"Where's Greg?" asked Nick as he walked into the hospital's waiting room.
"Getting his arm operated on. God..." said Sara. She held her head in her hands.
"What happened?"
"Maybe if he wasn't so damn protective."
"What are you talking about?"
"Bar fight. Greg was in the bathroom. Some rude drunk came up and started hitting on me. Greg came back and started to get in a fight with the guy. He might've won if the guy didn't have like, ten friends. They thinkGreg broke his arm, but they had to take x-rays and they haven't told me what if he did or not. This sucks..."
"I'm sorry." Nick sat down and held her hand.
"Ma'am?" asked anurseas she walked into the waiting room. Sara looked up.
"Yes?" she asked.
"He only sprained his wrist. He also cracked three ribs. But we're concerned about something else."
"What is it?" asked Nick.
"He has some cuts on his stomach, from what looks like fingernails. They're infected, but it wasn't from tonight's incident." Sara looked stunned. She didn't know about this. "And, I was wondering if you knew, has he ever been stabbed that you know of? A long time ago." Sara shook her head. She had no knowledge of any of these things. She figured, if he wanted her to know, he'd tell her. Greg's doctor walked in and mumbled something to the nurse and left. "You two can go see him now." They quickly got to their feet and followed the nurse into Greg's room. He was asleep. Obviously on some medication. Sara walked over to his bed. "He can go home when ever he's ready," said the nurse. She smiled and walked off. Nick stood at the end of the bed. They both were very tired and not want to spend the rest of their time waiting for Greg to wake up. Sara held Greg's hand. He moaned and his eye started to flicker open.
"Wake up, sleepy head," she whispered in his ear. She examined his left arm. It wasn't hard to figure out that that was the sprained arm.
"You know, there's a bright side to all of this," said Greg quietly.
"What's that?" asked Nick.
"I think I just made the book of world records."
"For what? Being the biggest moron in the world?" asked Sara sarcastically.
"That. And person who went to the hospital more than three times in less than three months."

Greg sat in the back seat of Nick's SUV and Sara accompanied him. Nick obviously drove. Greg's head leaned against the cold glass window and Sara had her head on his shoulder.
"Sar, do you need a ride back to your place?" asked Nick.
"I was wondering if I could stay with you. To make sure Greg's okay."
"I'm fine-" Greg started.
"Shut up," she laughed. "Look, just so you can get some rest and don't have to worry about him."
"I mean I don't mind staying up, but I'm not gonna stop you from coming over," said Nick. She smiled. She lifted her head to look at the time on the clock. It was twelve o' clock PM already.

When they pulled into Nick's driveway, they saw the light on in his house.
"I turned off all the lights when I left," said Nick nervously reaching down for his gun.
"Are you sure?" asked Sara. Nick nodded and got out of the car. "Stay in here." Not caring about what Nick said, Greg started to get out of the car.
"Stop it, Greg," said Sara.
"I got this," said Greg.
"No-" he opened the door and got out. She reached her arm out attempting to grab him, but missed. She unbuckled her seatbelt and followed him. Once Nick stepped inside, he saw Greg.
"Get out of here!" he whispered.
"No!" whispered Greg. They went into the kitchen and saw a familiar face. "John?" Greg's brother turned suddenly. He wore an angry look on his face. "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you," he said angrily.
"What are you mad about?"
"You!"
"What the- what did I do?"
"Dad's gonna get the death penalty because of you." The younger brother smiled. Greg didn't undertsand what was going on. One minute his brother was mad; the next: smiling. "Good job." John stepped forward and hugged Greg. Nick and Sara had no clue what was going on what-so-ever. Then Nick remembered what Greg had told him and understood. Sara was still lost.
"Dude, you scared us-" started Greg.
"Yeah, sorry about that. Can we talk- wait. What happened to your wrist. Did something happen?"
"C'mon." Greg led John out of the room.
"What was that?" asked Sara.
"I don't know..." Nick lied.

They both lay on his bed. They had been quiet, though Sara had something on her mind. Many things actually.
"I'm really confused," she said. He turned on his side to look at her. Then he reached out to hold her hand. With the one hand he could use.
"I know. I guess I should come clean now."
"That might be helpful. Look, I love you. You don't have to be scare to tell me things." He nodded.
"Okay," he took in a deep breath. "I guess I'll start from the beginning. When I was a kid- my dad was abusive to me and John." He swallowed with his eyes tearing up. He was an alcoholic. When I was seventeen he went into rehab. He tried to clear things up with us, but it wasn't working to well. Then when I went back for my mother's funeral, he hit me andI was outa there a soon as I could be." Sara started to hughim, when their lips met.
"Umm, the nurse said something about fingernail marks..."
"Oh, a couple nights ago... I was a tad out of it and I bumped into some chick at a crime scene. She totally got offensive."
"Oh..." Sara leaned in to kiss Greg again.
