Prologue

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away . . .

During the time of the Clone Wars, there was and Order that fought valiantly to keep the peace in the galaxy. These beings were the Jedi.

Jaina Knightrunner is twelve years old. She lives in the Jedi Temple and is turning thirteen in a few days. If she turns thirteen without being chosen by a Jedi Knight or Master, she will be forced to leave the Temple to be a farmer.

But then a Jedi Master named Obi-Wan Kenobi comes to the Temple in search of a new Padawan. Her chance has come. But will she be chosen? Only the Force can tell.
