Chapter One
Mr. Spider Man

Dark eyes occasionally glanced at a phone nearby as his unsteady pacing caused much discomfort upon himself. The young man felt many things by now and anger was one of them. He looked back and saw that the phone was sitting still as it was a few seconds ago. He let out a grunt and examined the phone to see if the cord from the back of the black phone was connected properly.

There was a chance that maybe the call he’d been waiting for hours had already come but was not recorded because of the connection. He looked as his face turned into a big disappointment. The cord was fine and the signal was fine too. The figure suddenly slapped his forehead, figuring that maybe they had been trying to call while he checked to hear a signal.

“Get a hold of yourself and calm down.” He told himself. He brushed a few strands of his jet-black hair away from his eyes as he took a seat near the phone. Sasuke was desperate for this phone call. Over the years Sasuke had been hearing rumors of a film being planned. The film was expected to boost an actor’s career and so he had sent his agent to get him an interview with the director.

Sasuke had no idea what the film was about or who the director even was. People had high expectations for this oh-so-famous film. And Sasuke decided that he would go all out be the star.

He sat alone on the couch just looking at the phone and under his breath he prayed that his agent had gotten him a chance to meet with the director. His eyes nearly closed but huskily opened them as the phone rang. Sasuke quickly picked the phone up and answered it with his usual monotone, “Sasuke speaking.”

On the other line he could hear a familiar feminine gentle voice. “Sasuke, darling.” He abruptly rolled his eyes as he finally figured out who was calling. He sighed and replied with another monotone voice. “I’m really expecting a call here, Ino.”

Must guys would kill their own mother to get a chance to go out with Ino Yamanaka. She was a blonde girl with blue eyes who had an attitude with most women who even came near Sasuke. Rumors were suddenly spreading that the two were dating. Sasuke denied them all while Ino on the other hand was starting the rumors herself.

Which brought him to the point where he had tried to change his phone number but somehow the girl managed to get his new phone numbers. Many female actresses would kill to play a role with Sasuke in any film. A woman would even be lucky enough if Sasuke even accepted nudity or a kissing scene.

Ino payed Sasuke no mind as she continued. “If it’s about the film you’ve been dying to act in. Well my agent already took care of that.” Sasuke stood there dumbfounded as she giggled on the other line. “I see you underestimate me Uchiha Sasuke.”

Sasuke had to say that she had connections to this kind of things. He said nothing but with a slight tone of gratefulness he said, “Thanks.” Ino only laughed lightly at his tone.

“Can you believe who got the chance of these roles, Sasuke?” Sasuke knew that older actors had been challenging him for the main role of this movie since the boost of their images. If it was one thing he knew about this movie was that it was suppose to be a tragic love story. To him love never existed, and because of this he played people with tragic pasts and main characters who die or live a great life of pain. It was a perfect role for him, Sasuke figured. “I can’t believe that Sakura is going to try out!”

Haruno Sakura, another ‘huge’ fan of Sasuke. From what the young man understood both Ino and Sakura had been best friends before all this fame and fortune. They began to hate each other after meeting Sasuke, which made things far more complicated for him. He figured that at parties he’d have to stay a big distance from the two. If they met with one another then there would be hell to pay.

“I’ve heard a few names in Hollywood too but I doubt they would be any competition for you, Sasuke.” He only grinned. Competition was what made him work harder at acting, he always did win the roles he wanted. “One name strikes me though. A rookie at acting got to have an interview with this...oh-so-famous director. It’s surprising considering that the director rejected every rookie except him. His agent must have been a tough one.”

Sasuke wondered about this rookie and asked, “Did you by any chance hear this ‘rookie’s’ name?” Ino smiled from the other line, knowing that Sasuke was interested in his new competition. “I don’t know if I heard right but I believe his name was Uzumaki Naruto. But anyway the interview takes place in New York so pack your bags!” And with that she hung up.

‘New York City...’ Sasuke repeated. Where it had all started: his fame and his fortune making. The big city that payed him no attention when he was younger and suddenly it was as if everyone was his best friend. ‘Possibly one of the crowded places in America.’

“Wait! Hold the door!” Blue eyes didn't leave the man who ran to reach the subway doors. No one payed him any mind as the doors closed, nearly hitting his fingers. He puts on an angry face probably because he’s already late for work or something. People were just like that. Especially in New York.

Being mugged in day light did not keep you safe. If you yelled people would stare at you and then look away not bothering to take a second glance at you. Naruto had often witness dead animal carcass and realized people did not take second glances at it.

“Mom. My doll!”

A young girl with pigtails pointed to the floor, her eyes nearly filled with tears. An ignorant mother only sat and read the newspaper, failing to take notice of her daughter. Naruto leaned back against the warm subway chair with his hands jabbed into his pocket of his orange coat. His fingers touched bridge of his nose that was burned red.

The girl attempted to retrieve the rag doll into her arms. She lost her balance and quickly held on to the chair as the subway came into a violent stop. She fell awkwardly causing the blond to let out a laugh. An old man nearby eyed Naruto and he stopped. Naruto sighed and bent down to get the doll from under the seat. He quickly gave it to the crying girl.

The girl smiled and returned to her mother.

He wasn’t like most New Yorkers.

Who was he?

Not as hell spider man.

He was Naruto Uzumaki, who liked to help out kids. His first job was anything but easy having to deal with dying kids but he always managed a smile from even the roughest kids. However if anyone ever called him a nurse he would have a huge fit.

Naruto let out a tired sigh and nearly shut his heavy eyes. A hand suddenly touched his arm causing him to jerk back. He opened his eyes to a familiar light chuckle.

The boy known as Kiba sat next to him with his hands at his side and held his backpack. Naruto figured that maybe he was going to school already. “What are you doing here?” Naruto asked.

Kiba leaned back and placed his arms on his head while getting himself comfortable. “Going to school, Naruto. You wanna come?” His tone of voice being sarcastic. Naruto let the remark slide being that this year was the year Naruto suppose to graduate with Kiba.

“Hey asshole." Naruto called. Kibe was mad at him for dropping out collage all together. Close buddies were always sticking with each other through thick and thin, that is until he dropped out. "Stop messing with me! You know collage life wasn't for me! So how’s school going? How are the teachers there? How’s Miss Tai? That old English teacher still bald?”

Kiba stared and laughed. “She grew probably three strands of hair. But she still has bald spots. I have to say I was surprised to see you here sleeping. Did something happen at home?”

Naruto snorted. “What do you take me for? I was resting my eyes, Kiba. Iruka was giving me a hard time that’s all.”

Kiba smirked at his answer. “Bullshit, Naruto. Iruka is hard and all but I figured that you could take him on.”

He had a point.

"That's Iruka for you. Lately he's been acting like I shoved something up his ass or something though." Naruto admitted. "Iruka has been working to get me a part of this movie we've been hearing so much about. So I haven't asked him for ramen or anything."

"I see, can't get fueled by anything but ramen." he pointed.

Naruto nodded. “So I was resting for work today. I work at a children’s hospital so I’m just saving my strength for them.” Kiba shot him a confused look upon hear that the all mighty Naruto was working.

“I just can’t believe you got a job before me.” he managed to surpress a smile. Naruto wouldn’t exactly call it a job but more of a duty. “Well at least your putting your acting career on hold." The expression on Naruto's face suddenly answered Kiba's comment. “Naruto don’t tell me you’re still going for that acting career?”

“Of course I am. You know me; I never quit.” Naruto answered.

They both sat in silence for the rest of the trip.

Naruto suddenly couldn't help grunt at reminising the past. Kiba had nearly beated him into a pulp at the news that Naruto decided to drop out of collage. Iruka couldn't do anything to prevent him from dropping out since Naruto was already of age.

“This is my stop.” Naruto mumbled. Kiba looked at him and nodded.

Upon exiting the subway Naruto felt his cell phone vibrate.

“Yo, Naruto speaking.”

On the other line was an angry voice. “Where have you been? I’ve been trying to call you and I got no signal from you.” Naruto reconigized the voice to be Iruka. Frightened by his tone he quickly explained, “I was riding the subway. Going to work just like you said. I figured that maybe the meeting with you and that director wouldn‘t work out.”

“That’s smart of you, Naruto. Did someone help you make that decision?” Naruto only laugh at his dry sarcasm. “The meeting with Kakashi went well actually. He’s not one to accept rookies to feature in his films but I got through him.”

Naruto nearly dropped the phone while crossing the street. He yelled in the phone and jumped, waving his arms up and down.

“Iruka, you miracle worker, you! How did you manage to do that?”

There was a slight pause. “I can’t tell you that. But getting back to the topic, the interview is here in New York. And please don’t disappoint me! Big names in Hollywood are probably packing to meet with Kakashi as we speak. Practice will you? And get a good night’s sleep-” Naruto tuned out at the night’s sleep part.

“Oi, Naruto! Did you hear what I said?”

“Of course I did.”

Iruka figured he was bullshitting him.

“I know I promise I’ll get a good night’s sleep. Thanks Iruka. You rock! Oh! The address to the place!”

Iruka attempted to give directions only leaving a dumbfounded Naruto.

“Nevermind. Be dressed by eight. I’ll take you there.”

Naruto smiled and jumped when he entered the hospital. Kids who wander by stared. “Why are you so happy Naruto?” One of them asked.

“You all better be nice to me cause I’m going to be a famous actor one day!” Naruto stood, with one arm in the air and his left foot on a chair. His chest popped out as if he were superior to them all with his head held up high. The kids only laughed and ran to a nearby room.

“N-Naruto-” The blond twirled to meet the head nurse Hinata. “Y-You're stepping on a wheelchair.” Naruto chuckled nervously and removed his foot.

“I’m sorry! I’m just too excited! Iruka got me an interview with some famous director to give me the star role of an acting-boost-career-and-lady-loving film!” He yelled excitedly. Hinata only smiled shyly once more before leading him into the room full of kids.

“You mean that film that was rumored to be a famous love tragic story?” She asked. Naruto nodded. “I am proud of you, Naruto. I heard that there would be-”

“-big time celebrities? Yeah, I’ve heard that one too. I can’t blame them either! This will actually give me a career!” he finished. Hinata looked down with a forced smile on her visage.

“Will you be leaving us?” She asked. He nodded. Hinata began to walk away with a sad smile. “Good luck Naruto. Remember we’ll be here for you.”

“P-Please e-enjoy your f-flight Mr. Uchiha.”

Sasuke looked at his ticket before taking it. He mumbled curses under his breath towards the sales lady. Had anyone overheard her then it would mean the end of him. There was no way he would get to New York on time if he had to deal with fans.

Not that Sasuke was usually one to take public airlines. He usually took a private airplane but seeing that the pilot got sick he decided he would just have to deal with good old A class.

From what Orochimaru-his so-called ‘agent’-told him this film was suppose to all mushy, loving, etc. However what had caught Sasuke's interest was this so-called, ‘turn of events’ in the middle of the film. So that would make it a tragic love story. He wasn't concerned with whether or not he would get the part but rather he hoped the annoying Sakura Haruno or Ino Yamanaka didn't get any.

What shocked Sasuke was how this director, Kakashi Hatake, could accept this Naruto person.

Damn amateur.

“Three minutes until departure to New York City.”

“Excuse me,” Sasuke cringed at the sudden poke to his shoulder.

“You...wouldn’t happen to be Sasuke Uchiha?”

Sasuke was quick to shake his head. She let out a depressed sigh.

"Sorry then!"

“You really made those children laugh.” Hinata acknowledged.

Naruto sighed with an aching back from non-stop piggy backs. “I’m really tired and tomorrow’s my interview with Kakashi. Do you really think I can make it?” he asked. Hinata looked at him and nodded.

“Of course Naruto. I believe in you.”

It was comforting to Naruto's ears. “Iruka called me and informed me of some big names coming to New York.” he said. Hinata looked at him and with a worried tone she asked, “Are you fine with knowing? It doesn’t add pressure does it?”

Naruto chuckled lightly. “I’m fine. Even if I get a small role in the movie then that’d be fine with me. As long as it’ll give me more experience, y’know?” Hinata smiled. “But I heard actors like Sasuke Uchiha and actresses like Sakura Haruno got an interview. Wouldn't it be great to have a make out scene with Sakura Haruno?”

Hinata only looked away. “Don’t worry Hinata you’ll always be my number one girl.” This caused Hinata to blush slightly and turned away to hide it.

Naruto looked at the room.

“Looks like we’re done.”

“Yeah...Naruto go ahead and get some rest.”

Naruto looked at his watch and realized then that it was already past 8pm. He really did need all the rest he could get. There was no telling how much work he would have to do once he got that part.

“Iruka, I hope you got me a role.” He muttered into the cold winter air.

“Naruto! I told you to get dressed early!” Iruka yelled as Naruto struggled to place his shirt on. Iruka leaned against the door as he took his coat and tied his shoelaces at the same time, looking odd and nearly falling down in the process. “This is what you get for not getting an alarm clock.”

Naruto mumbled a few curses under his breath as he ran past Iruka. He motioned Iruka to hurry as the elevator nearly closed. He bent down and placed his hands on his broad chest to catch his breath from all the rushing. “Give me a wake up call next time.” Naruto joked.

“Will do.” Says Iruka. The two stay quite as they run and push past the crowds of people rushing to work. It was like that everyday in New York City and what both Iruka and Naruto didn’t get was why Kakashi had decided to hold the interview here.

After many rude pushing and tiring running both Naruto and Iruka made it to the huge building before them. Naruto looked at his watch and saw that they were both two hours late. The blonde looked around and with a tired voice he asked, “W-What? W-Where’s K-Kakashi?”

A few heads picked up and others didn’t bother to look up at Naruto. “I could have had an hour more of sleep.” Naruto mumbled as he took a seat. Iruka wasn’t allowed to be in the building so he had wished Naruto the best of luck before he walked inside the waiting room.

“This really sucks! I thought I was an hour late but it turns out that this Kakashi is the one who is late!” One girl yelled. Naruto looked up to see she had pink hair and her hands on her hips. “I didn’t even have time to brush my hair.”

‘So there really are big stars and actresses!’ He thought excitedly. He ran up to the younger woman, his eyes nearly sparkling, and the smile widened. She stared at him with a confused face as he stood there, observing her, as it would seem. “S-Sakura Haruno!” He called.

“Oh damn, more fans..” She mumbled. “Yeah, that’s me. What can I do for you?” Naruto dug deep into his back pocket to reveal a short notepad and pulled out a black pen from his front pocket to show them out close to Sakura’s face.

“Can I have your autograph?” Naruto asked, his eyes still sparkling. Sakura only smiled and held a laugh from the back of her throat. She took her hand and brushed her hair away from her face. “Of course you can!” She took the notepad and pen from Naruto and began to scribble her signature. She returned it to him as he hugged it.

“Hey I thought only people with real talent were allowed here.” An older girl stated. Naruto looked at Sakura and saw that she literally had flames in her eyes. With an attitude Sakura responded, “If they were then you, Ino, would be the last person to be here.”

Ino only gave her a smirk. “It’s nice to see you sticking up for yourself but I was talking about this boy here. You, your kind isn’t allowed here.” Naruto looked at her with a confused face while Sakura stood in front of him with her head up high.

“What do you mean ‘their’ kind? What kind?” She demanded. Ino stood close to Sakura with her chest up high and her hands on his hips. “By ‘their’ kind I meant ‘fans’.” The two looked like they were ready to fight each other and quickly Naruto stood in between the two catching their attention.

“I’m not really just a fan...I just happen to like Sakura’s work.” Naruto answered truthfully. “I got in here cause I got a chance to have an interview with Kakashi.” The two stared at him with shock as Naruto smiled widely. There was an awkward pause and suddenly Naruto shook Sakura’s hand. “Good luck to the both of you.”

From the other side of the room Sasuke can hear all the commotion and talking coming from Sakura and Ino. “Keep it down, you guys are loud.” The two girls turned to see their crush looking at them with his usual emotionless face.

“Sasuke!” The two called. Sasuke only looked down with a devilish smirk. Naruto crossed his arms and began to wonder what they saw in him. ‘He’s only a cold bastard.’ Naruto thought and looked away while Sasuke walked toward the three.

His hands were in his pocket and had a cool expression on his face. “The two of you heard of a Uzumaki Naruto?” He asked. This question caused Naruto’s head to perk up at his name. “I heard he’s an amateur actor. Isn‘t that right Ino?”

Ino stuck her tongue out at Sakura before Sasuke could see and responded with a flirty tone. “Right Sasuke. I‘m not sure he‘s here yet then. He has to be a great actor is he made it this far but I think you‘ll do much better...” Naruto smiled while he raised his hand and waved it in front of Sasuke’s face.

“I’m Uzumaki Naruto!” He said in his happy tone. Sakura and Ino looked at him and nearly laughed while Sasuke observed his with his cold eyes. “What’s so funny?”

‘I suppose I was expecting a more tall person with body...and looks.’ Sasuke thought. “You...can’t be Naruto. Are you sure you are in the right place?” Naruto placed his hands on his hips and extended his neck, both Naruto’s and Sasuke’s faces were close to each other. “You sure act like a rookie...what does Kakashi expect from you? Why the hell would he even accept you?”

“Last time I check my name was Naruto. I know I’m in the right place! And Kakashi let me in because he recognizes talent!” Naruto answered. Their eyes burned with hatred as they only glared at each other with cold eyes.

Suddenly the door opened and a man with silver hair entered the room his scarf covering his mouth. “Sorry I’m late. I got lost and with the cold weather and all oh and traffic was hell!” Naruto crossed his arms and said, “You could have made a better excuse! Cold weather and traffic isn’t enough to make you three hours late!”

Everyone motioned for him to be quite while Kakashi scratched the back of his head. “You’re right. It was either that or, ‘I got lost on the road to life’.” Naruto smiled. “I’m here and I’m ready! I hope you all didn’t eat breakfast or you’ll be nervous and throw up! Anyway I’ve spoken with each and every one of your talent agents. Very interesting indeed! All right, interviews will be private and judging by the way you are and speak I will make my castings. Any questions before we start?”

Naruto looked around and raised his hand. “You mean we don’t have to audition for the parts?” Everyone agreed with Naruto this time while Kakashi sighed.

“The way you are in front of me is good enough. If you can act cool and collected in the interview then that’s good acting enough for me but if you stumble with your speech too much then I’ll have to reject you. Extras for the movie have been casted all we need are the main characters.” Everyone stayed quite as Kakashi smiled. “Let’s start with...Naruto Uzumaki.”

Naruto smiled nervously and entered a room with Kakashi. As he entered the room he looked back to Sasuke and flicked him his middle finger. Sasuke only smirked and ignored the blonde before the door slammed shut. Naruto sat in front of Kakashi as he held out a clipboard waiting for the interview to start.

Outside Sasuke leaned against the wall while Ino and Sakura pressed their ear against the door to listen to the interview. “Is it just me or do I hear laughing?” Ino asked. This suddenly caused Sasuke to look up at the two. Sakura listened carefully and jolted as she heard more laughter.

Sakura chuckled lightly and stated the obvious: “Must be going well then.” Sasuke decided to ignore them and payed his attention to the paper that each of them had been handed out. The film was said to be even more tragic than Romeo and Juliet. This film could have possibly been based on a novel, Sasuke figured and continued to read.

A man named Ian comes home one night only to find his fiancé murdered in their bedroom. Holding her as she bleed Ian tried to save her but in the end it was too late for her and she died. Ian cannot help but grieve and later comes to a decision to never love another woman. Sasuke stopped at that sentence and sighed. ‘Another love story...in the end this Ian character will get a new woman and forget the other.’ He then urged himself to read on.

But fate has other plans for Ian. When he decides to move to a new town he meets a young woman, Namie-who decides to change his dark ways. Ian also meets a man named Rei whom he finds himself, unexpectedly, falling in love with. Now he must come to a decision whether or not to stay with Rei or Namie. His decision will forever change his life and only turn of events can happen in this decision.

Sasuke stood there dumbfounded as he read over the, ‘Ian also meets a man named Rei whom he finds himself, unexpectedly, falling in love with.’ He rubs his eyes and walks over to Sakura and Ino with a confused face.

“Did...you two happen to read what this film is about?” He asked. He then handed Ino and Sakura a copy as they read it together. Ino was the first to finish and nearly dropped the paper while Sakura hid the blush forming in his face.

Ino practically yelled. “T-This...is a...male...and male...movie.” Sasuke stood there with his eyes, widened, and the thought of having another man touching him nearly killed him. ‘Oh god, what if Naruto-’ He coughed and walked away rather fast from Ino and Sakura before they can say a word.

Sasuke ran to the bathroom and took out his cell phone as he dialed the number for Orochimaru. Later Orochimaru picked up with a calm voice only making Sasuke’s temper raising higher. “Orochimaru! You are fired! I know that you knew what this film was about! You didn’t tell me this film has...male...and male content!”

Orochimaru coughed on the other line and quickly asked. “W-Wait a minute Sasuke! Do you know why this film has great expectations from critics and fans?” Sasuke stood there for a minute and told him no. “as you might now this film is based on a book Kakashi wrote himself. It was expected to sell about half a million copies but on the first day the demand for the book increased. And two weeks later the book sold more than twenty-four million copies.”

“Twenty-four million copies? For this cheesy book?” Sasuke asked. Orochimaru nodded on the other line and added, “Twenty-four million copies were sold alone in North America.” Sasuke placed a hand in his pocket while he thought about this. “Take my advice and stick with this film.”

“Orochimaru...if you are wrong about this film then you are really fired.” Sasuke threatened and hung up following an annoyed sigh. If the book was good and the film turned out to be great then Sasuke could have a big career but if he refused to work in this film then it would be putting his career on the line. He left the restroom and walked back to the waiting room with his hands in his pocket. ‘I’ll do it but I swear I’ll kill Kakashi himself if there’s sexual content.’ He thought.

“Sasuke! There you are...Sakura is in there right now. After her you’re up next.” Ino informed as Sasuke closed the door behind him. He looked at Naruto who was calming his nerves as he pressed a hand on his chest.

Naruto caught him staring and asked brusquely. “What the hell are you looking at, Sasuke?” Sasuke looked down with a smirk to play it cool and to keep his temper from raising further than it already was. He answered Naruto with a rude voice. “Nothing special, Uzumaki.”

He ignored Sasuke and suddenly Sasuke asked him nicely. “Do you know what character you play?” Naruto got confused from the sudden change in his tone and looked at the palm of his hand to read the name he had written. “I play some guy named Rei. Do you know who the hell he is?” Naruto asked.

“Rei is possibly the second or third main character.” Sasuke replied. He handed Naruto the copy of the play and entered the room as Kakashi called out his name. Naruto stared at him as Sasuke closed the door behind him and read the summary.

His eyes widened as he stopped and dropped the paper. Without thought the blonde yelled,

“I play Ian’s love interest!”
