Chapter 33: The REAL Final Battle (AKA: The Battle for the World)

It was time for Mario's final battle in the continent of Rogueport. Before the battle could begin, Grodus started cursing under his breath. The shadow queen turned around and blasted his head into an unknown location using a thunderbolt. She turned to face Mario and stated, "You may think you can win but you don't stand a chance! You wouldn't hurt your girlfriend's body, now, would you?" Mario grimaced at this lame attempt and answered, "I would because Peach would want it that way!" Luffy stopped Zoro as he tried to help. "Mario needs to cope with this problem himself. If he had help, he would feel guilty. Don't forget, Zoro, I've let you fight your own battles many times!" Zoro nodded and sheathed his swords. Vivian was awestruck by this show of display. She always assumed that all pirates were bad until she met Luffy and Zoro. These people were truly amazing. They didn't steal money or ask for rewards. They were her kind of company. They were what she had wished her sisters were like. They were kind, generous, and willing to help others. Mario drew his hammer and started to smack the shadow queen around with it. The shadow queen didn't care as she said, "You're better than I thought, but there is a problem. I may not know how to use this body, but I'm sure that I can defeat you with it!" The shadow queen summoned more thunderbolts. While Mario recovered from three successful blows to the head, the shadow queen made herself more powerful. She cast a spell that increased her defensive and offensive power. Mario started to hit her again but the blows only dealt a little damage now. The shadow queen shot another thunderbolt at Mario and was about to deliver the finishing blow when Mario used his hammer to deflect the blast back at the shadow queen. She felt an impulse go through her. And this was to be expected for she HAD increased her power AND the thunderbolts were able to go through defense no matter how high it was. She screamed in agony as Peach's body started to quiver. "That does it! It seems I underestimated you! It's official! This vessel is too weak for my use! I'll just resume my original form!" The shadow queen turned back into her old self. With that, she trapped Peach's body within her stomach. She still had possession of Peach and still used her in order to communicate. "Let's see you beat me now, hero."

ROGUEPORT

As this happened, Rogueport was covered in darkness. The residents stared in confusion.

PETALBURG

In Petalburg, the sky turned dark and filled with clouds. The koopas stared in confusion.

BOGGLY WOODS

The Boggly Woods started to turn dark and the Puni stared in confusion.

GLITZVILLE

In Glitzville, Everything was turning dark as the guests stared in wonder.

TWILIGHT TOWN

Around this point, the residents noticed and earthquake start up. They ran around in panic.

KEELHAUL KEY

In Keelhaul Key, the residents on the island started to run around in panic as the earthquake raged on.

POSHLEY HEIGHTS

Pennington stared on in confusion as the ground shook. "Oh, could this be the end of the world?"

FAHR OUTPOST

The mayor breathed a sigh of relief when the earthquake stopped and stated, "Oh, I hope nothing bad has happened to Mario and his friends."

THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR

Mario took a defensive stance. Mario jumped on the queen only to find that his attack did nothing. He decided to use Quake Hammer in hopes that it would bust through her defense, but there was no luck, whatsoever. "Gum-Gum Cannonball!" Luffy sent out a series of punches to the shadow queen but, once again, nothing happened. Zoro and Vivian hit her together but to no avail. The shadow queen was invincible. "You really think you could hurt me, you fools? Well, this body is much more suiting and, just in case, I might as well revitalize myself." She called in her lackeys and absorbed them into her body using a series of hands pulling them into the ground. (Imagine hands pulling someone into the ground in a horror movie.) Her strength had returned to her. To make things worse, she was ready to kill Mario. One of her hands vanished and reappeared right next to Mario and squashed him flat. Her other hand disappeared and reappeared next to Luffy. Realizing that Luffy was made of rubber, she used a magical force to suck the life out of him. The others tried to help but her hands vanished and in their place appeared an army of zombie-like arms sticking out of the ground. They all rushed at the four and knocked them out. Luffy survived but was pulled under by the hands and beaten to a pulp by the hands in the underworld. Even though they were still moving, that didn't last long for the shadow queen summoned up four thunderbolts, taking them out. They were barely standing now. "Oh, what will we do?" asked Mario. "We don't stand a chance." Complained Vivian. "She's too powerful." Complained Zoro. Luffy folded his arms and retorted, "We have to keep trying! The world is counting on us!" Mario nodded as he noticed a miracle taking place. The Crystal Stars came out of his invisible pocket and floated around his head. They soon separated and traveled to all the areas of the continent. Vivian stared in wonder and asked, "What's going on?"

PETALBURG

The first Crystal Star went to Petalburg. Mayor Kroop looked at it and asked, "Hey, isn't that the Crystal Star that Murphy was looking for?" Koops' father answered, "Why, I think it is!" Koopie looked it over and asked, "But what's it doing here?" Kroop shuddered and stated, "It must be here to destroy us! I knew this star was no good!" Koops' father listened closely and said, "Listen. It's trying to tell us something! It-it's talking." Koopie gasped as she stated, "It says that Mario is fighting to save the world! Oh, I hope Koops is okay!" Koops' father chuckled and stated, "Only one way to insure that! We gotta' cheer our hearts out!" All the koopas gathered and shouted, "Go Mario!" and "Go get 'em, Mario!" and "Kick his butt, old chap!"

GREAT BOGGLY TREE

The second Crystal Star went to the Boggly Tree. The Elder noticed it and asked, "Say, what's that doing here? Didn't Marty-O already claim this thing?" Punio hushed her and stated, "It's saying something. It says that Mario is fighting to save the world!" Petuni and Puniper heard it too as the elder barked, "Well, what are we standing around here for? We have to support Marty-O in his time of need!" The Puni all got together and started to cheer on Mario and give him all the power they had.

GLITZVILLE

Glitzville got the same message. The Armored Harriers got together and barked, "Come on, Gonzales, don't let the world blow up on us! If you do, we'll never forgive you!" Rawk Hawk pointed to the screen and shouted, "Yeah, you better not mess up! Anyone who beats me is not allowed to lose! Do this for the RAAWWK!" Jolene lifted up her glasses and stated, "Come on, you can do it Mario."

THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR

Suddenly, a whole bunch of voices showed up out of nowhere. They all supported Mario. The shadow queen looked around and asked, "Where are all these horrible voices coming from?" Mario recognized them all. These voices belonged to Mario's friends.

TWILIGHT TOWN

The residents got the same message as Darkly stated, "Wow, so Mario's fighting to save the world." A woman showed up and said, "Well, I just hope that darling Vivian girl is alright up there."

KEELHAUL KEY

Pop-Patch led a group of Toads and bob-ombs. "All right, here goes, ye' landlubbers! One, two, three!" "Go Mario!" Pop-Patch shuddered and retorted, "That wasn't loud enough! C'mon! Belt it out!" "GOOOOOO MARIO!" "Go get 'em, Mario!" "You da' man, Mario!" "Come on, Bobbery, don't cave in!" Pop-Patch looked up at the dark sky and stated, "Well, Mario, this is it. Make us proud."

POSHLEY TOWN

Bub looked up at the star and stated, "Go get 'em, Gonzales!" Silver Bomb looked up and added, "You can do it, Gonzales!" Gold Bob chuckled and stated, "I know you can do this, Gonzales! You have what it takes!" The super model looked at the star and stated, "Save us all, my hero, Mario." The fat guy, Heff T. looked up and added, "You can do anything, Mario." Pennington smiled and added, "Yeah! Wait… what? Gonzales? Mario? Not Luigi?"

FAHR OUTPOST

A whole army of bob-ombs stood in the middle as the mayor ordered, "Now, on the count of three! One, two, three!" "GOOOOOOOOOOOO MAAAARRRRRRIIIIIIOOOOOO!" "Go get 'em, Mario." "You can do it, Mario." "We believe in you, Mario." The mayor looked at General White and stated, "I only hope that Mario can pull this off. This is all the help we can give him."

THOUSAND-YEAR DOOR

The shadow queen started to get tired of all these cheers. It was during this time that all of Mario's allies showed up right next to him. Suddenly, the Crystal Stars came back to him. There were all kinds of cheers. "You da' man, Mario!" "Kick their butts, Goombella!" "You can do it, Koops!" "We believe in you Flurry!" "Go get 'em, Gonzales!" "Kick that monster's butt, Vivian!" "You can do it, Bobbery!" "Go get 'em, Luigi!" (Yes, Pennington is still calling him Luigi.) The cheers, the supporters, the friends, all of them made the shadow queen sick. She soon shuddered and shrieked as a huge impulse of power entered her body. Vivian smiled and stated, "Wow, all these people want us to win!" Mario chuckled and stated, "You know, two of those people cheering were those three goombas who attacked you in Rogueport Sewers, Goombella." Goombella blushed and decided it was for the best. The shadow queen shrieked in agony as all her high defense and immortality left her. She was now vulnerable. Mario could hurt her now. She couldn't believe it. And before she knew it, Peach had struggled free from her control. "What's this? You can't still be conscious!" Peach let down a teardrop and stated, "I'm sorry I dragged you into this, Mario, and to show my gratitude, I will give up some of my power to help you win!" Peach transferred a whole bunch of power to Mario and his allies. Before they knew it, they had been completely revitalized. The shadow queen was now very angry. She had regained control of Peach as she shouted, "ENOUGH OF THIS! It's time to die!" Mario and his friends were now flowing with power. Mario unleashed a massive Hip Drop on the shadow queen. Goombella used her most powerful attack, Multi-Bonk. Koops used an attack called Shell Slam. Flurry unleashed an attack known as Lip Lock. She kissed the shadow queen on the cheek thus absorbing some of her strength. Kikkoman summoned a stampede of Yoshis. The Yoshis all came in at once and ran over the shadow queen. Vivian unleashed her usual Fiery Jinx. It not only burned the shadow queen but also destroyed her arms. Bobbery unleashed his most powerful attack, Bob-ombast! He created a huge explosion. Ms. Mowz even helped by using Tease, which made the shadow queen dizzy while Mario whacked her in the head with his hammer. "Gum-Gum Pistol!" Luffy punched the shadow queen in the chin while Zoro slashed her multiple times. But, for some reason, the shadow queen was still standing. "Enough of this foolishness!" she barked. "You have all gotten on my nerves! It's time to finish you off once and for all!" She absorbed a whole bunch of dark energy and unleashed it upon all of Mario's allies. Everyone could now barely move a muscle. One more hit would spell the end of them. Suddenly, to everyone's surprise, the Crystal Stars got together and unleashed devastating attacks. The first one created an earthquake. The second one immobilized the shadow queen. The third one lowered her strength and defense. The third one drew around her and caused siring pain to her. The last three combined together to unleash the ultimate attack, Supernova! The light caused the shadow queen to scream in agony as she disappeared back into her tomb and Peach was free from her spell. "No! How could I lose?" It was over. The world had been saved and most importantly, the princess was okay. "Oh, thank you so much, Mario!" As Peach hugged Mario, Frankly showed up and stated, "Excellent job, Mario! You made me proud! We finally have the treasure and the world has been saved! Well, let's go home, shall we?"

ROGUEPORT

It was time for Mario to leave. He and Peach waved goodbye to their new friends. "Goodbye, and thanks for everything!" exclaimed Peach. The others said their good-byes in their own little way. "Mario, you have inspired me to go out and see the world! If I hadn't met you, we wouldn't have found the treasure!" stated Goombella. "M-Mario, you g-gave me c-confidence! I-I can't thank you enough!" stated Koops. Flurry gave Mario a kiss and stated, "You are an inspiration to us all, Mario!" Vivian kissed Mario and stated, "I'll miss you, Mario." Kikkoman jumped up and down and stated, "I've now decided to travel the world and fight because of you, Gonzales! Oh, I have got to stop calling you that and call you Mario, but you'll always be Gonzales to me!" Ms. Mowz waved goodbye and blushed. "Treat Peach with care!" Bobbery chuckled and stated, "If it weren't for you, I would have never gone back out to sea! Thank you, old boy!" The others from earlier were there as well. The mayor of Fahr Outpost, Koopie, Rawk Hawk, Punio, Petuni, Flavio, Darkly and Pennington were all there. Goombella stated, "Well, we may see you again because…" She put on an eye patch and stated, "Were all joining Luffy's crew! AR!" Mario was surprised. He couldn't imagine Luffy's ship fitting so many people, but he understood as he noticed that the Merry Go was now bigger and better than ever. They all said their good-byes and headed off in different directions.
