That's because I'm changing him for the better! He can be normal and good and-..." Jade stopped, figuring it was useless to try and get Jim to see what she was trying to do.
"There was plenty activity from him last night! Look at me! Do you think he should get away with trying to kill me? How about the countless others he's hurt or killed? He HAS to be brought to justice, don't you understand? Do you think it's fair to just let him get away with all the crimes he's committed? Just because you favor him doesn't mean you can allow him to go unpunished!" Jim cried, trying to get her to understand.
"I...I know that." Jade said, feeling defeated. Jim was right about that. Drago did need to serve time or something to punish him for his crimes. But she was just overlooking all that since she no longer cared due to her love for him. She had forgiven him, but still justice had to be served.
"You know where he is, but yet you do nothing and let him escape every time... WHY?" Jim said, still upset. Jade felt her eyes burn with hot tears.
"I...I figured he'd be less dangerous if I befriended him. Like I said, there HAS been less activity from him ever since I've become his friend. Well, except for last night..." Jade added quickly under Jim's angry glare.
"Anyway, he's agreed to help us against other bad guys, like Marlone, so it's better this way. He can help Section 13!" Jade tried to justify herself, but it was hard to explain. Especially to Jim.
"Oh yeah right, Jade." Jim replied sarcastically. "He really did help Section 13 as Drake by poisoning everyone. People died because of that! And that monster has murdered so many others before that incident! And you think you can 'trust' him to 'help' again? Are you CRAZY?"
Jade cringed at the loudness of his voice. "He's not like that anymore! He's changing...for the better! I can tell! He can help us!" she argued back, feeling more upset by every passing moment. How many times did she have to repeat that Drago could help them and get Jim to understand that it was true?
"Oh, yeah right! He really helped me out with getting my leg busted and draining most of my blood out of my body! That's some great help alright." Jim replied bitterly in a strong sarcastic tone. He couldn't figure out why Jade wouldn't understand his side of things. She HAD to be under a spell. She couldn't really be this blind by herself, could she?
"Well, if you hadn't been spying on us and following Drago around, you wouldn't have gotten hurt like this! Duh! It's your own fault! If you had just stayed away from him, you would have been fine! Just leave him AND me alone!" Jade yelled back at him, then turned to exit the room.
"You won't be fine when I send my report on you to Captain Black." Jim threatened, his anger controlling him into saying what he would never say otherwise.
With the dark chi and animosity flowing through him, it was easy for him to threaten her again. He justified it by believing it was the only way to make Jade wake up and see that she belonged to him, not Drago.
Jade shot her eyes to his then. "And what's that supposed to mean?" she demanded hotly, knowing exactly what it meant. Jim glared at her, his eyes not at all the same like they were when he was good ol' friendly Jim. These eyes were hateful and cold... And very jealous.
"When he finds out how you're aiding the enemy constantly on a daily basis, he'll remove you from Section 13. You're leaving me no choice, but to send the report to him if you don't leave Drago for good." Jim said, threatening her more.
"Jim! I can't believe you! How can you be like this?" she cried, shaking. Was Jim trying to blackmail her? This is Jim we're talking about here! He used to be a powder puff mouse-man type of guy, now he was weird, scary, controlling, and threatening.
"No, how can you be like this, Jade? You're not the same person I've known since we were kids..."
"Same here, Jim. You said you'd give up black magic, but you placed a dark chi spell on me so Drago can't find me. Ch, as long as I stayed near you that is. So, tell me. What happened to you? If you cared anything about me, you would have given up on black magic right away, like I asked you to! But you didn't! You hexed me instead! You're no better than Drago that way!" she cried, then stared at Jim in fear as soon as she saw his expression.
"Don't you ever compare me to that monster again!" he stated in a low dangerous tone. "I had no choice, but to place that spell on you. I have to protect you from him since you won't stay away from danger! Don't you see? I need this magic, I can't afford to give it up! Not until you are mine, Jade! Do you hear me?"
An uncontrollable surge of jealous and rageful emotions flowed throughout Jim like wild fire. Jade was his, but Drago was in his way! If he wanted Jade, he would have to get rid of Drago for good. The dark chi in Jim was making him more controlling and more hateful every passing day. He desired Jade and no one else should be allowed to have her, but him. Period!
"Jim! You don't know what you're saying! Listen to yourself! The dark chi is changing you for the worse!" Jade cried, worried for him. She went to him as he glared at her.
"No it isn't! I know how to handle it! That monster is stealing you away from me... I won't allow it! I won't! I'll kill him, I swear it!" he cried, shaking with rage and gritting his teeth. Jade stared at him like he was crazy, tears stinging her eyes again. She couldn't let him or anyone kill Drago. She loved him too much.
"Don't you dare! I love him!" she blurted out in emotion. It was Jim's turn to stare at her like she was insane. He was at a loss for words at first, then he took on the most hateful enraged expression.
"If you value your job, you'll leave him and come to me. Do you understand?" he stated in a low tight furious voice, causing Jade worry to death. He WAS blackmailing her!
"Don't try to blackmail me, Jim. I'm the boss here and I can fire you first, you know." Jade threatened back, worried that Jim might become an obsessed nutcase and stalker. He might even try to kill her if he wanted to! She had to be really careful now.
"Go ahead, I'll still come for you Jade. I told you, nothing will stop me from making you mine..." Jim replied, his eyes dark and evil, worse than ever. It was like the old Jim was gone and this new scary guy had taken over.
She couldn't stand to look at him anymore. His eyes reminded her of how Drago's eyes were when she first met him. A dangerous stranger out to kill her and her loved ones. Without another word, Jade raced to the door.
Jade left the room quickly and then sadly went back to her office. She locked her office door and sat down at desk. She felt one hot tear fall after another swiftly as she cried hard.
She just knew something like this would happen. Jim was gone and something evil had taken his place. He would probably tell Captain Black everything now. Her job security was in jeopardy now. What could she do?
She definitely couldn't give up Drago. She just couldn't. No way. Never. Even if she did, Drago would flip-out worse than Jim and go back to his awful evil ways again. He did promise to do so ten-fold if she rejected him. A threat she no longer worried about now since they were such good friends... War buddies... Lovers...
Way back at first, she did comply with Drago to keep him from hurting and killing people, but not because she wanted to. But now, she wanted to since she had fallen in love with Drago. She couldn't leave him even if it cost her everything, even her life.
She thought maybe she should call Captain Black herself before Jim got to talk to him first. Maybe he would understand her better. He had known her since she was a kid and she was like family to him. She picked up her cel phone and began to dial Black's number. She stopped.
Jade didn't feel up to it yet. If she told Captain Black anything, he probably would tell Jackie something was up and then he would tell Uncle and Tohru. Then they would come after her for more details. Uncle would grill her until she eventually told them everything, including the part where she was in love with Drago. No, she didn't want that. Not now.
The rest of the day was a blur of mind-numbing work and checking up on surveillance. She avoided thinking about Jim as much as she could. What if he had someone else, like his buddy Carl, send that report for him already? She hated to admit it, but Jim had power over her now. He could blackmail her easily and she would most likely lose her job instantly.
If she fired him, then there would be no doubt he would go all evil black chi and stalk her, while trying to kill Drago and maybe her too even. What could she do?
If she was fired, she wouldn't be able to get another job like her old one easily, especially since she was sure Captain Black would be forced to put on her record that she helped a dangerous criminal continuously. No other agency would trust her for anything, her career would be ruined forever!
She could live with Drago maybe using Shendu's dragon treasure, but her pride wouldn't allow it. She was a self-made independent woman, not a leech. She had to keep this butt-kicking, exciting job at Section 13.
She was the best for the job too, she knew how to handle bad guys. She was cunning, clever, brave, and smart. Jim didn't have all those skills and certainly didn't have the right frame of mind anymore.
And Jim was wrong in a way about her not capturing Drago. She had already captured him. She had captured his heart.
But her making friends with the enemy, no matter how much she tried to justify it, was not acceptable. Though he assured her that her job position wouldn't be yanked out from under her, there were some things they had to discuss.
"I'm sorry, Jade. I appreciate you trying to help, but making Drago your pal won't do us any good. He's too dangerous to be trusted. I recommend you stay away from him. There's no telling when he'll attack again. But when you do see him again, stall him while you call for reinforcements so they can detain and confine him until he can be put on trial. He'll probably get the chair or needle for his crimes, but what has to be done has to be done." Black said.
Jade felt sick terribly. No way could she do that. She couldn't. She wouldn't!
"But wouldn't he be a much better help alive? I mean, I know him now, Captain Black. He saved my life more than once." Jade pleaded, hoping she could get him to understand somehow. "He's really strong and packing big fire power. He can be a really big help to us. Please, give him one last chance! Please!"
Black was silent for awhile before he replied. "Jade... Why is it so important? You sound like you actually care for this criminal..."
"N-no! I don't! I-I just think everyone deserves one last chance..." Jade said, not wanting to let on that she was crazy for the fire-breathing teenager.
She heard Black make a tired sigh. "I'm not supposed to allow something like this, but alright. One last chance. Give me a report how he helps with the SS operation take down and I'll see if I can get his charges lessened. But if he returns to his old ways, I'll be forced to put an all out man-hunt for his head. Understand?"
"Yes sir!" Jade happily replied. With her love changing Drago for good, she was confident that he would stay out of trouble. "Thank you, Captain Black! I'll let you know how it turns out." She was so glad that Captain Black seemed to understand her. Her job was safe!
"See that you do. In the meantime, I'll reprimand Jim for violating company rules. Don't worry about him and try to avoid him for awhile to let things cool down a bit. Take care, kiddo."
Jade agreed and hung up the phone. She checked her watch and saw it was time to go home. Good, she was very tired, mentally that is. She was glad during her shift she was able to get all those water-electric guns all collected and put away in a vault next to the one holding Shendu.
She made sure everyone knew that those guns were illegal now and were not to be used without permission from her first. She began to walk home, thinking about many things all at once.
Captain Black had said that if Drago did anything bad again, he personally would send out a task force to collect him. Jade couldn't protect Drago if they decided to kill him off. She was sure a lot of blood would be spilled if they even tried to capture him and she didn't want that.
She still needed him to help her out on missions. There would always be more bad guys and take downs to do. Drago would be great backup help for all of those situations. She could have him do good things instead. It would be a waste and a shame to just kill off a great fighter like him.
As Jade rounded a corner to go through an alley, she stopped dead in her tracks. StrikeMaster Ice was there before her, like he was looking for her.
"What do you guys want now?" she asked, taking a fighting stance. She didn't trust this jerk even if he was Drago's 'friend'. Ice held up his hands as if he didn't mean any harm.
"Hold up, little lady! Don't worry, yo. I'm just delivering a quick message since D-man can't finds ya. He says he wants you to meet him in the woods behind the Trekville Mall. So go on and get your pretty behind over there. That dude hates to wait." he said, then walked off. "Yeah, thanks for the message." Jade said, watching him go away with wary eyes.
She didn't care if he had to wait more, she was going home first to have a bite to eat, then wash and change her clothes. Eventually, she finished having a quick dinner, showered, and put on a tank top under a sweater and jeans. She grabbed her jacket and tucked her wallet into her jeans pocket before locking her house up.
She went back to the street and called a cab to take her to the Trekville Mall. It wasn't really all that close by, but it wasn't as far away as the Slipper Sipper or the abandoned warehouses.
When she was there, she paid the cab driver and got out of the car. She went to the woods behind the mall, trying not to draw any attention to herself as she did. She felt a bit silly wandering around the woods aimlessly for several minutes.
"Drago? Drago? Where are you?" she called in a hushed voice. Suddenly, she felt like she being watched, then the next moment she was grabbed from behind. A hand covered her mouth as she screamed out in shock while being held in a tight crushing hold.
A sexy proud laugh exploded in her ears. She kicked herself free and glared at him. "Drago!" she cried, angry at him for scaring her again. He laughed some more, pleased with himself for hunting and catching her perfectly.
"You jerk! Why were you sneaking up on me like that for? What do you want me here for anyway?" she growled, irritated. Drago waved a finger at her.
"Now now, you should be nice to me. It's my birthday and I expect presents." he said playfully, in that cute mood Jade adored. Her irritation melted away to forgiveness and surprise.
"Your birthday is on Halloween? Wow! That's really cool!" Jade said with a smile. Drago smiled back. "I know! I can go out in the human world without needing a human disguise. I can get free candy for looking like myself."
Jade burst out giggling then. "You want to go Trick-or-Treating? Aren't you too old for that?" she asked, going up next to him and taking her hand into his. He squeezed it lovingly, bringing her hand up to his lips to kiss.
"Come on, Jade. We're never too old for candy. Really, I wanted you to see me win this costume contest going on in the mall. I guarantee you I'll win. Let's go!" he said, leading her out of the woods and into the mall.
Jade felt a strange happy feeling flow over her. She was actually in a normal public place with a lot of people around while being with Drago in his real scaly green form. Plenty of people were in costume. Jade saw fairies, princesses, and people dressed as animals. There were also monsters like vampires, mummies, zombies, ghosts, demons, the wolfman, and tons more.
Some were dressed up in cute pretty costumes such as the fairies and princesses or famous characters from TV shows. Some were in scary demonic costumes with dripping fake blood, scars, cuts, and pale grey skins. But none were like Drago. Many people commented him as he walked past.
"Hey, man! That's some great costume! Wow!"
"I can't believe how real it looks! You're gonna win for sure!"
"You look just like a lizard man! Man, that's awesome!"
"How much did that costume cost? It must have been a lot, it's superb!"
Jade watched Drago go fill out a registration form. He asked when the judging would begin and the woman at the desk said it would be in half an hour.
"You can go shop around the mall if you want to. Just be back by eight o'clock." she said. Drago left the booth as Jade followed him. He gave her a happy look.
"Ok, Jade. For the next thirty minutes, you MUST treat me to lots of candy and presents." he said cutely. Jade shook her head with a laugh. "You are such a kid. Alright, let's get you some candy and I'll get you a present. You should have told me sooner, I would have bought you something ahead of time." she said, linking her arm through his as they walked to a store that sold only sweets.
"Yeah well, I would have, but I was too busy having so much fun with you." he said, feeling as if telling her earlier wasn't really all that important. But what he had in his inner coat pocket was important. Very important. He had seen his mother's 'wedding' ring that his father had given her.
It was beyond beautiful, encrusted rare gems and huge diamonds. Meechi had told him that Shendu had created it from his very being. In his dismay, Drago discovered he couldn't create anything out of his body like how his dad could.
Instead of cursing out his human blood for this limitation, he improvised. While he was out during the afternoon in human disguise, he went the finest jewelry shops in the city to get the best ring he could find that looked something like his mother's ring.
Eventually, he found a ring that looked close enough to Meechi's ring. It had three large diamonds in the middle and was dripping with other rare precious gems that decorated the sides.
Drago could tell what was quality and what was real since he had played with his father's treasure as a child and learned more about gems and gold when he was older. He knew what was what by just looking at it with his perfect vision.
Jade shopped at different stores, getting Drago the candy he wanted. She desperately thought of a good gift to give him for his birthday that would impress him and make him happy.
She thought of various adult toys, lubricants, and sex food, but those things weren't special enough. They probably would make him happy, but they wouldn't impress him.
As they walked to the next store, Jade caught a glimpse of shining metallic items from a jewelry shop. She had a great idea then. She didn't want him to go with her since she wanted her present to be a surprise.
She was able to get him to stay at a fast food burger restaurant and bought him plenty of food, more than he could eat quickly. At least, she hoped it would be more than enough. To her relief, he happily sat down to eat away, not caring about following her.
She saw that his hand got ketchup on it from one of the burgers, so she hastily wiped his hand, but really she was trying to get his ring size with the help of a stiff paper napkin.
She told him she would be right back and by the way he answered, she could tell he didn't care much. He was too busy trying to eat all the burgers since he was hungry. Good.
Jade rushed back to the jewelry shop and after much browsing, she found a special ring that was close to his ring size, though it was a tad bit smaller. Just the same, she was sure it would make an impression.
While Jade was gone, Drago devoured the twelve burgers in record time. A family of three sat at a table several feet away from him in the middle of the shop. The mother stayed at the table with her six year old son while her husband went to order for them.
The six year old boy stared at Drago like crazy, trying to figure out how a costume like that could look so real. Drago grinned evilly and let out a strange low growling hiss that spooked the boy instantly.
He cried and ran to his mother at the other side of the table. The woman gave Drago a mean look and relocated her family to a different table further away from the naughty teen.
Drago chuckled evilly to himself, a deep demonic giggle that he hadn't laughed in a long time. He had spent so much time with Jade, he had forgotten how fun it was to scare other people.
He had a sudden terrible urge to attack the family and decapitate the mother before the boy's eyes while eating the father's intestines.
But he knew Jade wouldn't like that and the security guards there would get after him. He did promise to behave while she willingly was his slave...girlfriend.
It had been so long since he had tasted fresh human blood, let alone have it spurt into his face while he tore open a chest to get at a beating heart. Now he was eating dry cooked beef and it just wasn't the same. He loved the strong salty sweet taste of blood, he missed it plenty.
Still, he cared about Jade and what she wanted. He sighed, a bit annoyed that he actually had to give up eating people once and for all. That was going to be really hard to get used to! He stood up to get another drink since his jumbo sized cup was empty.
When Jade got back, she was shocked to see he had finished the burgers and was finishing off another twenty ounces of soda that he bought himself. She looked at her watch, letting him know it was time to go back to the costume contest.
"Oh yeah, now you'll see who's gonna win. Me." he said confidently and proudly. Jade rolled her eyes. "Of course, Scaly. Let's go." She was in a hurry to get the costume contest over with so she could show him her present and see his reaction to it. She couldn't wait!
