I don't own these characters I've just taken liberties with them.
Taiituskun threw open the large doors of her conference room and with a regal grace that didn’t match her ancient looks, strode into the room. Two figures already sat at the overly long table and Taiituskun politely nodded her head to both of them until she found her seat at the very end. Two Nyan nyan pulled out her chair then moved to stand on either side of her once she was seated.
“You will tell us why you asked us here once the others arrive.” The low, booming voice of the Genbu god made the table vibrate moments after she sat.
Taiituskun nodded her head again, though it had not been a question but more of a statement. After having lived over 200 years with each other, Genbu and Taiituskun understood one another and knew the others habits and tendencies well enough to know when to ask questions. At the moment, Genbu understood that what she had to say was important enough that they would have to wait for the youngest of the four gods to arrive.
Taiituskun turned her head when she heard a growl like sigh escape from Byakko’s lips, “Are you sure those two aren’t just arguing?”
Before she could answer, and as if on cue, the youngest gods Seiryu and Suzaku, walked through the door, glowering and growling at each other as they did so. Taiituskun heard a low rumbling chuckle come from Genbu at the same time Byakko heaved another sigh. At his age, Genbu could afford to find the bitter rivalry amusing, and at a younger but still old age Byakko could afford to find the constant bickering a nuisance. Taiituskun was both and neither at the same time. At this moment in time however, she found their bickering to be rather befitting the situation, and as such she found them to be more amusing than anything else.
“If you would take a seat,” Taiituskun spoke calmly and politely to both gods who stood at opposing sides of the table, scowls still on their beautiful faces, “Then we could be through this more quickly.”
She watched, her lips twitching to smile, as both Seiryu and Suzaku flipped their long hair over their shoulders and sat down in a regal huff. Genbu didn’t hide his amusement but the ever-mysterious Byakko kept his face an expression-less mask. Even Taiituskun didn’t know what that god thought of or felt half the time; he always kept to himself unless directly engaged, like he’d been today. Taiituskun shook her head then brought both her hands together in a folded steeple on the table in front of her.
“I called for this meeting in reference to what is currently occurring on earth,” she watched as the proud faces of Seiryu and Suzaku both hardened even more, “It is odd that two priestesses would be summoned at one time and because of this abnormality I have decided to call upon an ancient source for help.”
She felt as all four pairs of eyes rested on her, “There is an ancient clan that has always gone without a god protector,” she saw Genbu nod his head and Byakko lean forward slightly while the younger two gods did nothing except continue to scowl, “And it is from that clan that I have called forth help.”
“I thought all of that clan had died out ages ago?” Suzaku spoke up first, barely allowing time for Taiituskun’s voice to die out before he interrupted.
“I always thought that their existence was just a legend that the priests tossed around.” Seiryu frowned over at Suzaku, probably finding the fact that for once they somewhat agreed on something very troubling.
Byakko turned his eyes on the youngsters, “They are a real clan, not just a legend, and they have almost died out.” He looked over at Genbu then Taiituskun before he softly added, “Just not yet.”
Genbu nodded, “They dwelled in the middle of all the universe, having no connection to north or south, east or west, therefore having no god protector.”
Before Seiryu or Suzaku could interrupt again Taiituskun quickly spoke, “They were originally created to bring equilibrium between the four clans. With no specified god protector they had no ties to any clan and could therefore work for or against any clan in order to keep the universe from falling into complete chaos.”
Seiryu spoke next, “What was this clan called? If they have no god protector then who grants them powers?”
Genbu chuckled and Byakko sighed but Taiituskun remained impassive, “The clan is called Kinzoku and I am the one who grants them powers.”
“Their powers would be above any of our celestial warriors then.” Suzaku’s voice was gravely when he interrupted.
Taiituskun nodded, a smile spreading across her lips, “They would need to be in order to keep all of your warriors in check if they suddenly decided to bring the universe to ruin.”
Seiryu snorted, “My warriors would never do that.”
Suzaku growled, “Your warriors are currently doing that.”
Before they could erupt into a fight Byakko spoke evenly, “I know for a fact that none of this clan currently exists in this universe,” he turned his wizened gaze upon Taiituskun, “Where do you plan on finding them?”
“I know where they are,” Genbu spoke before Taiituskun, “We all would if we all knew how to focus on their energy long enough.”
Taiituskun had to duck her head to hide her smile.
“So I take it you know where they are as well?” Byakko’s voice brought her head back up and she nodded, “How many are you bringing into the book?”
Taiituskun sighed, “There are only two left that are old enough yet young enough to do any good so I’ll only bring those two.”
Seiryu smiled, “Two against fourteen? That’s hardly a fighting chance even with their extra powers.”
“Who said they would be against MY warriors?” Suzaku growled again before Taiituskun could reply, “Like I said before MY warriors aren’t doing anything wrong.”
As the two gods again growled and glowered at each other, Taiituskun watched as Genbu stood and nodded politely to her and Byakko, quietly leaving the room without giving the younger gods a second glance. Byakko sat watching to two youngest for a few moments longer before he two stood up and bowed his polite farewell to her, keeping an eye on Seiryu and Suzaku as he left. Taiituskun sighed as she stood up, leaving Seiryu and Suzaku to their own devices for the time being, as she made her way to her own private chamber.
Nyan nyan stood in the middle, a hyper smile on her face, “Do they know? Did you tell them? Are they coming?”
Taiituskun rubbed her temples as she moved to the center of the room where a bowl rested upon its holder.
“Yes, yes, and yes.” She looked into the bowl as Nyan nyan poured a bit of water into it, “Now we just need to find those two, then you can go get them.”
Nyan nyan clapped her hands in glee as she suddenly danced around the goddess. Taiituskun again rubbed her temples as she began to concentrate on the water in the bowl doing her best to tune out Nyan nyan’s singsong voice. Once she found those two everything would be alright…because then she wouldn’t be so tempted to kick the little girl currently dancing around the room.
