This is Sekana Katayama. I was inspired by playing FE: PoR just a few moments ago, so I rushed to my computer to write a one-shot. Hope you like!

-This is based on the third chapter events, when Soren returns.-

News of War

"Soren!" Ike exclaimed happily. "It's nice to have you back."

"It's nice to see you as well, Ike." Soren said with a small smile.

Greil came in to talk to Soren for a bit, and Ike left the room.

"Commander, there are some very important things I learned of, while in Melior researching." Soren had been at the large library in the city while with another mercenary group. "Daein has declared war on Crimea."

Immediately, Titania and Ike rushed into the room. Greil gave an exasperated sigh.

"Were you two eavesdropping? Again?" He asked, hoping for a truthful answer.

"No. I just have awesome telepathic abilities." Ike joked, and then turned serious. "What is this stuff about war?"

"Well," Soren began. "Like I was saying, while in Melior, there was a sudden attack. There was no warning whatsoever. The Daein troops razed the city to the ground. It was a massacre. Right now, I believe the king of Crimea and his brother, Duke Renning, are gathering troops to retaliate."

"Why now? I know the Crimeans and Daeins have had an uneasy relationship at best, these last years, but why now?" Greil pondered.

"I suppose they saw an opportunity, and took it. It was good timing, anyway." Soren replied.

"Should we try to help? I mean, Crimea is the closest thing to a homeland we have." Titania said thoughtfully.

"No." Soren answered quickly. "The Daeins have more troops, more supplies, and more resources. Crimea only has a slim chance of coming out on top."

"That doesn't matter! We should fight for Crimea because it is the right thing to do, not because they're going to win the war!" Titania became quite angry with Soren.

"Well, unless coin has crossed our palms, I think it is best to stay out of it." Soren finished, looking complacent.

"Why you-" Titania growled.

"You two, stop your bickering!" Greil demanded, and the two vanished from sight.

"We'll take this outside…" Titania muttered, but neither of the two warriors heard. Soren nodded.

"So, what are we going to do?" Ike asked curiously. "I think we should help Crimea, but…"

He paused, hearing strange noises coming from in front of the place.

"Hiyaaaa!" A shout rang through the building, and soon after came a 'thud.' Then, a 'swish' and a 'fwah' and then some crackling sounds that sounded suspiciously like a fire.

"Aiieeeeeeee!" That was definitely Titania's voice. What was happening out there?

Ike and Greil turned to open the windows, peering out at the scene outside.

Titania was dripping, lowering a bucket from above her head. Had she caught on fire? That was possible, since only three feet away from her was Soren, furiously clutching his fire tome. Yes, that was certainly possible.

Titania rushed forward, iron lance in hand, about to run Soren through. The mage dodged, but she engaged in foul play, gripping the front of his robes, and pulling him towards her.

"Grrr… you won't win like this, captain." Soren spat angrily.

"Oh, just you wait-" She stopped speaking mid-sentence. Oscar, who had just returned from buying supplies, had doused her with the sparkling liquid from a strange bottle.

"What is that?" Ike asked Greil, without looking away from the window.

"I have no clue." Greil shrugged, also not taking his eyes off the scene.

"Hey guys." Oscar chuckled. He put the empty bottle into his bag. "I saw you two fighting, and I just threw something on impulse." He scratched his head sheepishly. Soren, not having been released from Titania, awkwardly looked around her.

"Oscar, what was that stuff you poured on her?" He asked with interest.

"Hmmmm…. Oh yes. I bought so much at the store, they gave me a freebie." He took the bottle out of his bag, reading the label. "Love potion…. Use at own risk…. Hmmm…"

"What?" Soren shouted.

"Oh, it's alright. I doubt it works. Those cheap things never-" Oscar was cut off.

Titania, who had been formerly clutching Soren's robe in a fist, had now started to forcefully kiss him.

"Mmmphmphh!" Came Soren's horrified yell. Unfortunately, it was somewhat muffled.

Oscar chuckled some more, and went into the house, muttering about cheap love potions.

Greil and Ike stared, their jaws dropping at the scene playing out in the front yard. Ike suddenly ran to the kitchen, overcome with shock.

And Greil… Greil just stood there, eyebrow raised, and a fly zooming into his open mouth. He choked, and then resumed watching as Titania pulled Soren into another passionate kiss. He could have sworn he heard a pathetic squeak from the traumatized mage.
