A Soul's Reflection

She peers into the gilded mirror clutched in her hands. Its bottomless depths holding the souls of hapless victims. Just one look from a mortal and their souls were forever captured behind its smooth surface.

She wonders what they must see when gazing upon the glass. What does a soul look like? She will never know. For all the times she has looked into its depths, not once has she seen herself. No eyes shining back at her. Only darkness and swirling mists greet her.

She has no reason to fear its pull. Her soul is long gone, if she ever had one to begin with. No reflection, no soul. Just nothingness - a void.
