Song: "Hold On" by Nicole Nordeman
Don't got 'em, wish I did, 'cause I wouldn't drop amazing plotlines!
Falling Freely
It will find you at the bottom of a bottle
It will find you at the needle's end
It will find you when you beg and steal and borrow
It will follow you into the stranger's bed
Danny walks into the crowded bar, the dim lights and hazy smoke obscuring the occupants. He steps uncertainly to the bar, looking around carefully before sitting on a stool. He lifts a finger to the bartender, then accepts the glass slid across to him. Staring down at the amber liquid, he rubs one hand across his eyes before swallowing the contents and setting the glass down. A woman sits next to him, scantily dressed and very flirtatious.
Elena sits in the corner, watching as Danny orders another glass and downs it without hesitation, motioning for the barkeeper to give the woman a drink as well. Elena's eyes are sad, her hand playing with the handle of her mug of coffee.
It will find you when they serve you with the papers
It will find you when the locks have changed again
Jack sits at his desk, weariness etched in his face. He fiddles with his wedding ring, his gaze resting on a framed photograph of two beautiful, smiling young girls. He pulls the ring off his finger slowly, carefully setting it on his desk.
It will find you when you've called in all your favors
It will meet you at the bridge's highest ledge
Martin limps to his car, pulling his keys out of his pocket. Pain lines his face, and as the key approaches the door, it shakes and he drops them. Throwing his head back in frustration, he steels himself to bend and pick them up. He rests one hand against the car, bending his knees and grimacing as the pain flares. His hand slips and he falls to his knees, hitting his head on the side of the car. He turns and sits on the ground holding his side, his head back, breathing hard. A sheen of pain and anger is evident in his eyes.
Sam appears beside the car, sliding down gracefully to sit next to him. She hesitates, then takes his hand gently, interlacing her fingers with his. He closes his eyes, his breathing evening out.
So hold on
Love will find you
Hold on
