Evan stood at the doorway of Forest Park High and took a deep breathe. “Well, here it goes.” She pushed the doors open, and she walked over to the front desk. “Excuse me; I’m looking for a locker.”

The boy looked up at her, his calm gray eyes shining. “What grade?”

“Grade nine.” She said.

“Your homeroom teacher is Mr. Sanders.” He said.
