Opposites

You are the darkness inside my heart
You are the darkness of my closest friend
But there is nothing I can do
We were partners
But now, we are opposites
I am the light and you are the dark

But the light can be tainted
The darkness cannot be lightened
That is just the way it is
I can feel you drain me
Of everything I've ever been taught
Of everything I ever knew
I can feel you pull me down

The darkness in my heart
Seems to grow when you're around
Is that your plan?
Do you actually care?

But you're dark
I don't even know
What I am anymore
We are opposites
That's what I've always thought
Now, I'm not so sure anymore
