Yuhi’s thoughts

Yuhi’s POV

This was it. Chidori was gone. She died in my arms. The last of the guest from the funeral were leaving now. She had to get in the way of that bullet! She could have let me get hit! But she didn’t. If only you could have finished that last thought.

Flashback:

“ Yuhi, I think you a really...really...” Chidori closed her eyes. A smile left on her face.

“ Chidori, finish that thought about me! I’m a really what!” Yuhi cried as he felt Chidori’s last breath leave her lungs. “ CHIDORI!” She was gone. She had died on his back.

End Flashback

Chidori had died. She was kidnaped by the progenitor, she went willingly to save Aya.

“ Aya,” I whispered. Aya was pregnant. She was in love with a dead man. Toya had died saving Shota. Chidori’s younger brother. He promised Aya he would return! I promised her he would return! God! Toya put her into this depression. She was forced to raise her child without a father!

Aya was laying in her room. He heard cries every night. Cries for her lover, and for her best friend. Aya wanted so much to tell Toya of their child. But he went and got him self killed! Damn him! I have to hear my love cry for another man. She cries for two men now! Toya, and her brother. Aki, he had given in to the progenitor! He gave up his body to that MONSTER. Aya loved him so much. She wanted her twin to return from this hell he had to be in. He was alive. She knew it. And now Ceres had put Aya on a deadline. She said that if Aya did not receive the Hagoromo in less than six months, when her baby was due, Ceres would kill all of the Mikage’s. Aki being first. This was not good for Aya’s sanity, let alone her pregnancy. Right now she was going down the same road Sazumi had gone through. When his brother died, Sazumi was two months pregnant. He had died in a car accident. Sazumi was struck with grieve, soon after she had a miscarriage. She had wanted to die. She wanted to be with her husband and child. I had to stop her. I had to plead with her to stay around for me! Now Aya was wasting away. She was crying for Toya. She had already come close to a miscarriage. When she heard the news about Chidori and Toya.

I hear a scream. It was Aya. I run through the hall to her room. I open the door and find her curled up in a ball in the corner.

“ TOYA!” she cries. “ CHIDORI!” Aya had recently found out that Chidori had been kidnaped and Toya went after for Aya’s sake. That was the same night she realized she was pregnant. I run to her side. Her blonde hair is a wreck. I take her in my arms and hold her. It is the only thing I can think of. “ WHY?” she screams into my chest.

“ Aya, it’s okay, I’m here” I whisper.

“ I-I miss them s-s-so muuuuucccchhhh!” she wails.

“ I do too. I miss them.” I say. Tears were forming in my eyes. The rolled down my cheek. Chidori died in my arms that night. I was the one to tell her brother that his sister died.

“ Toya, he won’t get to see his baby!” she screams. “ He won’t get to see our child. He-he won’t be here with me anymore!”

“ he will always be here” I say.

“ AND CHIDORI!” she cries, “ she went with ‘Aki’ to save me! She was in danger because of me!”

“ it wasn’t your fault!” I yell through my tears. “ IT WAS MY FAULT!” Aya looks up at me. Her eyes glassed over. “ I WAS PROTECTING HER,”

“ but-,”

“ I PROMISED YOU I WOULD BRING TOYA BACK!” I yell. Tears flowed out of my eyes freely. “ I SAID HE WOULD BE SAFE!”

“ Yuhi! I want them here!”

“ I do too” I say quieter. “ I want Chidori here. I want her here so I can hug her, and tell her I’m sorry! I want Toya to be here and make you happy again!” Aya smiles lightly at me. She wraps her arms around my neck. I smell her shampoo. We sit there for what seems like an eternity holding each other. Soon Sazumi comes and joins us. Mrs. Q and Shota soon follow. Then Shuro. We all cry on and on. For our lost friends. For our loved ones. I sit in the middle of it all. I was the last person to here Toya’s voice, I was the last one to here Chidori’s voice. Shota and Aya didn’t. They were their only family. I felt it wasn’t fair. I felt I had taken the last joy of them away from their loved ones. It was all me! I know I have to stay strong for all of them. I am the man of the house. I was to protect them. I had failed that before. I couldn’t fail again. Aya may not love me the way I love her, but I need her to be happy again. I needed Chidori and Toya to tell me it was all okay. But it wasn’t. It just wasn’t.
