Beautiful Smile

Outside Fate, I look up, the snow’s falling fast
I know that it’s going to be a while
My mind’s eternally crowded with pictures from my past
But all I can see is your beautiful smile

Are you lonely? Frightened? Will you turn up soon?
I shudder; this city’s not a safe place
My blue eyes glazed with worry, I look up at the full moon
And in its light I see your angellic face

I wonder where you’re from, if you’ll have to go back
That would be good for you, but bad for me
Because all those years, what I lacked
Was someone loving, like you, to help me see

I look up again, the sky grows darker as clouds crowd the sky
My eyes light up, and suddenly I don’t mind if it’ll be a while
I’m not worried because I know that time is ticking by
And I’ll run home, and when I open the the door, I’ll see your beautiful smile.
