Kaleidoscope
Her hands worked on those. In all bathe in much needed passion. It filled the desires of the hungry heart; it shined for those who were darkened. It was a job she loved doing, the call of passion she heeds.
There were two of them; the one couldn’t bear to be without the other. They were a partner or maybe even more.
But fate, as cruel at it was, played a trick on them, slowly their hands, painted passion, so much of it that it scared them both.
Flashback
She was staring at it on whole different angles. Something was not right, it lacked flavor. It lacked just about everything.
“ARGH! Damned IT!” She was about to slam her fist on the canvas, but someone got a hold it. It made her stop and glance. It was Athrun Zala, smiling as warmly as ever.
He chuckled. “No need to be violent.” She withdrew her hand form his grip and sighed. “Tell you what; we’ll work in this together.”
She pouted. “It aint fair Athrun, this is my exhibit I will work on it ALONE”
Athrun smiled, “So you’re declining my offer?”
Picking up a ‘paint’ balloon, “Absolutely” she answered.
Athrun joined her, “Suit yourself.” He said, with a mocking tone.
“Are you under estimating my capabilities, Zala?” She asked, one eyebrow raised, ready to kill.
“Well, no. I’m just saying that you might need me later…” Athrun said as a matter-of-factly way.
That was the last straw, she snapped.
“That amount to the same thing you DOLT!” she ended up her angry and furious statement, by throwing the balloon, right on his face.
Everything went silent.

The great Zala, took out his hidden weapon, when she least expected it. The two of them was now covered in paint, their faces and clothes, smeared by the colorful liquid.
“This is WAR!”
With that, Cagalli started to launch her balloons; Athrun was losing fast, afraid of his male pride to be eradicated. He dashed for the open can of paint with the last ounce of strength, he threw the can. It perfectly spilled on her feet, when she made a move to see if he was okay. She tumbled, slipped right where he was, her face landing unto his.
That was when time stopped, she guessed.
Lips to lips, locked.
Breathing was fast, pulse erratic.
She saw his eyes close, due to her naïveté; she too, closed her eyes. Everything started to come back to life, his lips felt warm, inviting. She was coaxed, she never pulled away, she couldn’t… she wouldn’t.
It was a sweet and innocent kiss that lasted forever. Curiosity was hungered, she opened her mouth. The feel of his tongue within her left her dazed. Soon they were dancing in unison. Desires were fueled. The place was ignited.
No one knew how or why it happened, it just did. Their bodies rose together in rhythm, desperate to feed, the call of the flesh.
She cried his name, and so did he. They shrieked on its earnest. The experience both left them scattered, unable to pick up the pieces that went all over the whole place.
-Scene Change-
She was perplexed. Tears streamed down her face. She was asking herself, her sweet innocence was taken away by a person that mattered to her a lot.
It bugged her that she should be happy but that would be plain selfishness. Somebody owns him, he was never hers.
Lunamaria Hawke
She was the epitome of grace, she was perfect. Everyday of her life bathed in compliments. Some were absurd, others weren’t.
They stopped talking. She knew it was better this way, she remembered how he told her how much he missed her benign smile. It was all futile now.
A single deed, a single touch, a single fluttering kiss, ended it all. So much for friendship, she had to move on. She had to live life. A soft hand touched her shoulder.
“Athrun…”
Was all she could say, he hugged her from behind. She was stiff, strong enough to fight his advances, she pushed him away. With three fleeting words, she left her heart cold.
‘I love you…so much.”
-Scene Change-
He stared at the ceiling, his thoughts were scattered, beside him lied a magenta haired girl with the sheets covering her naked beauty.
His thoughts were clouded; he picked up the phone beside him. He called her. Much to his surprise she agreed, he didn’t know why. Both of them were finding closure, their consciences feeding on their fragile emotions.
-Scene Change-
The night was freezing. He wore a jacket and so did she. Time once again stopped, when she ran to hugged him. Just as he predicted, she did miss him.
He poured all his pent up emotions, he pressed her up more to his body. She adhered on to him tightly, afraid to let go.
They soon calmed down their raging emotions; it was now time to speak with words.
“So…What have you been up to?”
She was stalling; the head of her sneakers traced the cold floor of the park, her head filled with thoughts.
Athrun smiled. “I’m going to Paris this summer.”
“Oh…”
She frowned, she showed too much disappointment more than she intended to. Without notice, he laced his fingers with hers. She was surprised.
“It’s better to talk this way...” he said, killing off her budding question. Athrun always knew the right words to say.
She summoned her courage, and leaned her head on his shoulder, her fingers roaming on their tightly locked hands.
“How’s Luna?” she asked, a bitter pain went to her chest. It pierced her heart to even spoke of her name, but she knew her limits. She couldn’t hate her just for one useless reason.
He pressed a kiss on her temple, “She’s fine. Our relationship is going smoothly.” He started showering her with kisses on her temple down to her cheek. “I have hurt you...” he mumbled.
Cagalli was speechless at his words, she looked away. “You didn’t.” her voice was cold, her eyes placid.
Athrun titled her chin, his lips came in contact with hers, filling her with the warmth she loved. They didn’t stop kissing; they were in need of each others lone presence. He gave her the most passionate kiss she could ever experience.
Cliché thoughts filled her mind. Will there ever be a happy ending for us? Or there will come a time I’d just have to wake up from this pointless dream?
She broke the kiss with a heavy heart. “Come, let’s go back. It’s midnight.”
“You still love me do you?”
She was stopped at whatever she was doing; she stared up to the milky skies. “Back when I was little, my papa gave me a little kaleidoscope. I had been fascinated at it so much, I mean, who wouldn’t? A child my age would just be fascinated at something as low as that. That’s why I got into painting. I was marveled at its colors. When I feel as if I made the wrong decision on getting into my craft, I peek into that little kaleidoscope. It is enough to comfort me that I made the right choice.”
He knew what she meant. He smiled and grabbed her hand. They walked together in the outskirts of the park, hands laced together.
“Why did you get interested in painting?” Cagalli asked.
Athrun stared into her amber eyes directly. “When my mother died, I tried to find something to separate me from my grief; I went inside an art gallery, it caught my fancy and well, you know the rest.”
“We should really be getting back…”
Both of them kissed each other goodnight, for the last time. They left each other with memories to last.
End flashback
Her hair was in disarray, a blue paint was smeared on her cheek. She looked cute in those baggy t-shirts of hers. Settling down her paint brush, she looked unto the window, enjoying the zephyr that was kissing her face.
Into her jean pocket rested an object of memories, hope, faith, dreams. A simple rounded object. That meant the most to her.
She moved away from the window, and set out on her work once more. Turns out that she ran out of paint. Grabbing her crumpled bills, she set out for the quaint art supplies shop near her abode.
Reaching out her destination, she went inside. "Good Afternoon, Mr. Jenkins" She greeted with a smile. She hurriedly went to the stack of paint, near to the brushes.
"Maybe I'll need some blue..." She mumbled to herself.
"Still as messy as ever, I see..."
She knew that voice. Turning around, it was her confidante. Her eyes immediately switched on the wedding band on his finger. The amber orbs spoke nothing but sadness, a long frown married her features.
I'll tey to get over it as fast as i can. i need constructive criticism. Frankly speaking, this chap. didn't turned out the way i wanted to.
