I saw you standing there,

Peaceful, yet menacing all the same.

You growled at me, eyes glowing bright,

Scaring me more then when I came.

You didn’t speak,

Instead growled and hissed.

And I figured if you killed me,

By you, I wouldn’t be missed.

And yet, I could not leave…

Something compelled me to stay.

Even when your growling grew louder,

I could not run away.

I never thought that I could love you,

Yet now I’m lying here.

Never could I imagine now

Me sleeping without you near.

Now I see love and care

Where menace used to featured…

And I know now that it’s possible to find

Love in unlikely creatures.
