A New Friendship

The train horn blares

It's time to leave.

Children scramble to get onto the train

But I don't have to, I'm already on.

I've been on since it opened.

I've no friends to catch up with,

No family I want to hug

Or that want to hug me.

Of course I'm scared

What first year isn't?

I'm more frightened than them, though,

Much more.

He walks in, looking like a fallen angel

Black hair

Brilliant gray eyes.

He speaks to me.

"Sirius Black" (heavenly voice)

I hesitate,

Then shake his hand

"Remus Lupin."

This is going to be better than I thought.
