AN: REPOST! Something happened and my fic got deleted. So anyway, it's up again but this time the lemon is OUT. I think that was the main reason... Blah, there are FAR worse fics on this site with much more detailed lemon scenes? -Gets angry- But anyway, here it is again in all it's glory. I took the liberty of tweaking some parts of it. Adding a bit and changing some in an attempt to give Paine a bit more power in her own story. Ok, read on!

A story based on Final Fantasy X-2. This is a YURI pairing between two women who are veiwed as opposites.
Read on and review again since this is a repost.

Chapter 1
Opposites Attract

By: Chou-san

“Are we there YET, Yunie?"

Rikku asked, tired and washed over from fatigue. Yuna, now 19, didn’t take any bull-shit this time. She was no longer the quiet push-over. She was a Gunner and proud to force feed generous helpings of Shut the Hell Up to anyone who dare cross her lines. Yuna’s cousin, Rikku, now 17, was of course still the vivacious thief and the one to bring exuberance to the gang. Third of the Gullwings was Paine, an 18 year old isolated warrior who’s past was shrouded in mystery. Of course, with her mean demeanor, not to mention her long black sword with a skull engraved at it‘s base, struck impulsive fear into those who daunted her. Though silent a portion of the Gullwings‘ many escapades, her words were short, sweet and to the point.

“Yunie, why are we going this way? We could’ve just followed that goon back there, ya know,” Rikku continued, following behind Yuna up the mountainside. Rikku, sighed as she looked back, watching Paine lag behind. Paine looked up, locking her eyes with the Al Bhed‘s. Rikku suddenly felt implicated and grief-stricken as she stared into Paine’s drab crimson eyes. She clutched her chest and turned away, choking up slightly from the numbness. Yuna stopped, turning towards Rikku upon hearing the throaty noise, placing a hand on her shoulder.

“Rikku? What’s wrong..?” Yuna’s soft tone penetrated Rikku’s deep thoughts about the mysterious girl. Brushing Yuna’s hand from her, Rikku looked up as if she‘d seen a ghost, “I‘m... I‘m fine, Yunnie. Let‘s just go find the uniform,” Rikku, rushed hurriedly past Yuna, going up the mountain. Yuna looked at Paine who only glanced at Yuna, walking past and following Rikku. Paine and Rikku stopped short as they reached a cliff overlooking the ground below. Rikku sighed, staring over the edge, leaning slightly. A hand gripped her shoulder as Rikku jumped nearly out of her skin. “WAH?”

“Calm down, Rikku. Don’t lean too far over. I don’t want to have to race back to the bottom to catch you,” Paine warned the young Al Bhed. Rikku turned and smiled at Paine, “You know, I might just jump to see if you‘d actually race down there,” Rikku gave a smirk, as the older girl only raised a slender brow. “Oh really? Well, jump then,” Paine ordered, crossing her arms, watching Rikku open her mouth in disbelief.

“You mean you seriously want me to--”

“Jump. Go on.”

“Paine, I’m not really gonna jump. I just thought it was strange how you of all people would say that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean,” Paine asked as she watched the younger girl, crimson eyes skimming over her young form.

“It meeeeans that deep down, you’re really caring. Annnnd that that was the MOST you’ve spoken since I can remember!” Rikku giggled, as Paine sighed, shaking her head. Rikku then turned to find Yuna slowly meeting up with them.

“Well, what now, General Yunie?”

Paine turned around, eyeing Yuna curiously, “Well, you sure took your sweet time getting here..”

Yuna stood in between Paine and Rikku, “I was enjoying the scenery, Paine. At any rate, we need one Fem-Goon outfit somewhere around here...”

Rikku raised her eyebrows, “And the third?”

Yuna glanced at her cousin, “I... know where it is. Let me think for a moment...”

Paine looked around as did Rikku while Yuna ran her delicate fingers through her russet hair as she pondered. “Uh, Yuna. If you haven’t noticed... It doesn‘t really look like there are any uniforms up here,” Paine said ironically. Breaking her chain of thought, Yuna gave Paine a fierce look as Rikku snickered. Paine shrugged, crossing her arms, “Just stating facts,” Yuna shoved Paine slightly, “I’m not THAT slow, Paine. I can see that there’s nothing up here...”

Unaware to the trio, the platform they were standing on was close to giving way to their combined weight, crumbling a little. As the cracks grew more audible, Paine turned slowly, as if unbelieving the sound she was hearing, to look behind them. Seeing the earth begin to collapse to some extent, Paine blinked, turning back around leisurely, “People, we have a... tiny problem...”

Mount Gagazet Holy Spring

Two Fem-Goons, near the Mount Gagazet Holy Spring , were chatting away. One spoke, “Ahhhh... What a great hot tub... I can’t believe they have a hot spring here.” The other looked slightly troubled, “But... isn’t this... Ronso’s Holy Place...? Isn’t it a bit... rude?” The first girl raised an eyebrow, laughing, “What? You’re scared? We just don’t let our boss find out!” Ormi’s voice was heard as he appeared from inside the mountain, startling the two goons, “Hey! You two been slacking off!” They both stood up, as the first girl spoke, “We’re not slacking off! We’re just... resting up a bit...”

The two goons and Ormi then looked up just as a huge rock came falling into the spring, scaring them awa a f a frantic mess. As time passed, the Gullwings resurfaced, standing in the spring. Yuna blinked, gasping slightly, shaking excess water from her hair, “This is... a spring?” Paine was busy looking after the two women running off. “Were those two Le Blanc‘s goons?” Paine breathed, wiping off her leather. Rikku was engaged in examining the surroundings. She spotted what looked to be a Fem-Goon outfit, “Hey! Lost property! How easy was THAT!” Paine was looking at Rikku for a moment before turning back to Yuna.

Yuna shrugged, sighing, “Well, since we‘re here... how about going for a dip?”

“At the Ronso’s Holy Spring?” Rikku asked, cynically.

“No one‘s looking,” Paine said with poise.

The trio then changed into their swim suits and hopped in. Yuna sat, soaking in the warm water as Rikku, sloshed around. Just then, Rikku swished over to Yuna and looked at her chest. Yuna was unaware of what Rikku was looking at.

“Huh..? ... What?”

Rikku looked down at her own chest, then back at Yuna’s, disappointed, “Oh well. At least we know who‘s got it going on!” Yuna blinked, “Excuse me!” Before Yuna could lay a hand on the Al Bhed, she went over to Paine to sneak a peek. Paine’s back was turned, seeing what Rikku did to Yuna and huffed, annoyed, “Stay away!” Rikku stopped short of Paine and grinned, “Ooh... hehe! You should come check out Paine,” Paine stood up and tackled the Al Bhed into the water, all the while shouting, “Hurt time?” Yuna sat, deciding whether or not to help.

Yuna exhaled noisily, not wanting anything to do with it, turned her back and began to peacefully enjoy the hot spring while time allowed. Paine just continued to beat on Rikku. The younger girl was gasping for air and struggling, “Gah! Paine! Gimme a break will ya?” Paine stopped, holding Rikku, “Lemme think. No.” Paine dunked Rikku’s head in the water once more as she sat back, letting go.

Rikku stood up, growling down at Paine, “Hey! That wasn’t very nice!” The warrior watched Rikku in amusement, “Aw. Am I supposed to care?” Rikku, dived at Paine, tackling her down into the hotspring, pinning the girls‘ arms to her sides.

“HAH! Gotcha!”

“Guess you did. Now... get off.” Paine said irritably, trying to get up.

“Mmm... no,” Rikku sneered at the helpless warrior.

“Damn it, Rikku! Yuna! Do something!”

Yuna was busy relaxing as she looked up at the two of them, “She’s YOUR problem. YOU deal with her.” Yuna gave Paine a ‘sweet’ smile as she continued to lounge. Paine, in shock, looked back up at a grinning Rikku. The Al Bhed then leaned down, her lips touching Paine’s ear as she whispered hotly into it.

“Ohh, you know you like it like this, Paine. The hot water around us, my body on top of yours, half naked. Oh yeah. Tell me this doesn’t turn you--”

“YUNA! If you don’t do something RIGHT now!”

Paine was hollering now as Yuna sat up suddenly, “We’ve got to go to Djose Temple for one more uniform!” Yuna said, shushing both Paine and Rikku. The two of them just watched as Yuna picked up her clothes and ran. Paine and Rikku looked at each other and shrugged. The Al Bhed got up off Paine as the warrior stood to stretch. The two of them got out of the spring as Yuna was already heading towards the Celsius. Rikku bent over to pick up the Fem-Goon uniform from the edge of the spring. Something touched her rear end and sent her face forward back into the spring with a splash.

“PAINE!”

Rikku looked up in time to catch sight of Paine leaving. It was at that moment that Rikku gasped quietly as she sat alone in the hot spring, swearing to herself that she just saw Paine... smile.
