Author's Notes: I was bored and suddenly I had an idea for a poem. The point of view is Hakuba's. He's bound to realize sooner or later that the Kid is being shot at. I tried to make a poem about the detectives thoughts when he notices that he's chasing the victim, not the culprit.

Understanding

When I came to Japan
I was suprised
I think I found an equal
This you never denied

One plays rogue
the other plays fair
But since neither gives up
I guess we're a pair

I put two and two together
I realized it all
Our pride is what makes us weak
It will be our downfall

I won't let you guess my plan
I will still play cold
But only 'til you tell me 'why'
Until you remove this blindfold

I'm beginning to understand
I think I now know
Don't worry about them shooting you down
'cause I'll be waiting below
