Author's Notes: This is exactly 100 words long if you don't count the author's notes. That's besides the point, though. I guess you could call this a poem...it's about Shinichi, Heiji, Hakuba and Kaito, in that order. Each of them answers the same question but apparently they all have a different answer.

Why do I do the things I do?

I do them to gain revenge. Because I cannot let them get away with what they did.

I do them because I never let a friend down. I fight by your side until the end.

I do them to find out why you do some things. Is there a purpose to this?

Why do I do the things I do?

I do them because I see no other way. I carry on my fathers legacy.
