1st Coupling: Spelter/Coin

Coin looked around. This was not Discworld he had known.

He was in different world. Different dimensions.

He was hungry and tired for the first time of his life.

He was sad and lonely for the first time of his life.

He was cold… and it was getting dark.

He tried his magic to light a fire and it worked.

He sighed and wiped off his tears, sitting in front of the fire.

He wished there was someone beside him to comfort him. He wished he could lead his own life, without all this annoying magic.

He dozed off slowly, wishing he had some friends who could play and talk…

When he woke up, someone was holding him in his arm.

He nearly jumped to his feet and tried to run away, but that slender figure didn’t let him go.

“Who are you?”

Coin’s voice was shaking. He was scared for first time of his life.

“It’s me, Spelter. You don’t need to worry about it. Wolves were going to eat you when I found you.”

“Spelter? That… that magician in the UU? But- my father killed you!”

Coin gripped man’s wrist. It was solid… Spelter smiled to Coin and held young boy closer.

Coin could fell his heartbeat against Spelter’s…

“I was here when I woke up… And I found you when I tried to find way to get out of here, walking around aimlessly.

As I said before, wolves were going to eat you when I found you.”

Coin nodded in older man’s arm. He felt safe… He thought he would feel like this if he had father. Father who really cares about his son.

“I can send you back to Discworld if you want.”

“Hmm?”

“I have power. And… It was my father who sent you here… That’s the least I can do.”

Coin didn’t want him to go. He wanted to be with him… He cried silently.

“No. I can’t… I can’t go back.”

“Why?”

Coin asked quickly, bit surprised for Spelter’s answer.

“I cannot leave you here. Coin. I really can’t.”

“…You mean… you will stay here for Me?”

“Yes. I knew something was wrong with you. Perhaps I can help you fix them and help you… to be normal.”

“You will do that for me? My father killed you and I did lots of horrible thing… and you will still help me?”

Coin was trembling and crying. Spelter just stroked boy’s back slowly.

Regardless how strong his magic was, how he could think like and adult… Coin was jut eight year old boy.

“I will help you. I will help you here and when you are ready, you can go back to Discworld.”

Spelter kissed on Coin’s forehead. Coin just cried still, not saying anything.

Coin was with his father… for the first time of his life.

And he was felling truly happy for the first time of his life.

Yep. Done it again. This will be slash series for minor characters who just appeared shortly or in just one book.

To me, Coin is just young boy who just badly mistreated.

And Spelter... as he was only one who cared about Coin, it was stuck in my mind as I read Sourcery.
