I suppose that what I have done is wrong, using Padmé like this. But the ends, in this case, may justify the means.

Anakin is no more. He has become Darth Vader, and that is what matters now. If he is not stopped, by anyone's hands, his decision to become a Sith might as well have been chosen for him. He will forever be an agent of evil. And that is something I cannot let happen.

Everything is so much clearer now. Anakin was in love with her. I should have seen it; I should have known. Ever since that day three years ago, when they met again. He even said it himself:

Just being around her again is… intoxicating.

Palpatine has been twisting Anakin around his finger since the beginning… And I have been too blind to see it. I might as well have pushed him off the edge.

Master Yoda has warned us of the Dark Side's coming for a long time. And it has come closer, closer, right under our noses to strangle us.

To destroy us. And we did not see it.

Anakin has become the very evil he has sworn to protect the Republic against. And it is all my fault.

All my fault. So I have stowed away on Padmé's ship, to stop him.

It is all I can do.

Geez, that was one of the shortest fics I have ever written… Maybe I'll continue it, I dunno. That was perhaps the fastest fic I have ever written... 5 1/2 minutes; whew!
