Friday 7:12 a.m.

House was sitting in his office, it wasn't really early for him. He couldn't sleep and there was nothing left for him to do but sit there and think about what had just happened. This was how he dealt with emotion, alone and by himself...fearing that he might be hurt again if he let someone into his heart. So now he sits with his I-Pod on full blast just thinking. Especially thinking about what Wilson said earlier. "She could outlive you..." He couldn't get those words out of his head, and the more he thought about them...the more he realized that they were true. He was in denial with himself. That's why he turned Cameron down, said she didn't matter. Now House realized what it meant, he took life for granted and he tried to think less of it.

All of the sudden he saw a shadow over his desk and looked up. Just the person he was trying to avoid, Cameron. Every time he thought about her it brought a new set of emotions that he was entirely not ready for. He took out his right ear piece and stared at her with those crystal blue eyes. "What?" He asked tonelessly.

"We've got a case. A man has a mild case of amnesia, but he wasn't hit on the head, there is no history of any medical diseases, and there is no clots that we are aware of." She stated staring back into his eyes. Cameron still had feelings for House, and she tried to cover it up as best as she could. But every time she looked into his eyes, she'd feel it again. He'd just never understand that she didn't want him because he was broken, she loved him for who he was...sarcastic, brilliant, and he always stuck to his decisions. Though, he'd never let her explain anything. That's what upset her the most.

"Any past injuries that would suggest?" House asked.

"None that we know of, and if there was any...he doesn't even remember." She sighed. "He was with his wife, she said that he just got up this morning and he looked at her and screamed...she said that he didn't recognize her or his two children."

"Gather the group, meet back up here in an hour." He stated and turned away from her putting his I-Pod back on full blast. Greg didn't need to turn around to know she had left. He put the device in his pocket and walked outside into the brisk morning sunshine. He sighed, sniffling a little...he still had his allergies to deal with. He took a tissue out of his pocket and blew his nose. Slowly he made his way over to see the way the sun looked over the horizon. He'd come out here to get away. To think sometimes.

He then felt a soft touch on his shoulder, looking to the side...Cameron was there again. He took the ear pieces out and looked at her, automatically hiding the feeling in his soft blue eyes. "What's the matter?"

"Cuddy wants to see you in five...patient in exam room eight." She smiled turning to the view. "Beautiful huh?"

He shrugged. "Probably going to get after me about clinic duty again."

"Probably..." After that she walked away and he was left standing there again. He sighed and walked out of his office to go to the clinic.

House was down in the clinic seeing the patient he was told to see. "You have a mild viral infection. Plenty of rest, Try Pepto-Bismol...and if that doesn't work I'll see if I can't prescribe you something."

"Well differential diagnosis, ready? And go."

"Well did we check to see if he has a history of mental illness in the family?" Foreman asked.

"All records are clean." Chase continued.

They all stared at the files and then House issued a number of tests and they all broke as he went to the coffee pot for a cup.

"How you feeling?"

He turned around to see Cameron...why was she following him?

"Better I guess...did you want something, or do you enjoy the view?"

"I was just wondering how you were..." She sighed and started to walk off when he grabbed her by the arm. "What?"

"Would..." He sighed. "Never...never mind." Greg let go of her arm and started to limp in the direction of his office...but it was her hand that stopped him.

"No, what were you going to say?" She pressed.

"Would you like to go to lunch with me?"

"Sure. Only if we're not eating at the hospital. I could use a little time off." She smiled lightly, not wanting to break the mood and make him walk away from his offer. "My clinic shift will be over at 12:30, okay?"

House just nodded and limped towards his office again. His leg was sore, so he plopped down in his chair with a groan and popped a couple Vicodin. Why can't I just say something? He thought to himself. Because she's young and she deserves so much better than you. He toyed with the ideas in his head...but he couldn't figure out for the life of him, what she saw in him. It was one thing he hated, that made him afraid to open up...the puzzle that was Allison Cameron.

They were back at the table in the midst of a deep discussion.

"There are some indentations in his skull that may prove he had a prior head injury...that may be the cause of his amnesia now." Chase commented looking hard at the x-ray.

"It may be that, but we'd need a few other tests to confirm brain damage to that area before we could conclude anything." House answered. He issued more tests as they all broke again.

12:30 p.m.

House was standing outside of the clinic watching Cameron file the last of her paper work for the afternoon and look his way. Her eyes locked with his and it sent him for a loop. She then came out and greeted him.

"Hey House, so lunch?"

"Right." He answered quickly, not reaching her gaze...fearing he might do something else if he did.
