Now I want to try to keep this as logical as possible. This takes place sometime after Freeza destroyed the Planet Vegeta. The first part starts out as a conversation between two brothers, and the second part deals with Radditz finding out that he’ll never see his true love again.

Much to everyone’s belief, Turles (Tares or other various names) is not really in any relation to Radditz, Bardock, or Goku at all. In my fiction I write that he was adopted as an infant, so despite the non-relation him and Radditz still refer to each other as brothers. I don’t know Radditz nor Turles true ages when Goku was born and Vegeta was destroyed, so in this story Radditz is supposed to be about 18, while Turles is about 16.

Corniss, who is really called Zorn in the series, is supposedly King Vegeta’s second-in-command, high-ranked officer, vizier, or something along that line. He only gets about a minute or so of fame in the series. Japhia is a fan-created character of mine, who is his daughter, while Kinomi is his mate, also created by me. Kinomi is Japanese for fruit. Japhia is a name, which I admit, is based off of someone else’s Dragonball fanfiction. I liked the name so much that I used it in my own stories (The first being Radditz’s First Crush). I’ve long forgotten whom I got the name Japhia from, but I give big credit.

Sometime at some plant two brothers were talking their typical brother-to-brother conversation; one being about 18, the other being around16. Both were Saiyajins, sons of a low level soldier. The 16 year old was adopted as an infant, but that’s a whole different story.

“Hey,” the younger asked, “have you talked with ‘tousan lately?”

“No,” the elder replied, “not since mom died. He was taking it pretty hard. He told me that him and Toma are going with the others to some planet named Kanassa to do away with it. Told me not to contact him unless something else happened.”

Their mother died from childbirth about three to four days before. The birth was a tragic one, causing the mother to bleed to death soon after the infant was born. Her mate, the brothers’ father Bardock, of course took it hard, and because of her death he grew careless of the infant, not wanting anything to do with it. The infant was sent soon after to a planet some know as “Earth.”

“Eh, figures. What about the infant? Did it survive?”

“Yeah.” The elder brother leaned back against the outside of his spacepod, “It was a boy, as mom suspected. So he was named Kakarot. Tousan as far as I know doesn’t care for it, which I don’t blame him.”

“Kakarot? It’s one of those Arsenian names of hers wasn’t it?” The younger brother reached into his pack for something.

“I think so. I’m not sure what it means, though. Hey, did you know that Kinoko’s not really mom’s name? It’s really Magica. Apparently she got it changed when ‘tousan took her in a long time ago.”

“Huh, no I didn’t.” The younger brother pulled an item from his pack and lit it with the ki of his index finger.

“Turles, what the hell?”

“A smoking stick. Do you want one?” Turles took a puff from his smoking stick while offering a spare to his brother.

The elder brother scowled. “I don’t think so. Tousan will kick your ass if he catches you with that.”

“That’s why I smoke them when he’s not around.”

“Where the hell do you get those damn things? They fucking reek.”

“I get them from some Yorkran native. And don’t you dare tell, either, Radditz.”

“Fine. As long as you knock off the bragging about me and Japhia.”

“Japhia?” Turles grinned while taking a puff of his “smoking stick,” “You don’t think that secret’s going to stay secret forever do you? I mean, she’s Corniss’ daughter you know.”

“Yeah, I know. That’s why I want you to quit talking about it. I don’t want it getting back around any of the high committee. I don’t know what Vegeta’d do if he found out.”

“He’d probably tattle like he usually does.” Turles smirked. “So have you banged her yet?”

Radditz gave Turles a nasty look “None of your damn business.”

“So that means yes, then?”

“I told you, none of your damn business.” Radditz walked away to take a piss.

Turles chuckled. “Okay, whatever.”

The truth was, yes Radditz had mated her. They both knew that it was a taboo, a daughter of the royal command sleeping with a low level’s son, but they couldn’t let that get in the way of their secret love. The reason Radditz joined the Saiyajin military in the first place was in hopes that he could legally mate her, but so he hasn’t been able to so far. Thus the reason the forbidden relationship continued.

“Dodoria speaking. Anyone available?”

Turles pressed a button on the scouter resting on his left eye. “Turles here. What do you want?”

“Freeza has requested you and Radditz to return back to his ship. He has urgent news to tell you about.”

Turles sighed. “Can’t he wait?”

“No he can’t! It’s very important!” Dodoria snapped.

“Pssh, fine.” Turles turned off the communication on his scouter.

“Who was that?” Radditz returned from his piss.

“Oh it was that stupid fat bastard Dodoria. Apparently Freeza wants us back at the ship…” Turles crammed the butt of his smoking stick into the ground.

“You can’t stand Dodoria can you?” Radditz grinned as he prepared his own spacepod to leave.

“Now what kind of damn question is that to ask? You know I hate his guts.” Turles glared

“I know. I just wanted to annoy you.”

They weren’t related to eachother even by blood, but they were brothers non-the less. Turles was abandoned as an infant and was taken in by Radditz’s parents when Radditz was a toddler. Radditz knew Turles well, knowing when to annoy him at the right time. Turles tended to get annoyed easily, often complaining and getting into arguments. Every once in a while he would get into fights with others his age. The only person whom Turles truly minded was their mother.

The two brothers finished whatever they may have been doing, eating or whatever, then left the random planet and set due course to Freeza’s ship.
