Hi everyone. I wanted to wish you all a Happy Christmas and Merry New Year. I was working on this story. Not sure if it’s good or not. The first Chappie is kind of short, please let me know what you think and if I should continue. It’s mostly about Sodapop and Amber Skye. I decided to change her name. She didn’t seem like a Stormie to me. :

The girl sat on the porch and watched the guys wrestling. She was 17 year old Amber Skye Dancer. The gang consisted of 22-year-old Darry Curtis, his two brothers’ 14-year-old Ponyboy and 17 year old Sodapop. 16-year-old Johnny Cade, 18-year-old Dally Winston, and 19 year old Two-Bit Matthews. Sodapop was her boyfriend of two years. . Soda was the only one who called her Skye because he said her eyes reminded him of the sky.

She caught Soda watching her and smiled back at him. The gang was really careful watching out for Amber especially Soda who always made sure someone was with her if she needed to go somewhere. Amber’s parents really didn’t care what she did as long as they weren’t bothered. So a lot of time was spent at the Curtis’s.

Darry came out and sat beside her.

“You stayin tonight, Amber?”

“If that’s ok. Mom and dad are gone for Two weeks. I hate that house. It’s so big and lonely.”

“You know you’re welcome here anytime. Do you wanna tell me or Soda what’s bothering you?” Darry asked.

She looked at him.

“Neither.” Came the reply.

“You don’t get that choice.” He smiled.

“I guess you.”

“Why don’t you come and help me with dinner?”

“All right.” He helped her up.

The two were quiet for a while. Then Darry looked at her.

“Are you ready yet?”

“Not really, but you have to promise not to tell Soda.”

“I can’t. If it’s something he needs to know, I’ll have to tell him. He loves you. We all do.”

“I know. This is really hard.”

“Just tell me and we’ll go from there.”

“Do you remember Bill?” She asked.

“The guy you broke up with before Soda?”

“That’s him. He’s been giving me a lot of trouble, wants me to break up with Soda and go back with him. He said that he can make me.” She pulled the sleeves of her shirt up. Darry gasped. Bruises were everywhere.

“You have to tell Soda. How could we not have seen this?”

“I can’t tell him. Until yesterday the bruises were on my legs and back.”

“Easier to hide.” Darry commented.

“He said he’s getting tired of waiting and wasn’t going too much longer.” She said crying.

“This is not something you can hide much longer. We need to tell him now!” Darry said walking to the door.

“Soda, guys, come here.”

Amber’s sleeves were still up and Soda’s eyes grew round when he saw her tender skin black and blue, and the tears in her eyes.

“Skye, baby, what’s happened?” He asked taking her in his arms, looking at Darry.

“Take your time and tell him. Amber, you’re safe here.” Darry told her.

So she did. When she was done, they wanted to go on a man hunt. Darry stopped them.

“Soda, you need to stay with her. We can’t just go and beat the hell out of someone no matter how much we want to. We need to make sure one of us is always with her. Amber, you should stay here till you parents come back. You can have Soda’s old room.”

“Does Mark know?” Steve asked.

Mark was her 19-year-old brother.

“He doesn’t know all of it.”

“Maybe you should tell him.” Soda told his girlfriend.

“He won’t care. He’s Bill’s friend and is all for me getting back with him.”

“Do you want to Skye?” Soda asked as all eyes turned to them.

“No of course not. I love you Soda.”

“I love you to Skye.”

“Dinner’s ready.” Darry told us.

Everything was fine for a few days. Then Darry decided to take the boys fishing. I couldn’t go because Mark wouldn’t let me. Soda wanted to stay with me but I convinced him to go with his brothers. Two-Bit was the only one staying in town because he had to watch his little sister. I promised I would be fine and would stay at my house until the gang came back. I planned to, I should have, but I didn’t.
