It’s becoming a nightmare. He’d swear over and over in his head that he didn’t mean to hurt anyone, but he’s since realized the old saying is true: the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
He knows he should stop - they all know they should stop. And he’s tried, God, he’s tried. He stays at home and wonders how he let this spiral so far out of control until he can’t take it anymore, and even though he’s telling himself to stay away he ends up on Warrick’s doorstep, needing to forget everything and just feel. For a moment he does that, forgets it and feels, until the heat cools down and he’s staring at the ceiling, sick with guilt and feeling like he’s holding the weight of the world on his shoulders.
How could he fall in love with two completely different men?
Guilt, however, is pushed to the background when Warrick’s rough hands are on his waist and warm lips meet each other with the same insatiable hunger every time. But when it’s over, and they’re in bed, sticky with sweat and cum he just wants to cry, because he knows Nick’s a little more broken every time he goes back to him.
And go back to him he will, the next night or sometimes right away, and he’ll fall into Nick’s arms and bed and let Nick kiss him gently. He wants to stop every time, just tell Warrick he really can’t do this anymore, because this kissing and caressing is Nick’s silent way of begging him to stay, just be with him, please. He surrenders every time, just as silently, but they both know Greg will be back in Warrick’s bed the next night.
Tonight is different, although, because the hopeful look in Nick’s eyes is gone, replaced by a resignation of sorts, and Greg stays awake all night crying.
He never meant to hurt anyone.
He’s back at Warrick’s the next night, but it’s for the last time and he knows what he’s doing is right. Only leaving Vegas means leaving Nick as well, and he knows that if he sees Nick he’ll never follow through and they’ll be stuck in this spin cycle the rest of their lives.
So even though he knows it’s cowardly, he drops a note on Nick’s doorstep instead of a real goodbye.
And in his heart, he lets them go.
