Chapter 12: Vacation And Epilogue!

It was following morning at King Zatch’s castle. He was kind enough to let Zero, Kage, Tiko, Shami, Ember, and Blizzar spend the night. Zero has already walked Arisha back home to the ever night forest, and he then flew back to the castle all in one night.

But now they were watching some morning news from the reporters of the Makai. On the television screen was smartest mamodo scientist in all of the Makai, talking to a female reporter about an event that happened.

“As you can see behind us, is a an underground laboratory that was just destroyed last night. There were no witnesses, but our investigators have picked up a couple of footprints leaving the area and are heading into the same direction where the-”

But before anyone can here the rest of the scientists’ sentence, Zero’s head came up right in front of the television screen, blocking everyone else’s view of the t.v.

“Man, who is this spaz-matic?” the hybrid mamodo asked the others as he turned to face them.

“Would you give the guy a break? He’s a scientist.” Tiko answered Zero’s random question.

“Yeah, yeah fascinating.” Zero responded sarcastically. “Hey, is Opra on?” he said out as he was about to grab the remote control, until Kage stopped him.

“Zero, just leave it. We’re watching the news here.” Kage took the remote and threw across the room.

“Fine. Sheesh!” Zero responded, and sat next to Kanchome, Tia, and Schneider. Kanchome was busy eating crunchy chocolate bars. “Hey, Kanch? You think you can crunch any louder? I can still hear what this guy’s babbling about.” the hybrid mamodo said rather rudely at the transformation mamodo.

While Zero wasn’t looking, Kanchome moved close to Zero’s ear and bit hard on his crunchy chocolate bar, making a loud ‘CRUNCH’ in Zero’s ear, scaring him half to death.

“GAAAAAAAAAAH!” Zero roared out at Kanchome, and began strangling the duck-billed kid.

“Why not we have a little vacation or something?” Ember asked out. Zero suddenly stopped strangling Kanchome and already came up with an idea for a vacation.

“I’m gonna go get Arisha. How about at the beach. Be there in an hour if you want to join.” was all that the hybrid said before sprouting his light/dark dragon wings from his back and flying out of the castle through a nearby opened window.

“So it’s settle. We’re going to beach then.” Tiko agreed.

“Sorry, we can’t join you. I have ‘king stuff’ to do through out the day. You guys go enjoy yourselves.” Zatch insisted.

About an Hour Later.

Tiko, Shami, Ember, Blizzar, and Kage all arrived at the beach. However, Zero hasn’t shown up yet with Arisha. Alof them, except Kage, were in their swimsuits.

Tiko was wearing brown swim-trunks and Shami was wearing a green one-piece swimsuit. Ember was wearing a flame-colored one-piece swimsuit, while her sister wore a light blue two-piece swimsuit.

“Hey, Kage, where are you going?” Tiko asked the ghost mamodo, who was walking up a hill.

“Social stuff isn’t really my thing. I’ll be waiting up here under that tree.”

“Oh well, you’re lost.” Tiko responded.

Kage went and sat in the shade under a tree on a hill while the rest went to have some fun in the sun.

“Lets go play beach ball.” Shami said to Blizzar and the ice mamodo agreed. They went off nearby and began playing with a beach ball.

“Hey, Ember. Since Zero hasn’t returned yet, do you want to build a sand castle with me?” Tiko asked.

“Sure, I love to.” both fire mamodo began collecting wet sand with buckets and used shovels and other beach and sand toys to make their sand castle.

“Ember, watch out!” Ember heard her sister yelled out, as the beach ball Shami and Blizzar were playing with came falling towards them and destroyed Tiko and Ember’s sand castle. “Ember, Tiko. I’m so, so sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it, sis. I’m sure we can make another one. Right, Tiko?”

“It’s fine with me.” and so they gather up the wet sand again and began making another sand castle. Blizzar picked up the beach ball and go back to play with Shami, until the water mamodo called out.

“Hey, guys. I think Zero’s back.” Shami said as she pointed out at two figures heading their way.

It indeed was Zero, with Arisha. Zero was still wearing his normal clothes, but Arisha had a towel wrapped around her whole body like a cloak. “Hey, guys. You’ve finally arrived.” Tiko said out at the hybrid mamodo and vampire mamodo.

“Yes we have.” Arisha answered but felt nervous when she and her love stepped onto the beach and walked towards the umbrella that Tiko, Ember, Shami, and Blizzar set up earlier.

“Will you just relax?” Zero asked as he shook his head.

“I know, it’s just I feel kinda uncomfortable being this much... ‘exposed’ during the day.” Arisha answered.

“Arisha, I may not be a girl, but I felt uncomfortable at first when I was more opened up to others, but I got over it. Everyone has something that makes them feel uncomfortable with, but they’ll get over it, and you’ll get over it too.” Zero explained.

“I guess you’re right.” Arisha took a deep breath and let the towel slid off her body.

Tiko’s eyes widen at what he sees. Heck, even Kage’s eyes widen at what he sees. Arisha was wearing a dark purple two piece swimsuit that made her look extremely attractive.

“Tiko?” Ember was waving her hand in front of Tiko’s dazed face; it didn’t work, so she began to snap her fingers in his face; it didn’t work either, so she grabbed a megaphone and spoke in it. “TIKO!”

Tiko snapped back to normal. “Sorry, Ember. You wanted something?”

“Yeah, come on. Lets get some more wet sand.”

“Okay.” Tiko agreed, back to normal now, and Ember took his hand and they ran to the water to gather more wet sand. Kage snapped back to normal as well. Of course, it wasn’t like him and of course he wouldn’t react about what just happened, but something about Arisha’s appearance caught his eye. That was all. But now he’s back to normal and out of it. He turned and yawned and then dozed off, thinking about some other things.

“Care join with us?” Blizzar asked.

“Sure, what about you, Zero?” Arisha asked her boyfriend.

“Most social activities are not my thing. If you need me, I’ll be asleep in the shade.” Zero answered and then sat in the shade under the umbrella. He took off his cloak, leaving him with only his short-sleeved, knee-length leotard on. Boredom took over and so the hybrid mamodo went to sleep in the shade.

“Hey, Arisha, I have a question to ask you.” Blizzar spoke to the vampire mamodo.

“What is it,”

“Since you’re a vampire mamodo. How come you won’t like ‘burn’ or something-something when you’re out during the day?”

“Well, vampire mamodos may have a few same exact terms as vampires that live on Earth, like we must drink blood once in a while or then, pretty much prefer night over day, and we don’t like garlic of course. But we aren’t entirely the same as the vampires on earth. First of all, we aren’t really the ‘undead’. Only part of our souls are dead, but the other part still has life in it. Plus we’re not really ‘unholy’ and we’re not servants to the devil, so also we can’t die from holy water. Also the part about the stick ramming through a vampire mamodo’s heart? Come on, I mean anyone can die from that, right? And lastly, we may not be fond of the sun, but we can still hang around during the day you know. Is that okay with you?”

“Yeah, that’s okay with us. It makes more sense to us now.” Blizzar responded.

Tiko and Ember were still gathering wet sand to make their sand castle bigger, but then they saw the water moving away from shore. “This is bad, right?” Tiko asked.

“I guess we’re in for some wave.” Ember was right. Before long, a big wave was approaching the shore. “Lets go!”

Tiko and Ember ran as fast as they can. Zero woke up from the sound of the wave. He shouted out “BIG!”

The others saw the wave as well, but it was too late, they were all caught in the wave. It slammed itself with beach, and it even reached out to the hill where Kage was sitting at and it got him as well.

When the water returned to the see, on the ground was everyone soaken wet from the water. Even Kage’s clothes were now soaken wet. The ghost mamodo then spit a quart of sea water out of his mouth in disgust.

Everyone except Zero and Kage were laughing from the extreme experience of riding a big wave.

“Nothing like a day at the beach.” Zero said sarcastically to himself.

Two Hours Later.

Everyone had a nice hot shower to get rid of the sea water and were back in their normal clothes now. They all were now at the castle, because Zero had something in mind.

“Hey guys, back already I see. How was your day at the beach?” Zatch greeted the returning mamodo.

“It was cool!” Tiko said out loud.

“It was amazing!” Ember said out loud next.

“It was awesome!” Blizzar said out loud third.

“It was spectacular!” Shami said out loud fourth.

“It was wet.” Zero and Kage said out last in unison.

“Glad to see that you guys enjoyed yourselves.”

“Zatch may I ask you for something alone?” Zero asked the king.

“Sure, Zero.” then the two lookalikes went into another room while the others wait. “Sow hat is it?”

“May the others and I go see our book owners on Earth?”

On Earth.

King Zatch allowed Zero and the others, along with Zorcu who earlier joined the group, to go to Earth to reunite with their book owners, but they eventually split up.

“Hey, Travis. How’s it going?” Travis Izumi manage to run into one into one of his friends Chelsea. “Sorry, but your brother found out about you and Tiko losing a mamodo battle a few days ago, and he told me.”

“Figures he would find out.”

“So what happened?” Chelsea asked her friend.

“Well Tiko brought me to an old foot ball stadium, where our opponents was this guys about our, probably a year older or so. There seem to be a mystery about him. But Chelsea, believe this or not, but his mamodo looked exactly like Zatch Bell.”

“You mean you and Tiko encountered Zeno?”

“No Chelsea. It wasn’t Zeno; there’s another mamodo who looks exactly like Zatch. And his powers are different. They aren’t lightning; his powers are like both light and darkness together.”

“That’s really shocking, Travis. What happened?”

“Me and Tiko threw everything we’ve had at those two, but we lost in the end. I thought that the third Zatch lookalike was gonna have the same personality as Zeno, but instead he was different. He an his mamodo helped us back up, said that me and Tiko are a strong team, and they thank us for a great battle.”

“Woah. I guess it’s okay then but-” Chelsea was interrupted by two familiar voices.

“Chelsea!”

“Travis!”

Both humans turned around to see their mamodos Tiko and Ember running up to them. “Guys!” Chelsea and Travis said out in unison as they hugged their best friends.

“It’s wonderful to see you guys again.” Chelsea cheered happily.

“I thought I’ll never see you again, Chelsea.” Ember giggled with joy as Chelsea held her mamodo in her arms. “Oh, Chelsea? There’s someone I want you to meet.” then they saw as Blizzar came out from the shrubs and bushes. “Chelsea, I want to introduce you to my sister Blizzar.”

“Hi there.” Blizzar greeted.

“Nice to meet you, Blizzar.” Chelsea greeted back as she shook Blizzar’s hand.

“Hey, Travis!” the two humans and three mamodos turned to see Travis’ brother Tyler with Shami and Chelsea’s cousin Carly.

“Carly, what’re you doing here?” Chelsea asked all excited.

“I came to visit you, oh, and who’s this?” Carly asked, looking at Ember.

“This is a friend of mine, her name’s Ember.”

“It’s nice to meet you, Carly.” Ember greeted.

“Hello,” Blizzar tugged on Carly’s pants a bit to get her attention. “My name’s Blizzar. I’m Ember’s sister.”

“Nice to meet you, Blizzar.” Carly shook the ice mamodo’s hand.

“Hey, Tyler. How come Lori’s not with you?” asked Travis.

“Well, Travis, me and Lori’s relationship hasn’t been going well for awhile, so we ... brokeup.” Tyler answered his brother’s question. “But don’t worry, Travis. It’s cool. It’s for the best. She’s already with someone else now.”

“But what about having a girlfriend?” asked Travis again.

“There’s plenty of girls out there.” Tyler answered and then smiled like it’s no big deal at all.

“Oh yeah, that reminds me. Ember, how did you, Tiko, and the others get back here to Earth?” asked Chelsea.

“Zero convinced the king to let us come here.” answered the female fire mamodo.

“Zero? Zero? Zero? Of course! Chelsea, I now remember. That mamodo I told you that me and Tiko face before that looks exactly like Zatch. His name is Zero!”

On the other side of Mochinoki, walking down the sidewalk, was the one and only Higure Kimura. He was wearing a dark gray shirt with black short sleeves, with the purple Kanji character from ‘Darkness’ on the front, black pants, white sneakers. And he was wearing a hat similar to Van Caster in Bleedman’s ‘Training Wheels’. Awhile ago, he use to wear glasses, but not anymore; he’s now wearing contact lenses. Carrying on his back was a black haversack, which is where he use to carry the spell book of his mamodo in. And on his right cheek was a scar in the shape of an ‘X’.

“It’s been awhile... Nii-san.” Higure heard a familiar voice coming from a nearby alley. Out of the shadows came his mamodo and ‘brother’ Kage.

“Kage, so you returned.” Kimura responded in his usual tone of voice.

“Yes, indeed I have.” Kage went and stood by his book owner’s side. “So... how have you been ever since my book was burned?”

“Everything’s been going almost the same when you were here. I still put up with Takamine and his ‘friends’. But that one guy named Rahkshi. When he came back here to Mochinoki during the battle, he was different. His appearance was more darker than the first time we saw them. His eyes were different. That sorrow and pain I saw in them were replaced with nothing but merciless rage and hatred. I wonder what else happened to him.”

“The battle’s over now, Nii-san. I’m sure he’s back to normal.” responded the ghost mamodo.

“Well, I’m grateful that you’re back. Wait... how did you get back here?” asked Higure.

“Zero convinced that runt Zatch, to let me and a few others come back.” Kage answered. “So... you want to take a little walk to catch up on things?”

“Fine with me.” Higure answered and so they walked down the side walk, with their usual dark looks on them. The ghost mamodo reunited with his book owner.

In another part of Mochinoki, Zero led Arisha, Zorcu, and Kolulu, who unknowingly came along, through the park. They heard familiar voices and followed them to one part of the park where there were only four teens.

It was Rahkshi, Zero’s book owner with Lori, Kolulu’s book owner. Rahkshi was introducing Lori to Mikoro Tosowachi and Jeeno, two new friends/allies that he met when he left Mochinoki.

Mikoro Tosowachi was 17, a year older than Lori. She had black hair like Lori, but more darker, and has green eyes. She’s Arisha’s book owner.

Jeeno was the youngest out of the four teens. She was 12 during the battle, but right now she’s now 13 years old. She has short brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She’s Zorcu’s book owner.

“Rahk!” Zero called out as he and the other three mamodos followed him to their book owners.

“Zero, what are you doing back so early?” Rahkshi asked his best friend.

“I convinced Zatch to let me and a few others come back here to visit our book owners.

“Lori!”

“Kolulu!” both Lori and Kolulu embraced each other.

“Mikoro!” Arisha jumped into her book owner’s arms and embraced her.

“It’s wonderful to see you again, Arisha.” Mikoro spoke. Her voice sounds similar to Rei Ayanami from ‘Evangelion Neon Genesis’. But unlike Rei, Mikoro has more emotion in her voice.

“Zorcu!” Jeeno joyfully embraced the male crimson vampire mamodo in her arms.

“Jeeno, what did I said before about hugging me?” Zorcu impatiently choked out.

“Sorry, I forgot.”

“You always forget, Jeeno.”

“You’re no fun, Zorcu.” Jeeno teasingly pout.

“But Zero,” Rahkshi asked the hybrid mamodo. “Why is Kolulu here? I thought you have a grudge against her.”

“Don’t go there, Rahk.” Zero responded, trying to hold in his increasing anger. “The only reason I let her came was that your girlfriend can be happy to see her again.”

“Thanks, pal.” said Rahk, looking over at Kolulu and his girlfriend. “Oh, Zero. Guess what? I’m finally adopted. The people who adopted me are good people. I can finally go to school again, hang out again, and be with Lori again.”

“Hey, Rahkshi,” Jeeno spoke up. “Since I’m now 13 years old and my parents and I moved to Japan, I’m going to Mochinoki Jr. High.”

“That’s great, Jeeno.” responded Mikoro. “So how’s your cousin doing since... you-know what?”

“Oh, Koko will be better soon. She’s finally going to College in France at last.” Jeeno said to happily, she didn’t notice that Rahkshi had a negative look on his face when she turned around.

“Jeeno.” Rahk said with anger rising inside.

“Oops.” Jeeno squeaked in fear.

“Rahkshi. You have let go of the past. I know Koko was being controlled by Zofis, but you have to forgive and forget. Forgive her for her actions, and focus on the future.” Mikoro tried to calm the male teen down.

“No!” Rahkshi responded coldly. “I understanding what you’re saying, but I can’t let go of the past. I can’t forgive Koko; I won’t forgive her, not after what she did. Mikoro, Jeeno, you two weren’t there to see what she was trying to do to me. She betrayed our friendship, in one of the most cruelest and unforgiving ways. We’re still hardly friends right now. We’ll probably be friends again, I know we will, but I can’t forgive her.”

Dark memories went through Rahkshi’s mind of what happened back in the battle for king. Dark... unforgiving memories. “I’m sorry for acting like that. It’s just too painful, I can’t hold it in.”

“Rahkshi.” Lori spoke softly as she put her arms around Rahkshi’s neck and shoulders. “It’s okay. We’re here for you. I’m here for you.” she spoke with comfort in her voice.

A tear went down Rahkshi’s left eye. But it wasn’t a tear of pain; it was a tear of joy.

Zero sorta understood the pain his book owner felt. But then...

Hehehehehehe...hehehehehe...hahahahahahahahaha...hahahahahahahahahahaha...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!”

Dark sinister evil laugh was heard throughout everywhere. But for some dark reason, Zero was the only one who can hear the evil laugh.

“Was I the only one who heard that?” Zero asked out loud.

“Heard what?” Rahkshi asked.

“That laugh.”

“Laugh? What laugh?” Rahkshi asked again.

“Maybe he’s finally losing it.” Kolulu smart-mouthed at the hybrid.

“Kolulu!” snapped Lori.

“Why don’t you just shut that hole under your nose!” Zero, Arisha, and Zorcu snapped in unison at the claw mamodo.

“No one heard a laugh, Zero.” finished the hybrid mamodo’s book owner.

“Oh.” said Zero.

“Oh?” asked Rahkshi.

“Oh?” asked Zero.

“What’s oh? You just said oh.” said Rahkshi.

“Nothing, I just went and said ‘oh’.”

“Oh? You mean like ‘Oh, that’s great’ or ‘Oh, we’re screwed’ or ‘Oh, sooner or later, we’re gonna be screwed?’” asked Rahkhsi again.

“Both the second and the third.” answered Zero.

A few years have passed since that day Zero took his friends back to earth to reunite with their book owners.

Back in the mamodo world, King Zatch has made a ceremony of announcing the new king. All the mamodos of the Makai came to witness the crowning of their new king.

“Mamodos, my reign as king is now over. The time has come again for the crown to be set on a new king. And I have found that kind of king.” Zatch called out to the humongous crowd of mamodo. And he did something that hardly anyone would ever expect; he took his crown off his head.

“I give you... our new king.” Zatch placed the crown on the head if a mamodo who looks exactly like him, except with pale skin, black hair with white streaks, red-purple eyes and was wearing a cloak similar to Zatch’s, except it was black with a hood and a white X on the front instead of the bow-like ribbon.

When placed the crown on the mamodo’s head, the crown changed shape and color. It changed to black and it morph into a dark crown wear the frame of it was bury in the mamodo’s black hair, and the top of the crown morphed into long black spikes that curved over and went back.

“All hail King Zero!” Zatch said out loud and the entire crowd of mamodos cheered. Arisha, Zorcu, Tiko, Ember, Blizzar, Shami, and all the others were there, all cheering and clapping for Zero.

“This day does not belong to one mamodo, but to all,” Zero called out to the crowd. “Let us all together rebuild our world, so we may share it in the days of eternal peace.”

The crowd cheered again, and Zero spoked. “My first law: No matter how different one mamodo is, all mamodo will be created equal. And my first order: I now shatter the banishment from The Creatures of The Night Mamodos. Their banishment is forever shattered, now they all can live with the rest of our world with... in peace.”

Everyone cheered louder than ever. Arisha ran up to Zero and hugged him, and repeatedly kissed him on the cheeks.

In deed. The Creatures of The Night Mamodo’s banishment has been shattered and are now free to live in peace with the rest of the mamodo world, under the rule and leadership of their new king.

The End
