Denial in its Truest Form
summary: Kim wonders if she's fooling the world.
ships: unrequited Bobby/Kim, implied Kim/Jimmy
spoilers: Requiem for a Bantamweight, Unfinished Business, More Monsters, Goodbye to Camelot.
notes: Set somewhere between More Monsters and Goodbye to Camelot. Slightly longer than the other in the series. I'm sorry it's been such a long time since any of these have been written/posted.

Sometimes, she feels guilty.
So, sometimes, when she's feeling guilty she'll plaster a smile on her face and try to look as guiltless as possible.
Sometimes, when she's feeling guilty it works. Sometimes people actually fall for her fake smile and her fake laugh.
But then again, sometimes it doesn't.
Jimmy hasn't quite caught on yet she thinks. Probably chalks it up to being hormonal or something.
Something.
It's funny how a person's life can be reduced down to one word, and that one word is just something.
Shouldn't he be more deserving of something better then just plain old something? What about tragic, or hero, or fool or how about all of the above. He had a tragic hero's death because he was a fool.
Sometimes, she thinks that the most foolish thing he did was love her.
So, sometimes she pretends that he was in love with Alex or Gina or somebody. Gina. That still leaves a sour taste in her mouth.
Sometimes, that works. But more often then not it doesn't and she wonders how somebody as smart as him could be foolish in love to fall in love with her.
That wasn't the only foolish thing he did, really.
Matty. He had to play the hero there and the foolish thing about that was it showed him his weakness and he did nothing about it. His weakness was his heart. His compassion, his trust, his faith and love in everybody.
Everybody. Like his druggie ex-best friend Paulie.
Paulie isn't as bad as Gina in her mind, because even though Paulie took him away he was messed up. She hides behind that because if it was actually Paulie's fault, it would be hers too.
The guilt from that..

note: This is a one shot. That means there is no more. It also means because that it is in this series, it is a drabble, or something close to it. This one is over three hundred words, so I guess it counts as a ficlet, but please, no reviews saying,
"It was good, just make it longer."
This is the intended length. Thanks.
