Claimer: HOWEVER, I do have OC’s in this story, and they be mine, and I and only I (or anyone I give permission) can control them or pet them. -Pet’s Aname- So meh!
Aname starred up at the ceiling, seeing nothing but a light rose blur that was the royal bathroom’s color.
“D-Dagger,” he began, pausing to regain his words, “… Where have I heard that name before?”
Garnet, now sitting on her bed looking into the crystal, finally let the held back tears fall to the floor.
Is this really Vivi? She asked herself, starring at the figure who just simply gazed ahead into a blind nothingness. Or is he some kind of… Replacement?
Garnet gawked at the image for a while, before answering with, “does the name ‘Vivi’ sound familiar at all to you?”
“Yes,” Aname didn’t hesitate to answer, thinking the answer might escape his if he did, “I’ve heard It in my dreams many times… Dagger, what do you look like?”
This question made Garnet blush. How was she going to answer that!? She cleared her throat and gave him an honest answer. “I have long dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. Is that enough?”
“Yes,” he smiled a little as he put the pieces together, “I’ve seen you in my dream before. I was being swept away by a great cloud, and you reached out to me and screamed my name. You didn’t scream Vivi though, you screamed my true name.”
“And what is that?” Garnet, becoming a bit curious as to who this boy was, asked nervously.
“It’s Ana-“
…
Nothingness.
The crystal had molted into it’s regular diamond glow instead out a clouded grey it was before. Garnet could feel the tears fall down her cheeks in an instant.
“Dagger?”
The queen looked up to find her tailed lover looking at her with grave concern. He hadn’t seen that look ever since…
She announced Vivi’s death to him.
“Love? What’s wrong? Your eidolons didn’t break, did they?” Zidane asked in a childish tone, hoping the obvious making–fun-of would cheer her up.
And it did. Instantly getting the joke, Garnet grinned good heartedly at her husband. “No, you jackass, Eidolons don’t break.”
Zidane titled his head sweetly. “Then what’s wrong?”
Garnet looked down at the crystal and sighed, the smile fading. “Zidane? Do know any name’s that start with ‘uh-nah’?”
Zidane wrinkled his nose and gave her a doubtful look. “Sounds like something Indian.”
“I’m serious!”
“Nope, can’t say I have. You can try looking it up in that baby names book in the library. It has some strange things in there…”
Garnet sighed and looked at her playful husband. “And how would you know this?”
“I like looking at names so I can get a good idea of what we’ll name our kid.” Zidane reached over and tenderly patted Garnet’s plump belly, provoking a giggle from her.
Aname gazed this way and that. He must’ve lost contact with his secret friend.
She’s special to me in some way… I know it… But something tells me I’ll see her in person sometime soon…
“ANAME!!!” Aname flinched as Autumn started pounding on the door, her abnormally soft voice becoming terribly shrill, “Hurry up!”
Aname gritted his teeth and glared at the door where the female mage’s voice came from. “Fine!” He set Bella on the floor outside the tub to let her dry and he took the soap and started to wash his sore skin.
“… You’re mean, Autumn.”
Autumn turned to Ipsen with a grunt, sitting on the bed with crossed legs. “So? He’s like a damned girl taking so long in the bath!”
Ipsen shook his head wearily, laying his head back on the pillow. “Don’t you feel bad for him though?”
Autumn sighed and let her legs fall over the sides of the bed, staring at the floor as her hair brushed her face. “Yeah… He’s really a delicate little thing… And I’m curious as to why he has that curse, what his connections are with Vivi, and-“
“Vivi?” Ipsen interrupted, tilting his head, “who’s that, it sounds… Familiar…”
And, before they could finish talking about the matter, Aname came into the room in a white bath robe, drying his hair with a fluffy towel that was equally white.
“Hey, what are you talking about?” He inquired, stopping to giggle as Bella licked his ankles.
“Nothing,” Autumn stated, hurrying to the bathroom, “nothing at all…”
Aname looked concerned at her as she brushed past him, looking like she had swallowed a lemon.
“What’s her problem?” Aname asked when she was gone.
“She’s tired is all…” Ipsen yawned in a bit of a forged way and lay back to rest his heavy head on the pillow. “Night.”
It didn’t take long for Aname to realize they were hiding something… From him. He marched over very ungracefully and glared down at Ipsen, who, sensing someone above him, opened an eye to gaze at the glaring teen.
“Okay, what the fucking hell did you say to her?” Aname asked with venom on his tongue, using foul language despite the fact he hated to curse, because when Aname was pissed, he was pissed…
“I… didn’t say anything she shouldn’t know,” Ipsen retorted, sitting up to glare back.
Aname flinched, for he hated to be glared at, but kept his own glare steady. “You told her about my curse, didn’t you?”
Ipsen was going to say something back, but when he opened his mouth, nothing came out, so he closed it again.
“Well, did you!”
“Well… Yes,” Ipsen stated clearly, causing Aname’s eyes to glow gold, then, with growing anger, become orange.
“Dammit!” Aname pulled at his wet hair within balled fists, a few weak strands coming loose and sticking to his fingers when he released. “I told you to tell no one!”
“I know, but she would have eventually found out anyway!” Ipsen spat back, a bit of red lacing his eyes.
“We could have kept it a secret! Besides, how long to you plan to keep that bitch here?”
Ipsen had just about had it. No one, and he meant no one, called his sister a bitch. “Well Mr. Snippy, she could get up in the middle of the night and see you as a fucking little monster!”
Aname completely froze at that, his hair that was standing on end from anger relaxed, though he still remained rigid and tense. The orange eyes switched to gold then melted away to reveal Aname’s human eyes. He sniffed as some mucus started to leak from his nose and his eyes blurred and stung with a warm yet uncomfortable sensation.
Upon realizing this, Ipsen tried to grab the shaking teens arm, but Aname flew back with a shriek. Grasping at his shoulders to try and stop his shivering, Aname gave Ipsen a final teary eyed look before turning and running out the bedroom door.
“ANAME!” Ipsen cried, standing and reaching for his friend, but the door was slammed loudly before he could make a move.
Autumn had her head tilted back while listening to the shouting brawl between the two friends, thinking the same thing over and over again during…
“I’m such a terrible person…”
She sighed when she heard the door slam, and considering who’s name had been shouted, she knew who had stormed out.
Though she couldn’t blame him. Nobody should ever, never ever, even if it was true, call someone a monster. Ever.
Besides, who determines who’s a monster or not?
Autumn could feel a sting for the teenager at the fact that he wasn’t afraid to let his feelings out. Or at least, can’t help it.
Even if he’s grown up on the outside, he’s still a little boy on the inside…
