Uncertainty

As I stared at the calm water of the lake I felt something rising within me.

"…Hatred?" A voice offered in my head as a whisper.

'No, not hatred.' I thought as I started to get confused.

"… Then what?" It whispered again.

"Uncertainty." I said out loud as a sad whisper.

I looked at my lover sitting beside me.

"Naruto, are you ok? You look sad." he asked, letting his mask slip, his voice was laced with concern.

"It's nothing!" I lied.

He didn't believe me. I could tell.

"What is it?" he asked. He waited, "Tell me." He added when he didn't get his reply.

He waited again. I stayed silent.

I stared into his eyes, they looked angelic in the soft moon light.

"I'm confused." I admitted after a short while.

"About what?" He said leaning closer to get a better look at my face.

"Every thing, I guess." I waited to see if he would speak again. I continued when he didn't. "I never thought that anyone would love me, never thought I could love in return."

My eyes got sadder.

He scooted closer and wrapped his arms around me.

"I never thought I could love either, but… when I saw you that changed." He nestled his face into my hair, "I couldn't stop my self from thinking about you, I was… entranced. You had the same hardships in your life, even more, and yet, you still managed to smile." His grip tightened. "I love you." He whispered as he kissed me.

I looked into his dark eyes. I could feel tears start to well in mine. I griped his hand and slowly brought it to my lips and kissed it.

"I love you, too." I whispered as the tears started to spill.

He drew me closer as the tears came freely. We sat there for some time.

When I pulled back my eyes were red and puffy. I looked at his shirt.

"Sorry, Sasuke," I murmured as I looked down, "I got you shirt all wet."

He looked down at his now tear drenched shirt.

"It'll dry" He said in his calm, cool voice.

I felt a hand tilt my head up.

I stared into his eyes.

He bent his head down and clamed my lips. I leaned into the kiss, deepening it. I felt his tongue swipe against my lip, asking for entrance. I gladly gave it.

We pulled away, panting slightly.

"Let's go home." He said as he stood up, holding my hand.

As I stood, I could only smile.
