Chapter 7- The Eight Forsaken Part 2
Catherine and Christine
After the singing incident, as it was now referred to, the Potter family kept a close eye on their youngest children.
However, both went on as normally as before. Catherine was locked away in her room which was normal for her. Christine was spending time in the garden, which was also normal for her.
The Potter’s did feel somewhat guilty when they thought about how little they knew about the twins and tried to remedy this, but all the got from Catherine was a dark glare while Christine acted like she didn’t hear the question.
They asked the teachers about the twins but none of them could say much except for that they handed in work on time and usually got full marks. Their year mates were asked, and they said that Christine was pleasant enough but usually kept to herself. Catherine’ dorm mates said she was cold to them and usually was seen with her sister.
It wasn’t until a few days later that something came up. It was the middle of the night and Lily wanted something to eat. She was headed downstairs when she noticed the light lit dimly in the living room. She crept to the door and looked inside. Catherine was laid on the sofa in a rather seductive position. However it seemed natural. She was wearing a brown top and grey trousers, both of which were tight. Her feet were bare. Her brown hair had been pulled back in a clip, making her look very elegant and regal. There was an air of danger around her that Lily was not sure she liked.
It was then that she heard a patter of footsteps from the hall opposite her, which also led into the living room from the library. She saw her youngest come into view. However she found it hard to recognise her. She was totally different.
The traces of a sneer were on her face. She wore dark eye shadow and her eyes shone with an awareness she did not usually have. Her blonde locks were pulled back into a clip, which left half of her hair down. She was wearing a black top, long sleeved but tight that showed off her doll like figure well (just as her sister’s did). She was wearing a black skirt that fell in soft waves to her knees. Her feet were bare. In her hand she held a book.
“Find anything?” Catherine asked, her voice clear and quiet. She hadn’t even looked at her twin.
“No. Usurprisingly the Potter Library lacks books in Dark Arts.” Christine drawled as she sat opposite her sister, her legs automatically positioning themselves in a sexy and elegant way.
Lily from her spot by the door gasped softly. Dark Arts?
“How are we meant to know how to fight Death Eaters if we don’t know what we are up against?” Catherine questioned her twin, her dark eyes finally moving towards Christine.
“That’s the thing; they don’t expect us to fight.” Christine answered, her voice bitter and sarcastic. This surprised and shocked Lily. She never heard her daughter use such a tone before.
“Well, I refuse to be helpless.” Catherine stood up, her eyes glancing into the shadows and Lily swore Catherine knew she was there.
“Well, how about we check out the books at HQ?” Christine suggested.
“Fine. Now, I’m off to go get a Charms book. Maybe I can figure out some booby traps with a lot of gore for the Death Eaters to come across here.” Catherine said before walked down towards the library.
“Pretty fucked up that.” Christine called after her.
“We’ve done some other fucked up things in our time dear sister.” Catherine’s voice called back, and her form disappeared from view. After a few minutes, Christine sighed before going upstairs and presumably to her room.
Lily just crept back upstairs into her and James’s room. Looking over at her husband she was slightly annoyed that James was sleeping peacefully, small snores coming from him, when their daughters were clearly not as they thought. Especially Christine. She wanted to blame Catherine but knew deep down that this was something more.
With Christine
Christine opened the door to her room and smiled when she saw Catherine sitting in one of the chairs.
“Is Mother dearest back in her room?” Catherine asked.
“Yes. Good thing we knew she was there.” Christine said with a smug smile as she sat on the bed, her legs crossed underneath her.
“True. Now I’m guessing we will have to find another way to bug HQ?” Catherine questioned whilst cocking her head to one side.
“Yeah, unfortunately.” Christine sighed.
“Now, why don’t we go for a walk?” Catherine asked as she stood. Black light shoes appeared on her feet as a black shawl fell on her shoulders. Christine nodded and the same thing happened with her. They both smiled at one another before a mist surrounded the pair and they vanished from the room.
If Lily or any other member had bothered to look out of the window, they would have seen the twins walking around the ground, they might have heard the soft laughter coming from the pair, and they might have seen Ginny join them along with a dark haired man in a burst of flames.
