Gundam SEED – Infinity
(--- Prologue PHASE ---)
Exactly two years has passed since the very recent war and corruption to the world. Two years since Gilbert Dullindal, former Supreme Chairman of the PLANTs and Lord Dgibril, the sinister behind the commotion have been terminated in existence. The people of the PLANTs grew close relations to the Naturals who resided in both neutral space colonies and Earth. Content of their new leader Lacus Clyne, they allied with the Federation to restore the fallen due to the war.
Meanwhile on the headquarters of the ORB and Earth Alliance, Cagalli Yula Athha, crowned Queen of ORB, fulfilled in making the nation neutral again. Its name had been cleansed after its great rebellion and embarrassment to the world.
Streets are once again busy with people, both Naturals and Coordinators roaming about in all its glory, Orb. Schools re-opened right after the war ended and premises cleared. Its almost back to normal, the world was as safe as an infant in its mother’s arms.
“The council has decided that it would very well benefit both sides in security and politics to assemble one military consisting the Federation, Orb, and ZAFT’s forces…”
“However, the soldiers will fail to correspond with each other’s stregth and abilities judging by the heightened strenths and altered genes of the Coordinators. In any case, this may become great conflict…”
“What about the standards of the military! Some may complain them to be too much or too easy…”
“It is quite agreeable that the Coordinators have a much higher and tangible chance in passing these standards however difficult and complex they are, but the Naturals may face great difficulty in surpassing their strengths…”
It is the current issue on both the Orb and PLANT Supreme Council, that both sides unite their military forces to create a single item to stand guard for universal safety. The meeting room had aroused with debates towards this topic, batting back and forth which would have drove the blonde Queen insane two years ago or so. Seeing how every issue must be handled diplomatically and will have its hardships, she has trained herself to concentrate on the benefits for both sides – not just her nation’s.
She is no longer the temperamental blonde two years before and has grown to a fine young woman, just for the position of a leader, although may still get a bit moody from time to time. Her physical features have also matured in two years, blonde locks falling freely a couple of inches down her shoulders tied neatly together and visage relieving its youthful features. She had become a very attractive woman in her early twenties.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, settle down. This issue had been discussed to for the passed few months and I would be attending a negotiations meeting with PLANT Supreme Chairwoman Clyne to meet the standards for the united military forces. However, I will need approvals and topics to be brought up aside from my own – which were reviewed yesterday, to assure the happiness of both sides.” Receiving a nod from the council members, Cagalli stood up from her seat, followed by the rest of them, as a sign that the meeting was over.
“This topic will be dismissed for today and I expect final decisions on tomorrow’s meeting.” She was the first to leave the facility, followed closely behind by her bodyguard who’s been in the job for a year now. Suited appropriately in black formal wear and tie, he was to assure the safety of the crown with his own life like all bodyguards are assigned to do.
Closing the door behind them, both slummped their shoulders back with a relieved sigh, laughing at how both performed the same gesture upon leaving the ever-so-serious room of dilomats. “Oh what a day! And I have yet to expect more paperwork with demands from the new shuttle ports opening this month. Not to mention my trip to the PLANTs next week…heh, and they tell me I have so much to handle for a woman in her twenties, please,” she noted with a slight hint of sarcasm within her tone. The man next to her laughed at her actions and agreed himself.
“Yeah, that topic has been quite an issue for a while now, do you really think it would work out for the best? To have both militaries combined?” obviously he’s well informed with the latest discussions within the nation, having to follow her majesty in all her conferences worldwide. Even he was left to wonder if such a thing would really bring about a new chapter to mankind.
“In all honesty, it might be a good idea, but then again it would create conflict within the military, by which I mean the soldiers who would not be able to level up the Coordinator’s abilities. We cannot simply lower the standards, as it would seem unfair and unjust. And ZAFT’s training sequences are different from our experience. It’s all to complicated to be solved at the moment,” they had been walking through the halls, nodding in acknowledgement to the personnel and soldiers in the building passing by. Turning to a corner, they entered Cagalli’s brightly lit, majestically designed office.
“I think you need a vacation ma’am,” proposed the equally perceptive bodyguard as he leaned behind the window frame, silk cutains tied neatly on the sides of the windows, standing a good three feet from where Cagalli had settled herself in. Her desk filled with paperwork.
Looking up, he had a blank look on his handsome face, only to turn into a warm smile. If she took a vacation however, it would still be burdened by politics and media. “And if I do…what would happen to this nation?”
“Crash and burn…” he chuckled lightly, walking towards her desk to review a few files that needed attendance. He received a familiar look from the queen, followed by a familiar line. “Couldn’t have said it better myself Mr. Summit,” her chuckle however died earlier than his did which did not go unnoticed.
Suddenly, the room was engulfed in defeaning silence as her majesty’s expression diverted to a slighty sadder and lonely one. Indeed, she was glad to have a new bodyguard – Nevian Summit, loyal, has devoted his life to his job and one that she can relate so much to and befriend all at the same time. Yet, she felt a pinch in her heart that ached an ocean at the thought of an emerald-eyed man who once was a part of her life.
His concerned pair of the rarest soft shade of blue orbs examined her sudden change of mood, hoping she’d make a motion anytime soon. Sure, his duty was to keep her safe as a bodyguard, but he’s also to help dismiss emotional problems as a friend. “Your majesty?”
Snapping back to reality, hazel eyes met royal ones and smiled instantly assuring him he was all right. She then turned at a picture taken with her twin brother, his girlfriend and him. She sighed.
“My last trip to the PLANTs…wasn’t exactly what you’d call peaceful. At least it didn’t end that way,” she paused, then continued with the brown-haired man listenening intently at her words. “Alex Dino, my former head of security decided his presence would be of great assistance if served with his home military. And there was an attack that day as well, which I can’t say was a co-incidence.”
He nodded, aware of the fact that Alex Dino dismissed himself from guarding duties shortly after that ambush attack. “He was a close friend of yours, right? Athrun Zala was it? I heard he joined the Supreme Council. Not only that…he was your fiancé right?” he made sure not to trigger anything, and succeeded as the queen only smiled and looked deep in his eyes. She nodded gently before he continued. “Was it really that necessary to go as far as calling it off?”
She knew very well that he doesn’t mean to be nosy, just concerned and she understood it well. If it were she, she’d probably end up asking the same question. “I guess fate didn’t seem to agree with us together,” her answer dug hollow ground, but it was the only direction she could conclude was the reason. The only one that she can answer her own questions.
In a heartbeat, her comm-link beeped and her secretary delivered a message from the Orb military commander. “Your majesty, your next meeting in an hour?”
“Yes, I’ll be there. Let them know.”
“Yes ma’am.”
The comm-link broke as she slammed her head on the pile of papers on her desk, earning a light chuckle from Nevian who was leaning beside her desk arms crossed above his chest. “All right! I give. I really, REALLY need that vacation now! And gah! Why must they always address me as ‘your majesty’ all the time?”
“Well Cagalli, you are the infamous Queen of Orb,” laughed Nevian who was now heading for the door.
“You call me Cagalli, with a few exceptions, but why can’t they do that!”
“ That’s because you told them nicely and respectively while you threatened to have my head chopped off remember?” Smirked the man as he opened the door for the blonde to pass through.
“Yeah, maybe I should have done that…” smiled Cagalli as she walked alongside her new head of security.
Btw, the pics are cool! You should see them! Hehe!
This fanfic would be my prediction of what might happen…then again, this is me, with my mind wandering off at a snap of an idea. Read and review and tell me wacha think! (Smiles). I only wrote it out of boredome and I understand how half of you would want to throw mobile suits at me for not updating my other stories! Hehe…I need to get to that too!
So basically, another war breaks out with Cagalli leading one side, and Lacus leading the other. They’re not necessarily the main characters, but important ones. Although I heard that in its so-called third sequel, three characters from GSD will be made the main characters of the next GS. Again, these are probably non-final and I just read them from news articles so no one kill me, ayt?
‘Til next time!
