Summary: The summer after sixth year…This will only be a one-shot….Harry is turning 17 in one week and then he is free to leave and do magic….what will happen to the Dursleys?

The air was tense around Privet Drive. The Dursley's tried to go about their daily ritual but….everyday they had to walk past his door…hear his insane cackling. Vernon tried to open the door once and was met with Harry bent over some parchment smiling and laughing to himself. He looked up at the door and saw Vernon there and for some reason that made him laugh harder….well let's just say that Vernon didn't open that door anymore.

He came down for meals only occasionally and when he did he only gave the Dursleys evil looks and seemed like he was trying very hard to keep his laughter inside.

Then came the day….it was July 31. The Dursley's waited and waited…Vernon was awake at three in the morning and was already on alert for anything that may explode or kill his family. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and they carefully ventured out of their rooms and breakfast was made and while they were eating it they heard footsteps on the stairs. They all paused in fear and glanced to the hall as they heard the steps coming closer. Then Harry came in and they all wanted to duck but they just watched….

…..as Harry entered, said a cheerful goodbye and walked out the door…..

'Stupid Muggles' Harry thought to himself while hailing the Knight Bus, 'It's almost too easy to mess with their minds. He boarded the bus and left the house forever.
