A/N: for those who have seen the movie, did you guys realize that the whole entire movie was action? Besides the part where Yukina shows up. Every second its Oh My Gosh! This is happening, that’s happening. So I’ve decided to put my style of writing to work and do an after thought. Hope you all enjoy!
Chapter 1: who the hell is she!
Botan laid on a mat in one of the many rooms in Genkia’s temple, along with Yukina, Keiko, and Genkia herself. Hiei walked in the room and Genkia sat up.
“Don’t waist your energy old onna,” Hiei said and she laid back down.
“Come here for a second Hiei,” Genkia said and Hiei walked over to her side. When he reached her she latched on to his arm.
“What the hell are you doing?” Hiei asked.
“You’re strong. You have nothing to do. Watch over my temple while I’m ill,” Genkia said.
“Why should I damn it?” Hiei glared.
“If not for me… for Keiko, Botan, and Yukina,” Genkia said and Hiei’s eye’s softened a bit but snapped back to a glare as quickly as it had disappeared.
“Fine. Just get the hell off me,” Hiei said and Genkia let go and Hiei walked out of the room.
“Thank you,” Genkia whispered and fell asleep.
OUTSIDE
Rikku, a ferry girl was humming to her self when she landed in the front of Genkia’s temple. She pulled out a piece of paper. “Alright I’m here. Now Yusuke’s supposed to be here….in about five minutes. Okay I’m early. Botan’s inside with Yukina and Keiko…even Genkia. Kurama and Kuwabara are with Yusuke on their way up. Now where’s Hiei?”
“Who the hell are you?” a male voice whispered and a steel blade was pressed against the side of her neck.
“Rikku …” She stuttered. ‘Here’s Hiei…’ “Do you always treat people with this kind of respect?” the blade was pressed tighter to her neck.
“Hn, I show no one respect,” Hiei snapped.
“Hiei!” a bunch of people ran up the stairs.
“Tell me you have good reason to be punishing this girl,” Kurama said.
“She was trespassing,” Hiei scoffed.
“I was not!” Rikku said.
“Shut up,” Hiei snapped and she shut her mouth tightly.
“Alright,” Yusuke rolled his eye’s. “Just who are you?”
Rikku looked at Hiei out of the corner of her eye and than down at the blade. She didn’t say a word.
“Shorty, it would probably help if you let her go,” Kuwabara said.
“Hn,” Hiei pulled his sword away and pushed her toward the others. “You figure out who she is and get her out of here.” He walked away from them, toward the forest.
“He’s so grouchy!” Rikku pouted.
“Who are you?” Yusuke asked.
“Name’s Rikku! Guide across the River Styx!” Rikku smiled happily. “Or known…”
“As the Grim Reaper,” Yusuke said.
“Yep,” Rikku nodded and smiled widely.
“What are you doing here than?” Kurama asked.
“I’m to fill in for Botan’s assistant job while she’s recovering from the last doozy that happened,” Rikku said.
“Are you going to be as cheery as Botan?” Kuwabara asked.
“Well….no….I get really hyper sometimes,” Rikku said.
“Just wonderful,” Yusuke rolled his eyes.
“How can these girls be grim reapers when there bouncing around?” Kuwabara asked.
“Live the after life to the fullest!” Rikku patted him on the shoulder.
“I thought it was live life to the fullest…?” Kuwabara scratched his head.
“Same thing,” Rikku shrugged.
“I take it toddler has another case for me?” Yusuke asked.
“Not right now,” Rikku said. “At least not that I know of. All he told me was to come and introduce myself.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Kurama smiled and Rikku bowed.
“The pleasure all mine,” Rikku said.
“Welcome to the group,” Yusuke mumbled and left to see Keiko.
“Thank you,” Rikku called after him.
“So is there any ferry girls who aren’t happy, hyper, or crazed in anyway?” Kuwabara asked.
“Ayame’s pretty gloom all the time. She’s really pale and wears a grey kimono,” Rikku said rolling her eye’s up in thought.
“Right,” Kuwabara said and started off to see Yukina.
“HEY! Wait for me!” Rikku ran to keep up with him.
INSIDE
“Hey Rikku,” Botan whispered. She was propped against a bunch of pillows to lean against the wall in a sitting position. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m supposed to fill in for you until you are one hundred percent better,” Rikku smiled in triumphant.
“You seem happy about that,” Botan smiled weakly.
“Yep! My first real job,” Rikku said.
“That’s good,” Botan said. “It’s about time Koenma assigned you to something.”
“Yeah it is, I’ve basically been…” Rikku started, but the door opened and Hiei glared at Rikku.
“I do recall telling you to get rid of her,” Hiei said.
“She’s filling in for Botan, get used to her,” Yusuke said.
“Yeah, get used to me…I mean it’s nice to work with you,” Rikku laughed nervously.
Botan closed her eye’s and her smile widened. “You learned well Rikku.”
“What?” Kuwabara asked.
“Botan trained me from the day I died until Hinageshi died,” Rikku put in.
“When did you die?” Kurama asked.
“Well…about ten years ago,” Rikku said.
“She’s been training you for ten years?” Kuwabara asked.
“Nope,” Rikku shook her head. “Botan trained me for seven years.”
“It takes a while to train ferry girls in,” Botan said.
“I’ve heard of the training you women go through,” Kurama said. “Its supposed to be painful.”
Botan laughed lightly. “Not when I teach. The pain depends on the teacher.”
“Oh! Koenma said you have to finish Hinageshi’s training soon,” Rikku said and Botan groaned.
“It’s only been three years I can’t finish it in less than a month,” Botan said.
“Alright, Botan, time for you to sleep,” Kurama said and helped Botan lay down.
“Thanks Kurama,” Botan said and drifted off to sleep.
“Hn,” Hiei looked out the window.
“Okay, I’ll be right back,” Rikku stood and walked out the door. The guys walked over to the wall farthest from the girls sleeping and sat down by Hiei.
“Botan was a lot stronger than we all thought,” Kuwabara said.
“She’s still weak,” Hiei said.
“In strength,” Yusuke said.
“Not spiritually,” Kurama said.
“She is the Grim Reaper,” Kuwabara said.
“That means nothing,” Kurama told him.
“Guys,” Rikku walked in and sat in front of the group.
“What is it?” Yusuke asked.
“We have a problem,” Rikku said.
“Already?” Kuwabara complained. “We just got back a week ago.”
“…” Rikku blinked at him.
“What’s wrong?” Kurama asked.
“Koenma has another mission,” Rikku said and everyone else sweat dropped.
“What’s the mission?” Hiei asked, getting annoyed.
“Well…he was braking up…” Rikku said putting her hand on her chin.
“I didn’t know the spirit world communication could brake up,” Yusuke said.
“They don’t,” Rikku said.
“Than what are you talking about?” Kurama asked.
“Koenma was braking up with Ayame when he called me,” Rikku said.
“Your confusing me,” Kuwabara said.
“Never mind,” Rikku said and opened a suit case box and replayed the message.
MESSAGE
“Rikku!” Koenma yelled.
“Yes, Koenma sir?” Rikku asked.
“Koenma you wanted to see me?” Ayame walked into the room.
“Yes,” Koenma looked from one girl to the other. “Ayame. I think it’s time we saw other people.”
“WHAT!” both girls mouth dropped open.
“You’re braking up with me!” Ayame asked, her face paling... even more than it already was.
“You two were dating!” Rikku asked.
“Rikku, we have a new mission,” Koenma said.
“Koenma don’t ignore me!” Ayame glared at him.
“Tell the guys that this is urgent,” Koenma said.
“What’s the case sir?” Rikku asked.
“Ayame don’t get angry,” Koenma said. “You and I will still be really good friends. Plus you work for me.”
“Bad move Koenma,” Rikku said.
“Rikku, there’s a demon…OW!” Koenma shouted as Ayame hit him in the head with her oar. “Stop it now!”
“I told you I love you!” Ayame said and Rikku’s eye’s widened.
“There’s an A class demon on the edge of the Japan that’s trying to take over Sendia and we need…” Koenma said and Ayame hit him again.
“Stop ignoring me!” Ayame cried. “You said we would be together forever!”
“Ayame, I just don’t think that I love you,” Koenma said.
“You bastard!” Ayame was sobbing. “You made love to me.”
“KOENMA!” Rikku glared…..
END MESSAGE
“I think that’s all we need to see,” Kurama said shutting the box.
“As I said before, he was braking up,” Rikku said.
“Right,” Kuwabara said.
“Anyways,” Yusuke shook his head. “So we go to the city Sendia and where do we start looking?”
“He said something about a preschool,” Rikku said.
“One question Rikku?” Kurama said. “You weren’t born in Japan were you?”
“Nope!” Rikku said. “I lived in Minnesota and than I died from…from…umm… Oh! I was murdered!”
“Why are you excited?” Kuwabara asked.
“I almost forgot how I died,” Rikku laughed. “A ferry girl becomes a ferry girl when she dies from, one, murder, two, rape, three, labor, four, drug addiction, five, disease. Basically anything that deals with lots of pain like bombing, car accident….worse than Yusuke’s though. Like lots of blood and stuff…”
“That’s not good,” Yusuke said.
“It explains the grim reaper,” Kurama said.
“What about Botan?” Kuwabara asked.
“Yeah, hers couldn’t be to bad. She’s way to cheery,” Yusuke said.
“Ha!” Rikku rolled her eyes. “She’s top ferry girl for a reason…besides she’s the best employee. Botan had it worse than anyone in the history of ferry girls. It’s not my story to tell …so…. I won’t.”
“Alright, shall we go to Sendia now?” Kurama asked.
“Hn,” Hiei stood. He was really curious for some reason on how Botan had died.
“Let’s go….Hiei you stay here and watch the temple,” Yusuke said and the others left.
“I don’t follow orders,” Hiei mumbled, but sat down none the less.
