Where in the abstract corners of my overactive imagination did THIS come from?

Fluffy little one-shot piece. Judai and Shou…very light Shounen-ai. If that bothers you, don’t read. If you’re a Yugioh fanfic fan…it probably doesn’t bother you since Shounen-ai is all over the fanfiction section.

;p

Bear with me…I’ve only written one other Shounen-ai fic before (which reminds me that I have to go back and edit that and a couple others thanks to ff.n’s new editing changes).

I use the Japanese names, here…and it takes place after episode 50, but before episode 51 of season 1. Still, some slight spoilers are ahead.

For those that don’t know the Japanese names:

Judai – Jaden

Shou – Syrus

That’s all you have to know in terms of names, here. For info on some of the people mentioned, or catching up on episodes, check out Janime’s website. Tons of information…really good, too.

I also use some Japanese words.

First off, there’s “Aniki”…it means ‘big brother’, and it’s what Shou calls Judai because he sees him as his “heart’s brother” since episode 2.

Other words used:

Mou – Geez

Itei – Ow (also spelled ‘Itai’)

Aishiteru – I love you

Oh…I don’t own Yugioh GX. Heck, I don’t even think I own my imagination, it’s so out of control sometimes…

Nature’s Symphony

--Dream--

I stood there, helpless. I was always standing helpless when Aniki dueled. He was dueling some big, bulky shadow thing…I couldn’t make it out really well. I was trapped in some sort of force-field…sort of when Darkness captured me. The ‘cage’ I was in was slowly sinking into the water.

“Aniki!” I shout.

“Hang in there, Shou!” Judai shouts back, “I’ll definitely win!”

The shadow laughs.

“You can do it, Aniki!” I call out, though I’m scared. Aniki has 200 life points, and Elemental Hero Thunder Giant on the field in attack mode. It’s the shadow’s turn…he has nothing on the field. Aniki had just made sure of that. He has 100 life points.

I know Aniki can win.

Then, the shadow goes. He draws…and then laughs.

“It’s all over for the both of you!” the shadow laughed, “I summon Servant of Catabolism in attack mode! Do you know? This monster can attack your life points directly!”

I gasped as the snail-like thing zipped through the air and nailed Aniki.

His life points dropped to zero.

I screamed as Aniki was assaulted by lightening, causing him to cry out in pain. But my vision of him being hurt was short-lived, as the cage I was in was submerged in the water, and started to fill with water. I pushed at the sides, but I couldn’t get out. The last thing I saw was foggy faces laughing at me…

--End Dream--

Shou woke up with a scream, a loud crashing of thunder accompanying it. He whimpered and gasped for breath, wiping sweat off his forehead, trembling. His head was pounding, and he couldn’t tell if he felt hot or cold.

Another crash of thunder and a flash of lightening, and he remembered his dream.

Shou gulped and shivered, pulling the blankets around himself in fear of the storm. I gotta calm down…I’m not drowning, and Aniki is… Shou flung off the blanket and grabbed onto the ladder, slipping and falling to the ground with a dull ‘thud’.

“Itei…” Shou whimpered, sitting up.

Movement on the lower bunk, and a sleepy Judai looked over the edge, “That you, Shou?”

Shou couldn’t help it as he flung himself at the boy, wrapping his arms around Judai’s middle and sobbing, “You’re okay!”

Judai was thrown off-balance, and blinked, “Eh…what? Of course I’m okay. You must’ve been dreaming, Shou. Er…you can let go, now…”

Shou started to release his grip, when another crash of thunder caused him to hold on tighter and whimper. He shivered…it was cold in the room…and a bit damp from the storm. Shou gulped, suddenly not feeling so well.

“Ack…Shou! I needta breathe!” Judai yelped, then sighed and patted the boy on the shoulder, “Hey…it’s just a storm…” he frowned a bit, “Shou? You okay?” Judai wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but Shou’s shoulder had felt abnormally warm, even with the clothing over it.

“Ye…no,” Shou sniffled, shivering as he pulled back, “S-sorry, Aniki…”

Judai shook his head, “What’s wrong?”

Shou wrapped his arms around himself, trembling, “It was just a dream…” He sniffled again, frowning miserably.

Judai shook his head and put a hand to Shou’s forehead, “Yikes…feels like you’ve got a fever. We should get dressed and go to the infirmary…”

A loud crash of thunder and the steady drumming of rain hitting the roof cut him off.

“Er…on second thought, if you can wait till morning…” Judai rubbed the back of his head. He didn’t want Shou to get even worse, and it wouldn’t help if he came down with something, as well.

“Aniki…”

“Aw, don’t worry about it,” Judai shook his head, “It’s just a little storm…won’t hurt you.”

“I don’t feel so good,” Shou mumbled, bowing his head and shivering.

“Course not…you’re sick,” Judai shook his head.

Kuri, kuri.”

Judai nodded to the spirit of Hane Kuriboh, then turned back to Shou, “Hey…how bout telling me what your dream was about?”

Shou sniffled and wiped his eyes, then fixed his glasses, “I was captured, and you were dueling to get me back…and you lost…and it was a shadow duel, and you were being electrocuted while I sunk into the water…and…” fresh tears welled up in his eyes.

Judai draped an arm around the boy’s shoulders, “I’m not go’n anywhere, Shou. It was just a dream. I mean, hey, I beat that tomb guy, the vampire, that amazon, Darkness, Kagemaru, and even managed to get a passing grade at the academy!”

Shou sniffled and smiled slightly at Judai’s attempt to lighten the mood. He ended up clinging to the boy again after another loud crash of thunder. “Aniki…I’m sorry for being so weak…”

“It’s okay. You’re not weak,” Judai assured him, smiling, “You’re scared, and you’re sick. I’ll take you to the infirmary first thing in the morning, kay? Or do you need to go now? I can probably call Asuka and ask her to wake up her dorm head that acts as the nurse most of the time…”

“It’s okay…” Shou wiped his eyes, “I…just don’t want to be alone.”

Judai nodded, then smiled, “Hey, how bout we have a sleepover? That’d be fun, right?”

“What if you catch what I have?” Shou asked, sniffling.

Judai grinned, “Nah! I have an impenetrable immune system!” He thumped a fist to his chest. Then, he coughed as he accidentally knocked the wind out of himself.

Shou laughed lightly.

Judai grinned, “Feel’n better?”

Shou nodded, “A bit…yea.”

“Come on,” Judai pulled the boy back onto the bed, and laughed at Shou’s startled yelp when the smaller boy fell on top of him.

“Aniki!”

“What?”

Shou blushed but said nothing, accepting the invitation and crawling under the covers. He yelped at another crash of thunder, clinging to the warm body next to him as the blanket was put on top of them by Judai.

“Take it easy, there,” Judai smiled softly.

Shou shivered and curled up, feeling slightly warmed by the covers and having Judai next to him.

“It’s nature’s symphony.”

Shou blinked and looked at Judai.

Judai grinned, “That’s what mom told me when I was younger. When I was little, and there was this huge crash of thunder…and then the downpour that followed. I ran to mom, and she told me that it’s just nature’s symphony.”

Shou listened.

“Yea,” Judai nodded, “See, the thunder is the drummer…it’ll tap lowly at the drums at first, then slam down on the tambourines. And the lightening is the light effects person to add show to it. The rain is a bunch of different instruments, depending on what they land on. They’re a string instrument if they land in water and make a ‘plunk’ sound…and they’re a brass instrument if they fall on something like a car roof.”

Another crash of thunder sounded.

Shou shivered, but didn’t flinch this time. He smiled, “Your mom sounds like a nice person.”

Judai grinned, “She is. A bit odd at times, but…”

“Must run in the family.”

“Well, I……HEY!”

Shou laughed at the expression on Judai’s face, then covered his mouth and coughed a couple times.

Judai grinned, “Okay…I set myself up for that one, huh?”

“Yea,” Shou replied hoarsely, nuzzling back into Judai.

Judai smiled and yawned, “Well, I dunno bout you, but I’m pretty beat.”

“From what? You slept in class all day.”

“But I didn’t get a single duel all day!” Judai groaned.

Shou stared at him, then laughed, “Mou, Aniki…”

Another crash of thunder hit, but this time, Shou just smiled as he felt comforted being next to his fearless heart’s brother.

“Night, Shou.” A little shy and clingy…but really nice…being next to him like this. I wonder if I…

“Night,” Shou yawned, and closed his eyes. Aishiteru, Aniki. And someday, I’ll tell you that.

The two fell asleep, smiling as they started thinking similar thoughts, while nature’s symphony played in the background.

THE END

There! Like I said, I have no clue where this came from. Little 3-page GX Shounen-ai……no idea. My mind generated it somewhere. Sometimes, my imagination scares even me.
