"They also serve who only stand and wait,"
But oh, it's torture watching through a screen,
Helpless to touch or alter what I've seen,
And any help I send might be too late.
How strange, to hold a life within my hands
When I have hidden all my days in steel
And wires, so I wouldn't have to feel
Or bear the pain that real life demands.
God grant me strength to do what must be done,
And wisdom grant, that I may find his way.
God grant to me courage for which I pray,
To help me stand when I just want to run.
God, help me bear the images I see,
And oh, God, please, don't take my friend from me.
