Innocence Lost

In the life of every person, there comes a day when those rose-tinted-glasses break. I remember the day I saw the world for real for the first time. You showed me the true meaning of friendship… the true meaning of love.

Hotaru Tomoe, my best friend, and yet my opposite in every way. You were the one who showed me the darkness within the light. You were the one who took me from purity. You took me from my childhood, my innocence. My innocence lost…

I was only sweet sixteen, on that day. You were only seventeen. Another grand ball had been held at the palace. You and I went back to your quarters.

We'd both had a fair bit of champagne to drink, and we were both a bit tipsy. We sat down on your bed, and then you kissed me. Your lips tasted sweet as candy and yet as sour as strawberries.

I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say. I blushed a shade of lobster-red, and asked, "Hotaru, what did you just do that for?"
You just smiled and said, "I love you, Usako".

I thought it was the drink talking for you, but I looked into your deep, vortex-like eyes, and realised that you were saying what you had wanted to tell me for years.

I looked at you, suddenly noticing how beautiful you were. You looked like a fallen angel. I leant forward and kissed you. You bit my lip, drawing blood. I groaned.

Then something overtook my senses; maybe it was love, but maybe it was lust. I began to undo the back of your violet dress. It fell to the floor and pooled around your feet, leaving you sitting on the bed in nothing but your black undergarments. You smirked, and said, "So, you finally realised. I've been after you for years, Usako".

You then pulled my fuchsia dress over my head, and undid the clasp of my bra. I remember you biting my collarbone, and pushing me down onto the bed.

After that, we ended up spending the night together. In the morning, my mother found us together. She was appalled at first, but Haruka and Michiru managed to calm her down, eventually.

And that was it. We married the next year.

But when I think of my childhood, I always think about how the light of innocence was taken from me. And at times I reflect upon my childhood, my purity, my innocence, my innocence lost. But I have you beside me for eternity now, and my loss of innocence is made up for by your love. Thank you for showing me reality, Hotaru-chan.
