Chapter One: We’ve Grown Older

Noishe kept on whining on the way, “Whine”

“Noishe? What’s the matter boy? You homesick? Me too, hey Sheena, you ready yet?” Lloyd said setting his bag on his back.

“Yeah coming,” Sheena said coming out of her tent with her bag... It was huge!

“Whoa! What’s with all the stuff?” Lloyd said finally noticing the bag. “What’s in there?”

Sheena put down her bag slowly as if it were very fragile. “These are gifts for the guys when we see them,” She sat right away because of the weight.

“Sure, you got each of them a miniature elephant didn’t you?”

“No stupid, those cost too much. I just got them gifts, from places,” She said lifting the bag and trying to put it on, but it was too heavy and dropped. “Oops.”

“Yeah, ok, HEY? When did you buy them? I don’t remember us shopping, ever,” He said as he picked up the bag and put it on his own back.

“Um...Uh... I didn’t exactly buy them...”

“WHAT? You stole them didn’t you?”

“Fine, I did, who cares? Let’s just go,” She quickly hopped on Noishe and left.

“Wait up!” He ran towards them.

“Thanks for carrying the bag, I can’t believe that you can carry that,”She said as they slowly approached Dirk’s house.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine, although I can’t believe you can’t carry it,”

“Why?”

“Because besides Presea, you’re the strongest girl I know, not even Genis would be able to carry this.”

She blushed a bit at his compliment, “Thanks, I miss those guys, but you know, Genis might be able to carry this bag, it has been three years.”

“Yeah you’re right, I wonder how they’re doing anyways,” He thought, but then he saw his house, “Hey look, we’re here!”

He quickly ran to his house, put the bag near the saving spot, and hugged his dad. “Hey Lloyd, it’s been three years, it’s nice to see you, how’s Sheena?”

Lloyd took his seat and said “Oh yeah, I have to get Sheena, she’s probably having trouble with Noishe,” He said rushing out, “Ok dad, she’s fine but I’ll be right back!”

He walked outside to see Sheena putting Noishe in and petting his head. “Wow, he really likes you now, I don’t blame him.”

“Re-really?” She said and looked down blushing.

“Yes, I don’t blame him because you’ve been with him for three years,” He said and closed the gate for Noishe.

“Yeah,” She didn’t exactly want to here that answer, but it was true, it’s been three years, and they’ve just arrived back, and they’re going to visit the others, see how they’ve been doing. Now she’s 22 and he’s 20, still pretty young.

“Hurry, it’s time to go to bed, you sleep on my bed and I’ll sleep on the floor ok?” He told Sheena as they went up the stairs.

“Ok then if you want.”

“Ok then, I’ll just set up my sleeping bag.” He said pulling out his old one. Sheena just stepped outside.

It was beautiful and it was a full moon. She sighed though, it’s been three years, three years just her, Lloyd, and Noishe looking for exspheres. ‘Oh, stupid Lloyd, it’s been three years since that time you told me you wanted to go here. To search for exspheres.’

FLASHBACK

‘I’m going to search the world for all the exspheres, will you come with me and help?’

Sheena blushed at the thought of just her and Lloyd.

‘Yes I will.’

She turned to him ‘I want to be with you.’

He smiled, ‘I want to be with you too.’

END FLASHBACK

She thought to herself, ‘I wish he would notice me soon, and realize that I like him and that he would stop acting like a kid, he’s twenty for cheese sakes! There were so many times when I was close to admitting it.’

ANOTHER FLASHBACK

Volt had struck the giant opponent and left as the beast fell down. They had finally gotten the exsphere of the sister of a girl named Kate.

‘Wow Sheena that was great, I wish I could summon.’

She blushed as she remembered her talk with him before.

‘I told you, you can but you’ll have to marry someone with those powers,” She turned red and looked down.

‘Hm... You’re right, I remember, how about you?’ He asked sitting next to her.

She thought, ‘Wow I did not expect that.’ But then she blushed even harder.

‘We have been great friends for a long time,’

‘And...’

‘When we get married, we can become partners, that’ll be fun!’ Lloyd said laughing.

‘Ugh...He doesn’t get what getting married is...’She thought.

END OTHER FLASHBACK

Sheena heard footsteps approach the her. “Hey, looking at the stars?” Lloyd began standing next to her

“You can say that, and I am thinking about us.”

“Us? Oh you mean how we’ll be friends forever!”He said smiling.

“You don’t get it do you?”She said turning, looking down.

“Get what? Why, you don’t want to be friends?”He frowned at the thought.

“No, its not that,” She said turning back up to the stars.

“Then what is it?” He said facing her looking concerned.

“Do you like me?” She said still staring up.

“Well yeah, of course, I like you and Noishe, why?”

“I guess you’re hopeless,”She turned walking towards the house.

Lloyd just stood there, having no clue what she meant, ‘Well, I guess I’ll go to bed, tomorrow we’re heading for Iselia after all.’ And he went inside to sleep.

The next day Lloyd waved good bye to Dirk and with Sheena and Noishe they left.

They slowly approached Iselia, Lloyd remembering his times there and Sheena, seemed depressed and just looked down...

Finally they had made it to Iselia. They put Noishe away and headed to Raine and Genis’ house.

“I guess nothing really changed here,” Sheena said and they walked in.

“Professor! Genis! It’s Lloyd and Sheena!” And he sat down with Sheena by his side.

Genis had heard Lloyd’s voice and quickly ran downstairs, “Hey!Lloyd!It’s been three years! How have you been?” And Genis quickly sat himself on the other side of Lloyd. Raine, had already been there, and she was sitting next to Sheena.

“Yes Lloyd and Sheena, it’s been three years, how have you two been? Oh and Sheena, why so glum?” Raine spoke.

“Hm...I don’t want to say, anyways,” She put a fake smile on, “We’re fine, oh and I have gifts for you two!” And Sheena took the bag from Lloyd and took out a book and a figurine.

“For Genis it’s an action figure of himself from people I asked to make a long time ago but forgot to get it back. So it looks like you three years ago. And for Raine, I got this book on special elven spells that heal more and some holy damage magic,” And then she tucked the bag away.

“Wow!” Genis said playing with his action figure. “I love it thanks, and isn’t that bag heavy Lloyd? Can I see if I can carry it?”

“Sur-“ and he got interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Oh it’s the others,” Raine said as she stood up.

“Others?” Lloyd and Sheena said at the same time.

“Yup, we called Colette, Presea, Regal, and Zelos,” And Genis ran to the door.

“That’s great right Sheena?”

“Yeah, I guess.”

Then they just sat there as they all came in and sat down. Its been three years, each of them grew and seem a tad different, but none of them really changed.

“Hey voluptuous!” Zelos said as he sat down, “Ah together again, all my hunnies, how are you all?”

“We’re fine Zelos how are all you guys?” Lloyd said

“Fine,” They all said in unison.

“I believe it is getting late,” Presea said and they all stood up.

“How about a slumber party at my house?” Colette said smiling. And they all nodded and left to her house.

Once they arrived there, Regal quickly went to bed but the rest stayed up.

“Hey, we have to change to our pjs, we’ll go to the bathroom, you guys stay here,”Colette said leading Sheena, Presea and Raine out.

The guys were alone in the room changing. “Hey Genis, you’re fifteen now right?” Zelos said.

“Yeah, why?” Genis asked.

“Well, you’re older now, and so we can play truth or dare,” Zelos said.

“What’s that?” Lloyd and Genis said at the same time.

Zelos was shocked to hear this, “I can’t believe you two don’t know. Anyways, everyone takes turn, the rest ask truth or dare and the person whose turn it is says one of them, so then the others either ask a question, or they dare you.”

The others thought for a while, “Oh, I get it.” Lloyd said.

“So anyways, zelos have you done anything?”

“No not really, just travel looking for the perfect hunny, speaking of girls, Genis have you made your move on Presea?”

“Uh...um...”Genis stuttered.

“Ha!” Lloyd laughed.

“Hey, but what about you Lloyd! Have YOU made a move on Sheena?” Genis said smirking.

“Um...er...not yet...uh...yeah.”

“Hopeless, man you got to get a hold of yourself, it’s been what, three years? I bet she’s waiting for you,”Zelos said becoming a bit serious.

“Yeah, I think we all got to hurry, you never know what tomorrow will bring,” And with that they all left.

Meanwhile in the girls room, they to were talking.

“So anything special happen when I was gone?” Sheena asked finally finished dressing up.

“No, not really, nothing really changed,” Colette said sitting next to Sheena.

“I have to agree,” Presea said.

“Yeah, nothing exciting ever happens here. It’s very peaceful. How’s your quest to destroy all exspheres?” Raine asked finished too.

“It’s going well, but I’m, kinda upset because of Lloyd,” Sheena said bowing down her head.

“Why? What happened?” Colette asked, “Did he spill something on you or something, he’s done that to me,” Colette said frowning.

“No, ok I was remembering things in the past, like a memory from our adventure. And then he asked me what was wrong and I told him that I was thinking about us.”

“Us? You mean, you like him?” Colette and Presea asked at the same time.

“Isn’t it kind of obvious?” Raine added.

“What?” Sheena asked wondering what the professor meant.

“You two do talk a lot, and you both went to an adventure alone, and you and him are kind of a like,” Raine stated, pointing out how obvious it is.

“Yeah, she’s right, it does seem like you like him, when he compliments you, you light up and your cheeks go red,” Colette said remembering sometime on their adventure.

FLASHBACK

‘It was before you were our friend, and hey even before you made friends with us you had a crush on him,” Colette said before beginning.

‘Ok, now it’s your turn lady! We hide,” And the little kids ran.

‘Hey, what are you looking at?’ The assassin asked.

‘Nothing, I think that your kind of cute,’ Lloyd said.

Sheena blushed a bit, but hid it and replied, ‘That doesn’t change what’s between us, I’m still killing the chosen!” And she ran for it.

END FLASHBACK...AGAIN

“That really happened?” Asked Presea.

“Yeah, but it was before we met you,” Colette added.

“That was only one of the times, he always complimented you on your summoning didn’t he?”

“You guys won’t laugh if I say that I do like him, as in like like him,” Sheena asked turning all red.

“Don’t worry, we’re not that childish,” Raine said.

“And I don’t blame you, he is sweet, but sometimes stupid, but he’s really kind, and cute, but I look up to him as an older brother always protecting me,” Colette said.

“Same here,” Presea said.

“I guess, that’s why I like him, he’s so sweet and always looks out for others, and he is kind of cute, well he is cute,” Sheena said blushing.

“Don’t worry, he’ll get it someday, maybe he likes you too, but he’s scared you’ll turn him down,” Raine said.

“Hm...You could be right. But hey, how bout you Presea? Do you like Genis?” Sheena asked.

“If you say that like is the feeling when you feel very comfortable and warm around him, and sometimes feel a bit shy, then yes, I do.”

“Ok, we-“

“Girls, we’re playing truth or dare so hurry up!”

“Hey, that’ll be interesting,” Raine said and they left downstairs.

So they all sat in a circle and they randomly chose Lloyd to go first.

“Truth or dare,” Genis asked.

“Truth,” Lloyd said trying not to take a risk until later.

“Ok then, do you have a crush on a girl?” Genis asked.

All the girls were a bit excited to hear his answer, especially Sheena.

“Uh... Yes, I do, but it’s not exactly a crush.” Lloyd answered.

“Is it more, or lower?” Genis asked.

“Can’t say, that’s a different answer for a different time,” Lloyd said.

Now it was Genis’ turn.

“Truth or dare?”

“Truth,” Genis replied.

“Ok, then do you love someone in this room?” Raine asked.

Genis turned a little red and said, “Yes...”

Now it was Raine’s turn, “Truth or Dare?”

“Dare,” Raine replied.

“Ok then, I dare you to eat a piece of your spicy cake,” Sheena replied.

Then Genis brought in a piece of her cake. It had red frosting with black pepper on top, and had chocolate inside with pieces of red pepper.

So Raine ate it and nearly exploded, she went straight to the bathroom. Everyone laughed so hard. Lloyd was practically rolling on the floor. But Raine came in and she looked angry.

“RUN!” Genis yelled and everyone ran for it.

They all enjoyed their night there, but unfortunately it was cut short because of Raine’s rampage of madness.

The next day, Lloyd and Genis were cooking breakfast, Sheena and Colette were playing tag with the younger kids, and Zelos Presea and Regal just walked around.

Raine returned to the school to pick up something and made it back in time for breakfast

“Hey Professor, what do you have their?” Lloyd asked stuffing his mouth so food came flying out when he spoke.

“Eww...Man don’t do that!”Zelos yelled wiping his shirt of unwanted food stuffs.

“Anyways...This here is an ancient storybook!” Raine said happily looking through the book.

She opened up a page, “Here is the story of the legendary Giant Cheese Castle. Ok, once upon a time in the other side of the Fooji Mountains lived a man named Chester. He lived all alone, only but 16. He had no family and he was lonely so one day another random man came and dropped a piece of cheese. But it was no ordinary cheese, eat a piece and it will grant you a wish. What did he wish for? He wished for a Giant Cheese Castle. So the earth shook, and a Giant Piece of Cheese replaced the mountains. Everyone was shocked, and Chester, he went mad, demanding cheese, and if he didn’t get the cheese, he’d destroy cities. So then came along Jason, another guy on a journey to finish his shopping list, and by accident he set fire to the cheese melting it down. Chester and his cheese was never found.”

“Ok, that was a stupid story,” Lloyd said finishing his breakfast.

Everyone else nodded, but then there was a giant earthquake...

“Hey look, it says that after reading this story and saying the magic word will revive the castle...” Raine said then sweatdropped.

“Darn it!”

So the earth continued to shake, they went outside to see something yellow emerge from the mountains. The house, some of it was falling apart. Presea and Sheena just had to be under the huge rock that comes from no where. So Lloyd and Genis sprung into action and pushed them.

“Thanks...”

But the it fell on them, “Hey, Genis, know how we can get out of this spot?”

“Meteor!” Then the meteors destroyed the rock, and hurt them...

Lloyd and Genis were covered in ashes, Presea and Sheena laughed, and so did everyone else.

But their peaceful moment was interrupted by a guy covered with cheese came before them and stole Sheena and Presea, “Why is it always me now!”

“Hey you bastard!” Then he tried to grab them back, and so did Genis but he got away.

“Darn it...”
