Author's Notes: This . . . makes no sense. It's crazy and hard to follow. It's also unbeta'd because I have about as much patience as a robber ripping off a bank.

Anyhoo . . . I don't really expect anyone to 'enjoy' this, exactly, but more to just sort of . . . think about it.

Oh! And 'We Call It . . . Knot It' is a quote from the short story A Jury of Her Peers by Susan Glaspell. You won't really understand its revelence unless you've read it. Just FYI.

We Call It . . . Knot It

History repeats itself.

(James Cooper, if you don't stop seeing that girl I guarantee you won't receive a penny once we're gone!)

Marissa Cooper, that boy isn't like us. I demand you stop seeing him. You're from two different worlds.

(Kirsten. He's a white-trash, good-for-nothing hobo. You're ending it.)

Summer, darling . . . he didn't stop speaking. Ever. Are you sure he's the one for you?

Hearts can only break once, right?

(Kirsten, I can't marry you.

-I don't understand.

-Julie's pregnant.)

Ry, we moved out. We want a fresh start. I got a job working for a restaurant. Good luck, kiddo. –Mom and A.J.

-I guess I won't unpack.

-You're too late.

-I can't do this anymore, Ryan. I don't trust you.

-I understand why you're leaving . . . I just wish you didn't have to. I love you . . .

-I lost the baby.

-I'm moving with Mom to Chicago.

-Trey sort of . . . forced himself on her.

(Sandy. Rebekuh, she's . . . she's gone.)

Dear Summer,

I'm sorry. What we had – have – had, means everything to me. But this place . . . this place was hell for me before Ryan got here. Hell. The only reason we're even together is because of him. I love you, Summer. Maybe I'll see you soon. Love, Seth.

There's only so much one person can take.

(The day I realized my wife didn't love me anymore was the day I found her wedding ring sitting by the sink.

-Oh, I can't find it. I was – plotting geraniums.)

You have to trust me!

-Oh, the way you trusted me?

(You lied to me, Jimmy. I just don't see any other way.)

I don't know what it means, Cohen. It shouldn't be this hard.

Things usually work themselves out in the end.

(Who knew that Jimmy getting me pregnant was the best thing that would ever happen to you?)

Ryan's going to be staying with us now.

(Kirsten Nickel . . . will you marry me?)

What do you think I'm doing here, Cohen?

Do you believe in fate?

(Oh – sorry! I didn't mean to knock into you like that.

-Don't worry about it. I'm Julie.

-Jimmy. It's nice to meet you. Can I buy you a drink?)

I'll be there in twenty minu – who are you?

-Whoever you want me to be.

(Hi, I'm Sandy Cohen.

-Kirsten Nickel. Nice ride.

-Thanks. My interior decorator thought the chickens were a nice touch.

-My personal favorite is the bong in the corner.)

Stupid squirrel! Give him back his nuts! Here, little guy, you can have some of my lunch. Ignore that jerk. He's just a big, fat fart-eater.

-Here, Summer, you can give him some of my sandwich. That way you can still have yours.

Does one fall in love, or do they slide?

(Marry me, Julie! Be my wife! We can raise a family together! Who cares about my parents? About your parents? I love you, Jules.)

FIVE! FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE!

-I love you.

-What?

-I love you. I love you.

-…Thank you.

(You found your rings!)

I know I'm not who you imagined as your prom king, because none of you voted for me, but I love this girl. I love her. And if she's the queen, then I guess I'm the king. No – no, she's the queen and I'm just the guy next to her. The jester, perhaps. And the only question left is – is there anything I can do to make it up for you?

-Well, you could start with dancing with me.

Does it matter?

(I love – )

Love –

(Love – )

Love you.
