The cup of warm milk now sat upon the table, its contents cold. The ribbon that held her hair, now lay in the floor.

It started out as a simple gesture of friendship, she sought him out for comfort when she heard the voices in her cabin. She never expected that they would be joined, as one, in his ready room. Had they done this before? Would they repeat this joining? Would they even remember?

The ribbon would be her reminder. Like one tied around a finger, she would remember, even if he didn't. She would will herself to remember.
